The accommodation at La Vista consists of two post and beam houses affectionately known as The Shack and The Studio. They can each sleep 4 Guests. The Shack has a queen size bed and a queen sofabed with innerspring mattress. The Studio has a queensize bed and a double beanbag bed.
Both buildings are exclusively yours.
Ideally one couple can stay in The Studio retreat up top and another couple and/or children can have The Shack. Two couples can have the Privacy of having their own building. Both buildings have a bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. The Studio also has a bathtub with views to Cape Tribulation. The Coral Sea, and Thorntons Peak (Queensland’s third highest mountain). High quality linen and towels are provided.

The Shack has a fully equipped kitchen with a BBQ, Pizza Oven, a Gas cook top and a full size fridge/freezer with ice maker and cold water dispenser. Nespresso and Coffee Press.
There is a dining table, a pool table, a flat screen TV with DVD/Stereo and auxiliary port for your device.
The Studio has a galley kitchen with an under counter fridge and an ice box. There is a coffee grinder and kettle. The galley is really just for breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks.
The Upper deck off The Studio has a hammock, sofa and a small table and chairs. Relax, read, enjoy the view. The living area has a comfortable couch, large flat screen Smart TV, and JBL Stereo speakers with auxiliary port for your device.

There is nearly always a breeze on the hill at La Vista. For those sultry days there are turbo ceiling fans in every room.
Both buildings have Free WiFi coverage.

The Plunge Pool and Spa are below The Studio’s upper deck.
The Pool deck is the best place to cool off, relax, have a quiet drink and enjoy the fantastic View.

Yes, you have exclusive use of both buildings. Staff will service The Shack and The Studio once weekly and the Pool as required. Should you require anything, I am usually just down the hill or Management is only 5-10 minutes away.

We loved the openness of this place and the outdoor kitchen where we could enjoy the views. No need for aircon when you have the open (fly screen) breeze.

A wonderful adventure.

We had a great time. The house was very nice and open. We were pleasantly surprised that there were so few bugs and mosquitos and we didn't have any problems with that. The view is stunning. We can definitely recommend it.

What a view!

We had a great stay in La Vista. A breathtaking view, no neighbours in sight, you get the impression of being all alone in the rainforest, but with all the comfort you need! Tha shack and the studio are built with love and all is very well thought. The two Beds are really comfortable, but the additional sofa beds would do harm to the back of an adult. Those who sleep in the shack will hear animals going around the house in the night. In the studio, you just hear the birds singing. Dean was not on the site, but karen lives nearby and answered promptly to all our questions. Thanks a lot, Dean and Karen! Kerstin, nov. 2016

The Pictures don't do La Vista justice

La Vista was everything we hoped it would be. Truly, Dean's pictures do not do the setting justice. The views are gorgeous with Thornton Peak to the west and Cape Trib to the east. The sunrises and sunsets were magical. It was the perfect place to reunite with our son who has been in Australia since January. La Vista was also the perfect home base to explore the The Daintree, We hiked Mt. Sorrow, walked miles of beaches and discovered the undersea world of the Great Barrier Reef. But our favorite thing was just spending time back at La Vista. Cooking dinner together every night was great fun. I will admit I was skeptical of the outdoor kitchen and bugs, but none of my worries ever materialized! What made our stay at La Vista even better was Dean. He was so nice and helpful. We are so grateful to him for opening up his beautiful property to us for this very special trip! It was beyond perfect!

Fantastic Location

La Vista is an amazing property located in its own glade in the Daintree. The views out to Cape Tribulation are second to none and many evenings were spent just taking in this location (with the support of the odd beer/wine). We booked this to experience living in the forest with all this entails (incredible wildlife noises at night). Dean was a very responsive owner and very much respected our privacy. In summation if you want to experience the Daintree in a comfortable stilt house this property is for you.

A unique and magical property. The views are even better than in the website. We loved the open-air layout and the pool is fantastic - wonderful outlook and very cooling in a FNQ summer. Our teenage kids loved the separate shack with cable tv and pool table.

Amazingly beautiful view!

The view is what hooked me. We enjoyed the inside outside living. The house has lots of instructions and found it easy to navigate the systems. We were there for 4 days and felt the location was a great jumping off point to explore the area. We went on a jungle walk, croc tour, snorkeling, entomology museum, and played on the beaches. This was my first time staying in a rain forest and I felt like I got a chance to truly experience it.

Jaw dropping!

Stunning doesn't even come close to describing this property! Everything is perfect! The bed is super comfortable but is nothing compared to spending mornings and evenings relaxing in the hammock taking in the views. The property is well stocked for everything you need in a stay. Highly recommended!
