We had such a relaxing stay. Sunrises in the morning from the porch are stunning. Candy and Rick were both so helpful and nice. Candy even arranged for the Tropic Air fight to wait for us since our flight was several hours late. They go on and beyond in helpfulness. Thank you so much for everything.
This was such an incredible stay. The Slow Loris did in fact help us slow down and enjoy the beauty Placencia had to offer. Our family of six felt so comfortable here with all the space provided. The beds were exceptionally comfortable! We enjoyed the evening breeze and morning sunrises. Such a special place to us that we would love to re visit in the future.
We enjoyed the much needed break from work and our busy life at home. We enjoyed the sun rises and sunsets. Pool, canoes and being walking distance from everything in the village. We enjoyed your caregivers Rubien and Rufina, and Luna the dog.
Hope to book with you again soon.
Bird Island has been a dream vacation for us for a long time. And after years of looking at pictures and reading reviews online, it was almost surreal to step foot on the island for the first time. "I can't believe we're really here" went through my mind several times throughout the week.
The entire experience was amazing! The logistics were smooth, from meetup to shopping to transportation - Leo handled it all in a professional and friendly manner. Fred and Ruth were there to welcome us upon arrival and the hand off went off without a hitch. The island itself is a dream! This is not a five star luxury resort, so don't expect that sort of experience. This is something different - an island getaway where you are isolated, free, and truly at one with the ocean and nature around you. Snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing are second to none. At night the sky lit up with stars in a way that you just don't experience in city life. Of course I have to give a nod to Thurman who gave us an amazing experience and made sure we had enough fish to eat for the whole week!
All in all it was a dream come true, and an adventure that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
This place was perfect for our two families of four. Two of the bedrooms are completely separate (you have to go outside to enter), which was nice for a little bit of separation. Kitchen has full size appliances and a dishwasher! The screened in porch is great for evening bugs. Ruben takes amazing care of the grounds. He was outside raking the sand every morning (I think he sprays for bugs too, which was great. We definitely got way more bug bites when we went out to dinner at night than when we stayed home). We had Ruben and Mariza cook for us two nights and it was sooo delicious. Agree with everyone else, much better than the food we got out. Everyone raves about the key lime pie which was delicious, but the chocolate cake was amazing! Definitely get the 2 for 1 pizzas at Turtle Inn on Sunday night. They are great. The water and beach right at the house were perfect for our 5-8 yo kids. They loved the kayaks and SUP. On calm days, you can go quite far up and down the shoreline. It’s very close to the airport but no early or late flights. It really didn’t disturb our experience. We rented a car and drove from BZE. Easy drive and given the location, was really necessary. You are far enough from Placencia town and/or Maya Beach that you will want transportation. Amazing place, would definitely recommend!
My wife and I spent six great weeks at the Placencia Beach House from December to February. During that time, we had guests visit utilizing the extra beds. The setup is great for up to 4 adults and 2 kids (the bunkbeds are small for adults). The transfer from the airport was super easy and just a short taxi ride. The house is on the sidewalk and is just less than a mile to the point. We made the walk multiple times a day enjoying the beauty and friendly people of Placencia. The walk helped offset the food and beverage intake. The Placencia Beach Club is a short walk away. There are multiple places to get great food and drinks.
The property is postcard beautiful. We enjoyed the open-air living that seemed to give more of a Island Living feel. We spent all our time on the patio enjoying the weather, views and hammocks. Some days the ocean was smooth as glass and others had waves rolling in. The ocean is typically very clear with a great sand bottom right outside our door. We would rate our experience a 10+. We have done many all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, but this had a completely different enjoyment.
The house, the property, the host...all were incredible. Just what we were looking for! I was traveling with my wife and sister in law. We took the main house and she took the cottage. Both were above and beyond what we expected. We used Carmen's recommendation and took a snorkel/dive trip with Wayne out to Ray Caye for an incredible day of seeing the reef and swimming with nurse sharks and turtles. The ONLY issue we had was the skiff motor wasn't running so we couldn't use the boat that came with the house but that really didn't phase our vacation. We highly recommend The Caribbean Beach House!
My wife and I decided to take our moms to Belize and found The White House online. The listing made it look like the perfect place -- near enough to walk to everything, but far enough from it to be quiet.
After booking, things only got better. The owners are not only super communicative, they go well out of their way to make sure your entire trip is stress free. Renting a car and driving from Belize City? Their step-by-step instructions, complete with interesting sights to see called out by mile marker, is just one example of how easy they make it. They also had a cute, useful, and tasty welcome gift.
The house itself is amazing. And, yes, the location is perfect. Beach out front. Grocery at the head of the road. Three minute walk to Placencia Beach Club and fifteen minute walk to the municipal pier via the sidewalk. Though, honestly, we could have stayed on the veranda the entire trip.
Oh, and be sure to book at least one night with Monique, the chef who will come to the house and cook for you.
We're already thinking of returning to The White House.
