Location!!! Our home is centrally located in the perfect spot! 3 min drive to town, 5 min to both State and South Beaches, and yet it rests in a quiet and secluded neighborhood in the Ocean Heights section of Edgartown. We are surrounded by two wildlife preservation areas (Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary and Caroline Tuthill Preserve) and Sengekontacket Pond. Our location is great for all water activities, hiking, and biking into town. This cozy three bedroom home comfortably sleeps 6. There are 2 queen size beds and 2 twin beds. There is also a pull out sofa in the living room. The spacious deck off the back of house offers a quiet place to relax after a day at the beach and an outdoor shower. The back yard is fenced in, so great for kids! Charcoal grill, lobster pot and all the kitchen essentials. We are just a short walk to the water - clam rakes, kayak, surf board, skim board and paddle board (paddles and life preservers) are available for vacation fun! We are pet friendly as well!

Very enjoyable stay
Thank you Donna for a wonderful stay at your property. We had everything we needed and the location is so convenient. The quality of the amenities in the home made our stay so easy. The bikes, kayak, beach chairs, etc made for such a low stress vacation. The safety for our dog, the lovely walks around the quiet neighborhood, a fully stocked kitchen and the great outdoor shower were all greatly appreaciated. Thank you again!
The perfect family getaway
We had such an amazing time. The house is in the perfect location. Walking distance to the pond where we enjoyed mornings filled with paddle boarding and kayaking as well as biking distance to both Edgartown center and oak bluffs. If your not a biker it is also on the bus route and is very easy to get around. The back deck and outdoor shower were also a huge hit with our family. Donna was so easy to work with and we can’t wait to return next year!
Central location to the island towns, great for kids and dog!
Thanks for a lovely stay! It was great to be able to have our dog with us on the island this year! She enjoyed playing in the yard and so did the kids. It was great having the beach stuff at the house so we didn’t have to bring it. The kids enjoyed walking to the pond. We never got to paddle board or kayak but so great that we could have! The house was clean and a great set up for our family. Thanks again!
Peaceful, Relaxing Pet Friendly Home
We really enjoyed our stay at Donna's home on the Vineyard! It was in a nice location and we all agreed the outdoor shower was the best we have ever had over the years! Perfect for pets with the fenced in yard. Great communication with the owner...we hope to be back. Mentioned an outdoor clothes line to her and she agreed and said she would get one.
The cottage is located on residential street in a quiet neighborhood within biking distance to Edgartown. Also there are two preserves within walking distance and a secluded beach area. The owner has provided amenities such as bikes, a paddle board and a single kayak. A fenced backyard is a plus for people traveling with small children and dogs. The interior space is adequate for a small family but the living room furniture is tired and worn out. Generally, the house did not feel clean - we had to clean down things like the windowsills, dishes, and there were giant cobwebs in the stairwell and bathroom. The tub mat and shower curtain were both moldy and the indoor shower never really got to a hot temperature so we showered outside. The kitchen is lacking in pots and pans and essentials if you like to “cook in”. There is only a single air conditioning unit in the master so warm nights were a bit uncomfortable. Overall, the location and amenities were a plus but the property would benefit greatly from a real scrub down and update.
My hope is for all of our guests to have a "five star stay," and am disappointed we didn't meet your expectations for sure.
I (the owner) was at the house just a few days prior to your stay and did, "scrub it down," as you say it needed. The Pottery Barn slipcovers for furniture in living room were all freshly laundered, as were the window treatments. The living room rug, pillows and TV are all brand new. Not only did I clean, I had the cleaning crew come in the night before you arrived! I can say with confidence that our house was clean.
Prior to the rental season all three bedrooms were freshly painted and floors recoated. There are plenty of pots and pans, so not sure just what essentials you were missing. Unfortunately, we can't control the weather - and you sure had two hot weeks; however there were several brand new fans and, while we do not market the house as air-conditioned, we do provide one in the rear bedroom.
Thank you very much for your feedback, and do hope you enjoyed Martha's Vineyard
Amazing, peaceful vacation
My wife and our two dogs recently spent 2 weeks at the cottage. We had a fantastic time! Nancy was very responsive throughout the entire process, including during our stay. The house was great, exactly as described. The yard was much bigger than we expected, and the dogs lived it up in it! The back deck was relaxing and served as our primary dining area, as the weather was perfect. I could live in the spa-like outdoor shower. We didn't shower once inside in 2 weeks. It had so much room to move and leave toiletries, and not get your towel and clothes soaked from shower.
We had my mother, sister-in-law and 2 toddlers come down for a few days. More than enough room for all of us. It was great to have a place for the kids to run around outside and not worry about traffic. My 4-year old niece deemed the twin bedroom, "her room" and she can't wait to return. She has already asked when are we going back? We fit a pack n play easily in that room. There is tons of closet space and plenty of space to lounge.
We grilled most of the time, and used the fire pit as well. We had plans to use kayak and SUP but we just got too comfy to be honest reading, doing puzzles and hanging after our beach days, but the location for all of that is fantastic!
My only issue, which really isn't a complaint or a deal breaker, as its my own fault for not paying closer attention, was the lack of a microwave. We worked through it (Like I did my entire childhood) but it did make warming up leftovers a bit more difficult, and put the Easy Mac away.
We were a little nervous staying there, as I have been coming for over 10 years and staying in Oak Bluffs, but the house was so warm, and the quiet was even better! So thank you Nancy!
Thanks Megan, we appreciate your feedback, and so glad you enjoyed your vacation! We will look into putting a microwave in the kitchen, hadn't thought of it!
