The BEST Vacation Property Ever!

  • 5 of 5

We have six children, ages ranging from 20 down to 2. This rental had something for everyone! Plenty of room for everyone to spread out or enjoy time together watching one of the MANY movies available. The older kids LOVED four-wheeling all over the property, while the younger ones played on the swing set, chased balls around the yard, or collected rocks, sticks, and snake skins (no joke!). Our mornings were spent on the rockers on the porch, watching humming birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and wild turkeys, and our evenings were spent around the fire pit, talking, eating s'mores, and enjoying the beautiful star lit sky. While we spent most of our vacation enjoying the house and property, we also traveled to the PA Grand Canyon in Wellsboro where we kayaked and bicycled along Pine Creek. We also visited Hill Creek State Park... so much to do there! We kayaked, hiked, bicycled, picnicked, and played on the playground. The owners and manager were very friendly and accomodating and made the entire rental experience a breeze. Overall, we had a wonderful week and can't wait to visit again next year!

Also wanted to mention that although the cabin is very secluded, the town of Mansfield is only about 25 minutes away and offers many conveniences... and the drive is beautiful!

Perfect for our family get together.

  • 5 of 5

The home was neat and clean and had great space. The lower level has a double bed and two twins, which was perfect for our daughter and grandchildren. There is a bath on all three levels and a huge kitchen island that was well-used during our stay. While we did not watch any TV, the selection of DVDs and VHS tapes was amazing. Nice hiking trails around the property and very quiet surroundings. If you get up early you can watch the wild turkeys in the yard. The yard is level and offered plenty of space for our races- sack race, three legged race and wheelbarrow races. While in the country, the location is within 30-45 minutes of the best this area has to offer. We toured Watkins Glen and went to visit friends at Lamoka Lake. Elmira is just 20 minutes away and has Eldridge Park, Harris Hill and the gliding area- all of which are a must. Also nearby the Finger Lakes, which offer wonderful wines and winery tours. We can highly recommend this little piece of heaven and will probably go again!

Just perfect for a getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at this cabin in June 2017. The cabin is comfortable and the kitchen is great! They have everything you need to make meals (except the food of course)! The kitchen island made meal prep a breeze and the kids loved sitting at the island to color and keep me company.

The best part of this cabin is the outside grounds. The yard is huge with lots of room to run and play! My kids loved kicking a ball down the hill (which would be super fun to sled down in the winter I bet!). We played horseshoes and made s'mores in the fire pit. The trail around the cabin through the woods was great! Just long enough to be fun and exciting without feeling like you are going to get lost. The rocking chairs on the front porch made for a relaxing and peaceful morning each day. One of the best parts, and a favorite of my kids, was the hummingbird feeders. We filled them with sugar water and watched for days as the hummingbirds would come up and drink the nectar right in front of you. So cool!

This cabin is remote. There is no internet, no cable, and even with the 3 different cell phone carriers we had, no cell service. The closest convenient store is a good 20 minutes. There is no 'running up to the corner store to get milk'. It was very different from where we are from in Florida, and even different from where most of my nearby relatives live in PA. Even they said it was "in the middle of nowhere". But I think that is the charm of this place. It forces you to unplug from technology. It makes you spend quality time with your family and do things together. Play outside, play games, watch movies and enjoy your family time!

We loved our stay and would absolutely stay here again. As long as you can survive without your phone, you will love it!
