Vintage Nashville Writer's Pad W/Piano, guitars & instruments for ARTISTS & YOU!

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,600 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 29 nights

About the property

Charming house near the Row, special spot on edge of neighborhood, MUSIC house!

This Nashville house is an old charmer.. with young blood! Just minutes to Music Row and Downtown for you working musicians/writers/recording artists or the visiting tourist. Also right down the street from the Farmers Market and Germantown.

Loaded with instruments,.. piano, guitars, (acoustic, electric, 12 string, tenor) acoustic bass. You can write your next smash hit here! All the comforts of your home away from home (quality beds and pillows for a great nights sleep.. so important!) Big shower in upstairs bathroom with spa-pebble flooring.

Vintage character and details but all new where it counts (brand new central heating/air and electrical). This home is on the edge of a very quiet neighborhood and very easy to get in and out of. So you can spend a wild night downtown or a long day working on the row and then retreat to your quiet home away from home.. or have your friends over and play music, drink wine and enjoy yourself.. you wont bother anyone, (no drum kits though!) as it is on the edge of the neighborhood (on a huge corner lot, across from an old school that is now a community garden center) which is why it is so unique and perfect.

It is an eclectic house in a diverse neighborhood with much to offer for the price. Around the corner and down the street is the park and golf course that connect to the greenway which goes along the river.. great for a walk/run or bike ride. Near to TSU, Music Row, downtown, Germantown, West End, Vanderbilt, Belmont, Bridgestone Arena and everything great about Nashville... but it is not congested like trying to get in and out of most of the other neighborhoods that surround the hub of a soul-less condo downtown where all of the riffraff are. This house is very special place with the right vibe for creative people like you. You will see once you are here for awhile, this town has quite a bit of traffic and is getting worse by the day but getting in and out downtown and music row from here is easier than anywhere else. There are several shortcuts through the back neighborhood. Very convenient for those who have to work on the row or downtown.

About Lacy Younger

I am a recording artist/songwriter who travels constantly. I was born in Southern California and tour all the time.. it is always nice visit the beach city I grew up in but then conversely, I like spending time in Music city with my friends and cohorts in the music biz... I am easily inspired here and seem to thrive in Nashville. It is a very special city. I have been in this business for a long time and enjoyed many ups and weathered many downs, learning valuable lessons along the way. I have an amazing son and family. I feel blessed to have a little piece of Nashville to call my own and to be able to share it with you. It is a very old house with a very warm vibe.. (i prefer the old homes, all of the wood details and unique features... I prefer to save them and cherish them,.. they don't make 'em like they used to!). I look forward to hosting you in the near future!

Lacy Younger purchased this house in 2014

Why Lacy Younger chose Cumberland Gardens

I purchased this property because I have worked in Nashville off and on for many years and gotten to know it very well. I have seen it grow and always wanted to buy a home here. My plan was to have a house where my friends and peers in the music industry could stay when they are here in town working; wether it's a writing or recording session, or meetings on The Row.. or a gig.. this house serves as a perfect home base. A place where they can write, play music, record demos, find peace and quiet and inspiration and be close to all of the places they need be. I later found that people of all walks of life adore my home because it is quality and has a very special vibe.. also, many a hit songwriter have played that piano and stayed at The Writer's Pad!

I love my house and I love my neighborhood. Since I bought the place I have had many offers but I'm not selling any time soon!

What makes this house unique

A lot of wood trim and a craftsman style feel. This house is vintage chic with a very cozy vibe.

Wrote some great songs at the Writer's Pad

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed at the Writer's Pad for a month, and we had a great time. We were there to do some songwriting and co-writing, and we did just that. The house was very conducive to that kind of creativity. It was close to downtown and Music Row, which worked out well for us.

There were a few things that would've been better, certainly for a long stay like ours, but overall it was really good. Lacy was very communicative and responsive to any questions we had. Comfortable bed, and sink-into-it couch. It was the right place for us to be for our first long-term stay in Nashville.

Easy location w perfect amenities

  • 5 of 5

We were in Nashville for a comedy conference in Mt Juliet and it was an easy shot there and back every day. Heading downtown was also easy. The beds were super comfortable and our girlfriend slept on the sofa and had her longest sleep in on record - so I guess that was really comfortable too. It felt like walking into a home away from home thanks to all of the extra little touches, like hand soaps and granola bars. We will definitely be back! Thank you Thank you :)

Great place and easy to get downtown

  • 4 of 5

The property is nice. There are two bedrooms and a living room large enough for an air mattress. Linens and towels were clean and so was the home. It's a short drive downtown 10-15 minutes or $20 cab ride. There is a shopping plaza with grocery store nearby. The washer and dryer in unit was a plus as was the sizable back yard. Only downside was when we vacated the apartment. We left the sheets from the beds and towels as instructed in a pile on the floor. However, were charged an extra cleaning fee because the towels were wet (from showering). Thought that was odd. But aside from that, this is a great place to stay!

Owner's Response: Unfortunately this guest didn't read the house rules very carefully. The sheets are to be left on the 'beds' not the floor and the guests are responsible for washing their own towels.. even if you leave them in the dryer, which is fine if it's last minute. Also, it's a house, not an 'apartment' as guest remarked and it's only a $9 Uber ride to downtown. You should never pay $20 to go 2.5 miles...
