Well-located and well-decorated

  • 5 of 5

Had such a great stay at Merlyn's home. It was private and we had everything we needed. It is also extremely well-located to some of the best hiking trails in the area. We also enjoyed seeing the cows grazing next door each day. Highly recommend!

Great porch and front yard with ample room inside

  • 5 of 5

The house is well appointed with a great view, great porch, nice furnishings and plenty of outdoor space for kids to run around (something unique in this area where most places with a view are literally hanging off a bluff.)

Came in late July with a group of 8 (5 adults, (2) eight year olds, and a four year old) to celebrate one of the eight year olds birthdays. Arrived on Friday afternoon and the kids immediately started playing football, baggo and other games in the front yard. Strung up a hammock between some pine trees and enjoyed the wonderful view from the front porch.

I was a little confused in the pictures of the houses layout with multiple dining spaces but it worked out perfect. The kids at in the kitchen at the table and bar there and the adults enjoyed the view from the nice table in the dining room.

We drove an hour on Saturday and floated from Grinders Ferry to Gilbert, with a mandatory stop at Coursey's to get some smoked meat and cheese. Cooked some steaks on the charcoal grill and then made s'mores back by the fire ring.

On Sunday we woke up and watched the fog lift out of the valley, then headed over to Lost Valley to hike the trails.

The daily visits from the neighboring cows and dog, and catching lightning bugs where also highlights for the kids.

Thank you so much for sharing your home. Plenty of room for everyone. The view from the front porch was absolutely beautiful. Had everything we needed in the way of meal prep and all the other comforts of home. Will definitely be coming back

Elk Festival weekend

  • 5 of 5

5 adults and 2 children and a baby had a very good, relaxing weekend. The view was excellent and the location was great for us--desiring to spend time on the buffalo river swimming, time at the elk festival in Jasper, and watching elk in the Boxley Valley.

Great location, clean, had everything we needed

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at the Coffey place. It was clean, had everything that we needed and was very close to the canoe rental - Kyles Landing - about 1/2 mile drive. Perfect place outback for campfire - chairs (about 8) are already set up around the campfire. Grill was there and was perfect. We loved the large front yard as we played a family baseball game - plastic ball and bat 😊 Beds were clean and comfortable. We loved the big table in the dining room for family dinners at night. We brought our own DVD's and watched a movie one night. The house is big enough for everyone to do their own thing inside and outside. It was perfect and very quiet. We got to see the cows and their babies in the fenced yard next to the house. We brought our weiner dog and he loved the big yard.

We will DEFINITELY book this house on our yearly family trip to the Buffalo.

We did go to Horseshoe Canyon. Very short drive from the house to zip line on Sunday but they are closed on Sunday's. We will zip line on Friday next year!! Thank you for the use of your house to enjoy the Buffalo with family ❤️
