Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 6

This is a 3 bedroom, 1 bath farmhouse that is located on a 30 acre certified organic farm within the Eugene city boundaries. The farm has over 2,000 feet of frontage on the Willamette River.

The farmhouse has been redone but still has the original wooden floors, an insert fireplace and it is on its own 2 acre lot. Note, it is a home from the 50's and is nice and spacious but is not a deluxe luxury accommodation. There's no DVD player, big screen TV etc.... but there is a beautiful, quiet setting for you to enjoy (and fast wifi).

Each room is decorated with furniture and items from the owner's years of living overseas.

Guests are free to walk to the river (about a 5 minute walk), see the horse stables, visit the organic farm (or even pitch in and help if they desire!)

About Property Manager/Owner

I am a "semi retired" educator who has had the great experience of living and working overseas for the 16 years. I ran the farm from afar and came and worked all summer each year to try and keep things up (it didn't work very well :>).

Now, I am home and loving being able to work the land and live on this beautiful piece of property year round.

I live on the property further back.. My son and my mother, who's 87 years young work here most days and we have Wwoofers (from the World Wide Organization of Organic Farms) who live here for various lengths of time to learn farming.

Property Manager/Owner purchased this farmhouse in 2001

Why Property Manager/Owner chose Willamette Valley

It's unique. It is a working certified organic farm and it has beautiful river frontage. I have also decorated the house with items that I obtained while living abroad. (Please note that it's about a 5 minute walk to the river's edge from the house).

Guests can observe a real working farm and buy fresh, organic produce right from the farm!

What makes this farmhouse unique

A person can bike from here easily and/or hike the property or the old boat landing at the end of the road. It's a unique opportunity to visit a farm and see all of the animals and crops.

Great stay!

  • 4 of 5

My family of 6 plus our dog stayed here for a long weekend. The house is very spacious. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Kitchen was great. Lighting in the living room was a bit of a challenge for reading. Overall great place to stay!

Quiet with easy access to all areas of Eugene and Springfield

House is roomy with plenty of counter space in the kitchen area. It is in a nice location to explore the areas between Eugene and Corvallis.

WONDERFUL!

  • 5 of 5

The Creative Farmhouse was WONDERFUL!

What a beautiful farm, and such a charming old house. Shaundele was fantastic. We asked for cream for our coffee after getting in late the night before, and she couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating.

The property is AMAZING, and the best part is that if you are interested and want to know more and interact and learn, you can, but if not, and you want to stay to yourselves, that's just fine, too!

My favorite surprise was the rope tree swing by the house, where I could watch the horses and enjoy overhearing the happy conversation of our friends and family from the front porch, looking up into the branches of an in incredible tree like we just don't have at our home in the Ozarks.

The beds are comfy, the towels are plush, the water is HOT, and the artifacts from around the world are fascinating.

This place is not stuffy! Our friends from Eugene loved visiting us here and walking to the river and mysterious "pashmina's tent" on the property.

We'd stay here again in a heartbeat next time we're in Eugene.

Peaceful house in the countryside

  • 4 of 5

The house is set in a beautiful area and was very close to the Oregon Horse Center. We were in town for a horse show, so it was nice to be able to find something so close. We enjoyed looking at the collection of furniture and books from around the world. We were able to bring our two dogs with us, and they enjoyed exploring the enclosed side yard. Shaundele was very easy to work with when our trip plans changed.
