Very good

It`s very basic and small, but clean and tidy - for a week ok. Old fashioned and with damp musty smell (there was an air dehumidifier) - we had to wash all our clothes after this week. Compare to our other cottages in this holiday the performance was lousy and the price we`d paid much too high.

We are very sorry that you felt this way about your stay with us. When I saw you the day after you arrived, you said that everything was lovely. I wish you had voiced your concerns to me then and I may have been able to make your stay more enjoyable. Our Cottages are always cleaned to very high standard and the 'old fashioned' interior is not the case, we decorate our cottages enkeeping with the age of the properties. They have all had recently fitted Kitchens and yours had a newly fitted bathroom and the soft furnishings are changed seasonally. We have dehumidifiers in our cottages as we let them out in the winter months due to our popularity and people do not always wish to air their cottages when it is cold outside which is why we provide dehumidifiers. Perhaps this could have been the case as to why you felt the need to wash all your clothing? We have always maintained a very high level of customer service, we have families that have been coming for over 35 years. Perhaps you felt this way because of the language barrier? You made us feel as though we were providing you with a lovely quiet holiday, again, if this wasn't the case I wish you had let us know, instead of waiting two weeks to write, in our opinion, an inaccurate review. Fortunately, your opinion is not the opinion of the vast majority of our customers, and I can only conclude that Mineshop Holiday Cottages is not the place for you. Regards, Jess at Mineshop.

Damp
Lovely place/setting but the weather wasn’t kind to us, it rained for the whole time we were there, and it was very damp inside the cottage. Couldn’t get hot water so constantly having to boil a kettle to wash up. Only saw the owners as we were leaving, despite the promise of a call/visit to see if everything was ok. Probably wouldn’t stay there again due to the discomfort when weather poor. Would probably feel differently if it had been sunny weather.

Hi Julie, Many thanks for the review, We did call to see you 3 times during your stay (we keep a note of these things) but you were obviously out enjoying yourselves, sorry about the Hot water you just had to turn it in on by using the switch next to the Hot water cylinder, shame you didn't call in to see us during your stay as we could have remedied any problems you may have had.
According to our weather records the weather which a little showery but warm, it was a bit disappointing for this time of year, especially after the amazing weather we have had all summer.
Do hope to meet again in the future. Kind Regards, from all at Mineshop

Een eenvoudig maar compleet huisje, een prachtige omgeving. Iets meer uitleg over het huisje was fijn geweest.De wandeling van 20 minuten door het bos, naar strand en pub is aan te raden!
A late summer getaway that was as good as we hoped. Hidden away in a green and peaceful valley, the property was 10-15 minute walk to the beach, where there was 2 cafes and a pub, all that we would recommend. Plenty of walks, but remember the signs on the post are distances as the crow flies not the distance as you go up and down the valleys! Final note the cream teas on arrival delightful.
Was greeted with a warm welcome, the property was clean and warm.
A lovely touch with fresh scones and milk on arrival.
Perfect to recharge the batteries, the walk to the beach was a great way to start the day and the cafe of the beach did a brill breakfast.
Could not fault the cottage in anyway, will be returning next year

Relaxing, clean and comfortable
Great location, basic but comfortable cabin in peaceful valley. Lovely manageable walk to crackington haven which is brilliant for rockpooling, we love the cabin cafe for lunch. Can't beat chips and view at pub in trebarwith strand. Beautiful coast walks and boscastle farm shop is a must for breakfast. The hidden valley is great fun for kids and adults, we will get all six challenges next time! After great days out garyvoe cottage is a great place to put your feet up, open the large windows and enjoy a glass of wine a picky tea and listening to the river and the owls.
