We had such an incredible experience in this cozy cottage. It was spacious and felt like home. Can't wait to go back!
I was there with 3 high school friends and a Franciscan priest from the Apache reservation in San Carlos. He taught all of us in high school (50 years ago). He has had some health problems recently and your home was a welcome get away for all of us. Your kitchen was well furnished and we cooked dinner once and breakfast twice there.
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage. Thank you. Everything was great! Rooms were bright and comfortable; loved all the space for our friends to gather and reminisce about college days at NAU.
We really enjoyed our weekend! The house was very clean and cozy. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the beds/sheets were very comfortable. My kids (ages 3 and 5) loved the tire swing out front and the movie collection. There was lots to do in the area. We especially liked Slide Rock!
This house was great for our family vacation. The kids loved playing on the tire swing and exploring the creek (although we were a little disappointed at how low the water level was at the time - don't plan to swim or fish right behind the house). There was plenty of seating for our family of six, and two separate lounging areas. The beds were comfortable enough, and the house was very clean. We had plenty of towels and blankets, and the temperature was nice without AC. We enjoyed unplugging from the TV and internet while we were there, and not having access made it easy to resist temptation. Before bed each night, we took advantage of the many movies provided - nice variety. Overall, we were very pleased with the house, the quiet neighborhood, the convenient location, and the management. Our only complaint was that the creek wasn't much of a creek during our visit, and that had been a major reason we chose this house in the first place. I realize that this is out of the owner/manager's control, and I also assume that the creek level rises and falls with the weather. The beauty of the neighborhood, and the comfort of the house made up for the water level in the creek, and I would definitely choose this place again. Don't get me started on Sedona...it's amazing! Can't wait to return.
My family stayed here one night for a Sedona trip.
The house is so great; very bright and well kept! It's easy enough to find and the check-in instructions are detailed and accurate. Lots of blankets are available to snuggle up with, and there is a nice large family room and kitchen table for family time. The kids really enjoyed the tire swing. There is a nice DVD collection, though we didn't have time to watch anything. Photos in the listing are pretty accurate, and the owner is really good with communication.
Beds: I was so glad we only stayed here one night, because the beds (all of them) are the most uncomfortable, rock hard, mattresses I have ever "slept" on. Everyone complained...even the kids. We were up at least every hour. Some adults even chose to sleep on the couches half-way through the night.
Kitchen: We brought food to cook meals. The kitchen has a lot of useful items, but there is no can-opener, and the knives are incredibly dull. We couldn't cut the steak we BBQ'd with the knives there, and our canned goods were useless since we couldn't open them Also, the only spices that the cottage provided were salt, pepper and LOTS of oregano, so if you need anything else, don't forget to bring it.
Location: Directly behind the cottage is a little community of loud people. I don't know if they're permanent residents, but their proximity and boisterous antics was disruptive and hard to ignore. Simply put, you're not alone.
Deck: There is a picnic table on the back porch, but since it rained it was too wet to use. The patio chairs that were provided would have been nice to use, but they're all broken.
Chores?!? - You don't realize until after you book that the cabin has chores for you to do before you leave. You have to strip and wash your bedding. NOT a welcomed chore when you're on vacation and pay $160 for a cleaning fee and $42 service fee. I strongly urge the owners to reconsider this demand. We've stayed in many cabins around the area and this was the first time we'd ever been told to wash our own sheets.
