2016 Wildfires we will never forget

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect, the view amazing. Hot Tub was wonderful and secluded. We will stay here again. This trip we where there during the wildfires, and had to evacuate one of our nights. the owners were fantastic communicating with us, checking on us, letting us know where the fire line was, and even offered to credit us. Great people, great communication.

Wonderful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 visits the Great Smoky Mountains almost every December. This was our first time to stay in this particular cabin, but it was our second time to rent from the owners.

The owners have always been a delight to rent from, with prompt communication at all times.

The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. Our children (ages 7 to 17) all enjoyed the game room upstairs (as did my husband). Having a living area (with television) on the lowest floor was also very nice. A couple of nights, I was able to watch a movie with our youngest children while our oldest kids and my husband played games on the top level, and neither party was disturbed by the other.

The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. We ate breakfast and supper every day at the cabin and only had lunch out.

The beds were comfortable.

As far as space goes, I felt like this was large enough to sleep comfortably and to have a few different activities going on at once (with the 2 living areas, game room, and decks), but small enough to encourage my children to spend time with each other.

My 7 year old would like for me to add that the arcade game was awesome. I'm pretty sure my other kids agree. :)

We visited shortly after the fires and found the entire area (Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg) ready and welcoming to tourists.

If I HAD to pick something negative, the washer/dryer unit is small. But, even with a family of 8 during the cold season (jeans and sweatshirts, etc.), we were able to use it. Loads were washed and dried quickly - they were just small loads. I just made sure to wash one in the morning while we were getting ready and another load at night. It really wasn't a problem.

The cabin was a quick ride in the car to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We stopped at Walmart and Publix to pick up groceries.

All in all, we found the location to be convenient, the cabin to be very nice and clean, and the owners to be honest and easy to communicate with. We would highly recommend this cabin to others and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful Cabin. 4.5 Stars Will Return and Recommend to Friends & Family

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I vacation every year prior to Christmas. This year we decided to go to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. We have 4 and 6 year old girls. After searching and calling a number of rental companies, we decided on a couple different areas and ultimately Legacy Mountain. After reading reviews, we decided to go with Eagle Heaven. The owners were immediate in responding and sending directions for check in after final payment. The cabin was very clean. We did have to kill a roach but that happens.

Pros: The View. One of the best in Legacy Mountain Resort. Right on the end with no barriers. Great paved roads. No problems getting there with a Toyota Sienna. Beds were pretty good (coming from my normal Sleep Number 55 Setting). All 4 games upstairs were in perfect working order. Climate controls on two floors. Hottub was clean and properly maintained. Bathrooms and Kitchen all Clean. Christmas Tree and other decorations really was a great touch for the season.

Cons: *Reason for not 5 star. With a few minor upgrades this would easily be a solid 5 stars. New Kitchen cooking wear and utensils. The Washer & Dryer was the smallest bottom/top unit I have ever seen and there was easily space for larger. Larger Water Heater. Only a few minutes of hot water which is a challenge. Mismatched sheets. Had to use queens on King mattress. Stairs to top play room could be stabilized a bit better. Fireplace was really only for show, no heat. Not really a con but more of a suggestion, in addition to listing Food City for grocery, add Publix.

Overall we really enjoyed the rental and vacation. With a few improvements this would be 5+ Stars.

Owner's Response: We look forward to having you all again and would love to have your friends and family stay at the cabin as well. Thanks for the 4.5 star review! We wish we would have known about these other items you mentioned to address them right away when they came up. Our cleaners unfortunately lost their whole facility along with all of our extra linens during the fires. We bought them all new linens right away, but they must have gotten mixed up in between cleanings. We completely lost our other cabin down in the city limits of Gatlinburg as well. The fireplaces unfortunately, are not allowed to utilize the heating elements for safety reasons in the area. We will look into the water heater issue you mentioned right away because this has never come up before.

Outstanding view and memorable trip!

  • 5 of 5

Although the Smoky Mountain fires of 2016 were devastating, we were pleasantly surprised by how little effect the fires had on the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains and the tourism business. The Eagle Heaven Cozy Cabin had exhilarating views of the mountains. We woke up one day feeling as if we were truly in a slice of heaven. The cabin met all of our expectations with cleanliness, great views, and spacious enough for 6 adults. Our 20 year-old son even enjoyed the Legacy Mountain Zipline opportunity that was available in the complex. We loved being a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is wonderful! We stayed here for an early anniversary getaway where kids tagged along. There is so much available for all. You can hide away in the cabin for a quiet getaway, visit the attractions for excitement, or do some of each. The views were spectacular, and we were able to relax on the porch at night under a rare super moon. It was hard to do anything but the game room with the kids while at the cabin. Many memories were made, and we definitely plan to return one day.

If you're looking for something to do, check out Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. There's hiking, sight seeing, photography and more. Also suggest a drive through Great Smoky Mountains if your coming from the south.

Daniel and Jenny are wonderful hosts and this cabin is an amazing place. I highly recommend anyone considering staying in the area book this place. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Daniel and Jenny!
