Located on the main level of this peaceful cabin is the cozy master bedroom, (1) full bathroom, the kitchen and dining room, a family room with sofa sleeper, and easy access to the covered deck which greets our guests with gorgeous views of Dixie National Forest. It's a great place to sit and enjoy that early morning cup of coffee! The lower level/basement boast plenty of sleeping space with (2) queen beds and a sofa sleeper in the sitting area. Also located on this level is the second bathroom and a spacious laundry room fully equipped with a washer and dryer and sleeping area for the doggies. Total square footage of the cabin is 1,536. The cabin comes fully equipped with new luxurious bedding, sheets, and towels. The kitchen comes fully equipped as well, with dishes, silverware, pots & pans, crockpot, a coffeemaker and beverage ware etc.

Just minutes away you can go shopping for unique finds, dine for lunch or dinner or indulge in some delectable treats like homemade pies and ice cream in Duck Creek Village. For hiking enthusiasts there are ice caves and Mammoth Creek Caves or perhaps some hidden falls. For the outdoor sportsman who enjoys a little fly fishing, there many nearby streams and lakes within the area. And for those adrenaline junkies there are hundreds of miles of trails to ride those bad boy toys like utility terrain vehicles, bikes, quads and snowmobiles. If motorized toys aren't your thing, horseback riding or just simply kicking back and watching the wildlife is also an option. From the cabin, you are also less than 45 minutes from many of the National Parks like Bryce Canyon, Zion, Cedar Breaks and Coral Pink Sand Dunes. Brian Head Ski Resort is approx. 30 minutes away. During the summer 4-wheel drive / AWD is not necessary but during the winter it is recommended or have snow chains.

About Jennifer Leaders

I am a career oriented individual who is very outgoing, fun, energetic, friendly and most important a loving mother and wife. I love spending quality time with my family and friends. I also have a fond appreciation of finding time in the daily hustle and bustle of everyday life to pack the bags and head to the cabin nestled in the beautiful mountains in Duck Creek, Utah to enjoy the 3 R's (rest, relax & ride)!!

Jennifer Leaders purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Jennifer Leaders chose Duck Creek Village

Our good friends own a cabin in the area and they would often extend our family an invitation to come stay with them. Every time we did, we had so much fun and would find ourselves saying...I wish we could have a cabin of our own. The day we decided to buy, we looked at 20+ cabins and it was this one that we feel in love with. It had everything we needed and thought it had the most potential. The cabin was a bit dated and shortly after purchasing it, we made some much needed upgrades. All of the furnishings are new and the carpet and vinyl flooring on the lower level is all new too. Eventually, we would like to update the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room. However, for now they are functioning and in time will be remodeled.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you guest for your review. I have taken your review into consideration and apologize if you felt that I falsely advertised my property. I have made a few changes to my listing just to ensure that future guests clearly understand what they are getting from me when renting. I think the pictures I have provided clearly show what you get inside and outside the cabin. I do address parking in the welcome letter regarding overflow parking that is available in the meadow which is right off highway 14 when you make the turn into the community. As for the cleaning fee, I am right in line with other owners who rent their cabins. I just simply ask that guests strip the beds of linens and place them in the laundry room for the cleaners and to throw the towels in the wash. I don't think this is me asking you to clean it. My cleaners when they are cleaning the cabin, they are doing more than just laundry. They are cleaning and sanitizing the showers, sinks and toilets, they are dusting and wiping down furniture, cleaning the kitchen and the refrigerator, vacuuming and moping the floor, plus more. I think any future guests would appreciate walking into a very clean cabin on their arrival and not have to clean it upon their departure.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Empty Nest is truly home away from home. It has EVERY amenity! The drive up was a surprise at first for we MI folks, but we came to enjoy. I would not want to do in snow! The cabin is perfection from the decor to the well-stocked kitchen, to the comfy beds. We highly recommend!

It was a very nice property, but I feel as though it was falsely advertised.

  • 3 of 5

The owner of this property did a great job of making the space functional and beautiful, however we would not stay here again. The listing says that this property sleeps 10, and even though you could pack in that many people, it would be very uncomfortable. It also says that there are two bedrooms when in reality there is one bedroom, and a basement with beds in it (not a second room). There is also VERY limited parking so if you are planning on bring ATV's you won't have anywhere near the property to park them without a lot of effort. We also felt that it was not right to charge a cleaning fee, but still expect the renter to do laundry and strip all of the bedding. We love Duck Creek and have been going there for many years, but we will not return to this cabin.

Cleaning Fee $140
Pet Fee $85
Damage Insurance $59

Pets are welcome in our cabin however, we would appreciate it if while at the cabin they don't make themselves comfortable on any of the furniture. I would be happy to refund half the pet fee assuming they don't have any accidents on the flooring or damage any of the furniture. This cabin is available for rent all year long and 4WD or AWD is highly recommended throughout the year and is a MUST have during the snowy weather. Rates are subject to change during peak seasons, Legal holidays and extended 3-day weekends.
