We loved the house. It had everything we needed. Was very clean, right on the beach, and we loved the big TV in the living room to watch the ohio state game. I would definitely stay here again.
The cottage was clean and well equipped with ample bedroom space. It was located a short walk from the down town area. The Bathroom was a little small for a family of five but workable (no counter space with a plastic accordian door). A stones throw from the coastline, but not a swimmable beach.
This property is wonderfully kept and managed. The owner Ron was available and timely assisting us with any questions! He also took the time out of his day to swing through and make sure we were finding everything we needed. It's a short walk to a beautiful beach with a park, and a doable yet sobering walk from the strip. It was the perfect distance to enjoy the offerings of the night life while also being able to relax peacefully by the fire pit. There is Uber available) This home literally has anything you would need including linens, a coffee maker, and on site laundry. It was very clean, and up to date with a cute homey vibe. What a wonderful and easy getaway!
We are a family of 4 who booked this place because it's NOT on the strip! Just east of the Geneva Township Park, it sits among a few other rentals owned by the same owner allowing us to access the lake for sunset-watching, beach-glass collecting and a little fishing with the kids. It's an easy drive to the strip or to points east of town.
Inside, the owner has taken an older cottage and given it a new life. We liked having 3 bedrooms, laundry ability, and sufficient storage in the bathroom and kitchen. Because it's an old, quirky place, you should know the bath is sufficient but not spacious. It has a smallish sink area, but lots of cabinets for keeping things tidy. I used the dresser & mirrors in the master bedroom when I needed space to spread out. You should also know there are funky accordion doors on the bathroom and one of the bedrooms--fine as long as everyone respects everyone else's privacy! It's freshly painted, cleaned well, bright and comfy, and feels roomy for being a smaller place. Nice touch: little hotel toiletries! To die for: those awesomely soft blankies in the cedar chest.
I always cook on vacations, so I like to know what a place has and what I need to bring.
Has: plenty of dishes, glasses and flatware; a small steamer, a crockpot! Adequate pots, pans and cookie sheets, bottle openers, dish towels.
Bring: a bigger stock pot, a good chef's knife, 13x9" baking pan if you use them, mixing bowls for mixing and serving, cooking utensils (spatula, slotted spoon) grilling utensils (didn't see any but didn't grill this time) Bring hangers if you need them.
This was a great little place for starting and ending our days at the lake. May be too small for wheelchairs or walkers, but one-level living makes it very suitable for seniors or other disabilities. Affordable price allows adventure-seekers to spend their money on activities. May need baby-proofing for very young children.
My friends and I were so pleased with our stay at this home while visiting Geneva on the Lake! The home was incredibly clean, with fresh towels in the bathroom and adorable bedspreads in each room. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary utensils and there were even brochures for various places in the area. The location was also phenomenal - as it was close to the strip and was also just a minute walk to the water. I would recommend this place 100%!
This cottage is adorable. It is clean and spacious and pretty well stocked with everything you need for a relaxing fun vacation. The owner is wonderful. He even checked with us to be sure everything was ok. I would go back again and again.
