Heart of the South Hams in South Devon in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Unfortunately, the week you visited, it was very foggy and rained quite a lot, so the fact you saw any view at all is a bonus. It was a shame as when it is sunny the panoramic views from our fields are breathtaking if you walk to the top of the hill. I can assure you that if you had looked in the right direction the sea is there to see in the distance straight from the back door - sometimes you can even see boats passing by! I'm slightly concerned by the 'slight doggy smell' on the sofa. All my other reviews on other similar sites where most of my visitors come from give me top marks on cleanliness, something which I absolutely pride myself on and am meticulous about. I did see your partner sitting in my armchairs topless and as a result dry-cleaned the covers as a matter of course (luckily I have a spare set). I do wonder if this is maybe what you were smelling as I have not had a dog stay in the property for 11 weeks straight now and had no complaints to this end, ever. Dogs that do stay are never allowed on the furniture and the furniture has special covers when we do have doggy visitors, just in case. As we are situated in the countryside in rural Devon, our internet can seem very poor, especially when you come from the cities such as London, it's a price we have to pay for our beautiful views. However, we have done our absolute best to provide our guests with good wi-fi coverage, which is why we have 4GEE mobile broadband with an antenna on the side of our house rather than broadband via a landline, as this gives us the fastest speeds available to us. Hopefully the government pledge to provide high-speed internet to the rural areas of Devon and Cornwall will be fulfilled - I won't hold my breath! I'm glad you enjoyed the local beaches and scenery. They are truly stunning.
