unbelievable!

  • 5 of 5

Let me begin by saying that the owners are the most caring people. They went out of their way to accommodate my complicated medical situation-making my trip even more memorable. Their home is spectacular and unique in addition to being central to our explorations in Provence. The caretaker, Dorothee and her partner were gracious and attentive. The home was Superbly well equipped, immaculate and intriguing. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Loved every minute of it.. and miss it already. ! Thank you Carol and Kathy

Clearly this is a much loved property - understandably so. It has charm, comfort and style.

  • 5 of 5

The kitchen is generously equipped for a rental property, offering an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic cook to use the local produce. There are several nooks for guests to read privately or watch television independently. The front walled garden is especially beautiful for luncheon or evening drinks together. The house has been cleverly designed to offer light-filled spaces (such as the study) as well as other cosy corners when the weather does not support outside dining or wine-tasting. The bathroom and sleeping facilities are highly desirable for 2 couples to share without compromising privacy. The Conciergerie which the proprietors employ in their absence provides an excellent professional service in liaising with guests re arrival and departure (as well as managing queries in between). I would be delighted to return to enjoy the benefits of this beautiful maison de village. Local restaurants are welcoming and of a good quality. Local services such as supermarkets, Sylvie's wine cellars and the local butcher all offer quality produce and advice. The whole village has a friendly atmosphere and allows easy access to nearby towns, monuments and a range of French historical sites in Provence for both the first time visitor and the old hand.

A six star stay in a wonderful house

  • 5 of 5

It was a delight to spend a week in this house. It is spacious, utterly comfortable and beautifully equipped and maintained. The furnishings and appliances are high quality, the towels soft and plentiful, the linen is fine and the beds are comfortable. We loved the ample supply of power points, a good heating system for the occasional cold morning and a house book with clear and useful instructions. The house is filled with light (not quite captured in the photos) and is amazingly quiet and private given its location on the edge of the old town. I could go on, but previous reviews have said it all. Kathy and Carol were very easy to deal with – responsive and well organised. Their contact person, Dorothée, was marvellous. An early email from her a few days in advance confirmed arrangements. On arrival she gave us a comprehensive introduction to the workings of the house and provided the most generous and carefully-selected ‘welcome basket’ of provisions we have ever encountered. All that, plus a call from Carol soon after arrival to check that all was ok, plus an unobtrusive mid-week clean, really did make us feel incredibly pampered and welcome. We liked Fontvieille. It’s a friendly, working village (not a tourist museum) with plenty of food options (self-catering and restaurants) within easy walking distance. We appreciated being able to park right outside, with easy access to the surrounding towns and countryside. Thank you Kathy and Carol for a six star stay.

Perfect in Provence

  • 5 of 5

We shared a perfect week in Provence staying at the charming home in the village of Fontvieille. The home is located in walking distance of restaurants, bakeries and shopping in the quaint village and easy driving to all the major attractions of the Provence region. The home was well appointed and a comfortable base to experience life in Provence which was exactly what we were looking for in our time away. The rooms were perfect for two couples with spaces to eat and relax in both outdoor and indoor. The kitchen is incredibly equipped for cooking those great meals you learn about as you experience the local cuisine. The fridge was even stocked with starters and wine. We especially liked a little restaurant in town recommended by the owners and house manager. We had a wonderful time and can only hope to return again. Denver and Pam Bitner

Great House=Better than the pictures

  • 5 of 5

We were so sad to leave this beautiful home. We have travelled quite a lot over the years and NEVER had the pleasure of staying in a home where we felt so welcomed. The owners are obviously generous people who want their paying guests to be as comfortable as they would be living here.

Although Carol and Kathy were not here, they put Dorothee in charge and we felt we were in good hands should we have a problem. As it turned out, we only had a question about the lights and got an immediate response from the owner, Carol.

The home is located in a small friendly town on a quiet street. The location was perfect for our many sidetrips to other interesting towns and cities in the area. We enjoyed out 5 minute walks to stock up on bread, croissants and meats and cooked dishes and ate at L'Ami Provencal which was recommended by the owners and the food was very good.

Being a teacher of cooking, I was especially appreciative of the top quality pots and pans, plates, cutlery, sharp knives etc. The linens were white and clean and the bed was especially comfortable.

Our first impression of the house was one of lightness and brightness yet it was warm, colorful and cheerful. So, not one negative thing to ssay about this oasis in provence. Sincerely, Dr. and Mrs. Friedman and family

An Amazing Place!!!

  • 5 of 5

This house is what France is all about. A beautiful old house that has been renovated to an extremely high standard but still retains all its original characteristics. It is tucked away from the road in a quiet area of the town but is within easy walking distance of everything you need. The house has everything you could want and is ideally suited to the very hot weather, i.e. very cool when its most needed as it was extremely hot while we were there.

Kathy and Carol (he is s very funny man!!!) were there to greet us on arrival and showed us around the house which made you feel very welcome. They are both extremely warm and friendly and having them living next door meant that is you have any issues, they are quickly sorted.

The town of Fontvielle is typically French with an array of shops, bakeries, restaurants , etc and everybody is very friendly and helpful. We walked into town and had fresh bread & pastries every morning and the restaurants serve amazing food.

The surrounding area is so picturesque and there are so many historic sights to see in the surrounding towns and villages, its like travelling back in time!!!

Overall, this was truly amazing place to stay, making it a holiday we will both truly remember.

Thank you so much Carol and Kathy for letting stay in your wonderful house, we hope we can come back again sometime in the future???

Best Wishes

Chris & Jill
