Beautiful comfortable home with wonderful hosts
We had a wonderful stay. The home was absolutely beautiful and so comfortable. We enjoyed the terrace with the view of the valley. The home has a great location to explore the area. We loved everything about it. Thank you for sharing this little slice of paradise with us.
such a fab place and great owners
Slightly hidden gem!!
This gîte was the perfect place in the Lot area to stay and explore from. It was spotlessly clean. It was very quiet except for the birds which sang each morning as we woke up.
It is very well outfitted with everything you would ever need for cooking and eating in.
The bed was comfortable. The shower was very good with endless hot water and good water pressure.
We stayed for 5 nights and were very happy there. We would absolutely recommend to friends and family.
Lynn and Peter are very welcoming. They explained the workings of the gîte well and were always there available to answer questions if we needed, but other than that they leave you on your own to enjoy their property and garden areas.
Visit in Cajarc
We really enjoyed our visit in this beautiful house and on it’s surroundings! The hosts were really friendly and helpful.
Peter and Lyn were ideal host, and the gite was perfect. All I can say is we hated to leave and can’t wait to come back.

About John (Peter) and Lyn Byford
We originate from near Southend-on-Sea in Essex. In 1995, we moved permanently to France, firstly to Normandy, where we already had a holiday home. After spending the Summer months in France and the Winter months in our caravan in Spain and Portugal, we decided to relocate to the Lot in 2001, a decision we are glad we made.
John (Peter) and Lyn Byford purchased this Barn in 2001
Why John (Peter) and Lyn Byford chose Cajarc
After looking at many properties, Le Coustal was the ideal place for us; located in Gaillac, a friendly hamlet (not to be confused with the large town of the same name) and near to the charming town of Cajarc with its shops, bars and restaurants.
What makes this Barn unique
Le Coustal is surrounded by hills and has views over the River Lot and the Lot valley. There are easy walks round the hamlet of Gaillac and many more challenging ones in the area. Part of the property is wooded and mostly left to nature because there are badgers, red squirrels and other wildlife who share the woods with us.
