The host had quick responses to questions and very friendly. The house was in a great location for hikes and floating the Buffalo River. The cleanliness upon our arrival did not meet basic expectations, under the furniture (dusty and half a cookie) and a lot of dead bugs on the floor.
We enjoyed our stay, the Internet worked great -the kitchen was lacking in cooking pans, but Marilyn got us more immediately. She was very responsive to her needs.
We enjoyed everything about this house and location. It was really nice to get out of town for a weekend and just relax. It’s located in a beautiful part of our state as well.
Overall, the place had plenty of room for us, was in an ideal location, has beautiful views, and is a great price. It's old and charming. However, the house needs a really good deep clean and sprayed for insects/spiders. We understand that this is in the woods and on a mountain. We are from the country, so trust us, we understand bugs are gonna happen, dust is gonna happen. However, I don't think killing 5 spiders inside per day should be considered normal simply because the location is in the woods. A simple routine insecticide spraying would do wonders. Additionally, the place was only surface level clean. Lots of webs in corners, and the under cabinets, beds, and couch was disgusting, which you can easily see from anywhere you sit in the house. A really good deep clean is desperately needed. The curtains also really need to be bigger. They are not wide enough to cover the entirety of any window, so the evening times felt a little vulnerable because we were unable to completely cover the windows. The positive of the house is the kitchen is very well stocked with all the things most people could possibly need and there were plenty of towels and blankets, which we really appreciated. The kitchen could probably use some plastic baggies and tinfoil or plastic wrap. Overall, it's a cute place and it suited our needs, but would likely stay at a different place for our next visit.
Great place to stay if u plan on floating the Buffalo from Ponca to Kyles Landing. Not far from Jasper, too. Had a great time, full kitchen for cooking and plenty of beds and bathrooms (2 1/2). Lots of yard to spread out on.
The Coffey was as advertised. Central location between Ponca, Jasper and Pruitt. House was well stocked with everything needed for our big group to relax, cook and enjoy the area. Would recommend.

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness
Great check in process and good space in the house. Good location from town and hiking/recreation areas. The house was not very clean. Looked liked it was wiped down and vacuumed, but there were cobwebs, bugs, and dirt in many places. I was disappointed in the lack of pots/pans.
Enjoyed our stay at Coffey Place. Home was well stocked for us to cook dinner for our group. It was nice to have several beds for people to spread out. Super convenient location if you're visiting Horseshoe Canyon Ranch or the Buffalo River.
