Casa Del Sol is a recently built Cape Cod situated at the end of a cul de sac on a private street.

Wake up to a lake view to the rear of the house from one of our three master bedroom suites. The house comfortably sleeps up to 12 people. The family room has a television with Direct TV and a DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped including a coffee maker for the morning after the blender was used to make Margaritas!

There is a three level deck on the rear of the house with a Tiki bar, gas BBQ grill and plenty of room for lounging. We are located near the old Newman Ferry boat about a mile (15 min walk) from downtown.

This rental is our home that we share with select users. It doesn't feel like a rental property when you are staying. The home is built by the owners with pride and it shows.

What makes this house unique

The home has a fully finished basement with three bed rooms and a full Kitchen and family room. This is available for access to renters with special approval. The home is air conditioned and has tons of windows for a great view of the lake (sometimes trees limit the view a little). Please keep in mind the home is on an island which includes may flies, Canadian solders, spiders, birds, snakes, etc. Its nature and its fantastic.

Location great ....maintenance not so good

Upon check in, noticed the outside was not well maintained. The inside at first glance was clean , but then started to notice many things were not clean.

Under beds there were spiders.

Did not look like linens were clean.

Back deck was not clean.

Grill was not in good shape.

Chairs on deck were ripped on the deck.

One side of the kitchen sink was broken.

One bathroom was completely unusable.

No access to garage for use of kayaks or bikes.

Garbage flowing over the front yard upon arrival.

Only one tv worked on the satellite.

So if you want to repair and clean your entire vacation, this is the place for you.

Owner's Response: I am sorry to learn your stay wasn't favorable. We take great pride in our home and want everyone to have a great stay. We have a maintenance company take care of the home which includes cleaning the home, spraying for insects, taking care of the landscaping and more. I personally went to he home after your review came out to learn that the chairs in the back patio needed replaced. I didn't see any signs of the home being dirty or in need of repairs. I met with the maintenance company and went through the home with a fine tooth comb to ensure it is up to par. I do think people fail to understand that the home is on an island which includes wildlife and unfortunately the occasional spider, may flies, Canadian Solders, etc. We do our best to maintain the home for our guests. We urge our guests to call Bill Gallagher at the very first sign of anything being out of order or not up to standard. We will immediately send the maintenance company for prompt and swift action. Spider house but great location

House was in a great location but cleaning fee should be waved. House was full of spiders including in our bed and all over the patio as well as windows inside. There was left over trash from previous guests in the garage. Only had trash pick up one day for 12 people so had to pay to take it to trash transfer station as we didn't want to leave it for the next guests to worry about. The layout was nice for our large family with a main master and 2 separate areas upstairs and a whole apartment downstairs. We could easily walk or ride bikes to town. Only 1 Tv worked, the one in the living room, lack of lighting for pool table, had ant problem in the kitchen and the top of fridge and ceiling fans were covered in dust! Fire pit area needed cleaned out. Deck was nice to hang out on once we cleaned it. Random holes in the ceiling and walls would be an easy fix and look much better. No toilet paper holder in one bathroom. Not enough towels, only 2 per bathroom so not even enough for 1 each. Was nice to have a laundry room and 3 full size fridges. Overall we had a great time but for the price all of the complaints we had would be easy fixes.

Family Reunion

We had a great family reunion here! The house comfortably fit my extended family and was a perfect week. We booked the entire house and were very happy that there was both an upstairs and downstairs kitchen as we could keep the smaller kids downstairs in the morning to not wake up everyone. The deck was great for late nights and we had a view of the lake but privacy because we were a bit farther back. We plan on coming back!

Great house for my family of 15 to vacation together. Prime peaceful location.

Our week long KI experience and stay in Casa Del Sol was memorable in many ways for me and my husband, our three children and their families. We numbered 15 making us eligible for a group rate on the newly added service on the Jet Express from Kelleys to Cedar Point where we had two beautiful Ohio summer days riding everything in the park together. Kelleys Island is not far from our home town of Amherst allowing family and friends to come over on the ferry and spend time with us for the first time since moving to Florida 10 years ago. Having perch was a must while we were there! West Bay had excellent perch and wonderful sunsets. It's a great family place too. Hopping on the Jet Express to Put-in-Bay provided a fun last day touring the island on a golf cart after visiting Perry's Monument on a crisp day which allowed us to see Canada and MI from the top of the monument. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION 103 Valerie Trail, Priceless! We were able to walk to the downtown area. The kids had a safe place to play in the cul-da-sac on a no outlet street. We enjoyed the deck with morning coffee and at night. We sat around a campfire in the pit in the back yard one night. It wasn't our normal family beach vacation surfing and shelling. It was different in it's quiet island way and wonderful to slow down. Be prepared to take lots of pictures and to relax and enjoy yourself. Stopping for the week's groceries in Sandusky prior to taking the ferry over was the thing to do.

Awesome Place

My 9 friends and I recently stayed at the Casa Del Sol on Kelley's Island and could not have been happier with our experience. Bill was great in answering any questions that we had and the house came fully equipped. The kitchen had all of the necessary cookware, the house was huge and the back deck was fantastic. Thanks again for letting us stay Bill and we will definitely be booking another stay at the Casa Del Sol in the future.

This home has a great lake view and is in walking distance to the restaurants and bars downtown.

The backyard has a nice privacy fence along with two great decks relax on. There is a tikki bar on the main deck for entertaining.

The home is located on a quiet cull de sac with very little to no traffic.

The state park has an excellent (free) sandy beach to enjoy. Boaters are able to anchor and swim up to the beach.

The glacial groves are an excellent attraction to check out.

Many families enjoy geocaching (an app on phones). The island has approximately 12 different locations for the hidden items. This provides for a great site seeing opportunity.

The jet express runs island hoppers to Put N Bay on a regular basis for a small fee.

Cedar Point is just across the water on the main land which is a great amusement park to spend the day at.

The West Bay Bar has some of the best sunset views you will ever see. It’s worth checking out.

The Village pump has legendary Brandy Alexander’s.

The Winery has some of the best sangria you will ever have. They also have a play area for kids and horseshoe pits.

There are a few quarries on the island that have breath taking views. One of the quarries makes for a great hike as it’s tucked away in the middle of the island.

Bag the Moon Café has wonderful breakfast and Strawberry Shots.

The Casino Bar (not gambling) has a nice night life and great food.

Kelley's Island has some of the best bird watching in the entire world. People travel from all over the world to come and check out the different species of birds.

This home is within walking distance of the dock you can rent to house your boat. There is a public beach lunch at the State Park as well.

Biking is a way of life on the island as well as golf carts.
