On The Beach, 4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, Large Pool And Gracious Outdoor Living Spaces
Casa Torre is on the beach in Punta del Burro, one of Puerto Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit’s most desirable neighborhoods -- and beaches! It’s a private haven for relaxing, surfing, whale-watching, long beach walks, and getting away from it all -- but not too far away! Puerto Vallarta is only 40 minutes, and Punta Mita, Sayulita, and San Pancho are even closer. La Cruz and Bucerias are also nearby.
Constructed in 2015, Casa Torre is perfect for couples or a large family. Its 3 master suites frame broad views to the ocean and lush gardens -- and each suite’s 5-piece bath is a sumptuous surprise. The main floor master includes a private terrace, while those above share a large terrace -- and amazing views of the Bay of Banderas. The spacious 4th bedroom with private bath overlooks a lush front garden, soothing waters dripping from pond to pond, and the casa’s namesake, a stone bell tower. The suite is furnished with twin beds that can be converted to another king.
Outdoor living areas overlook the beach and include a large infinity-edge pool; huge palapa- covered terrace with seating for shaded lounging, whale-watching, and sunset cocktails; and outdoor dining beneath a classic wood pergola. Your stairway to the beach curves through beautiful gardens to a private, pergola-shaded seaside spot complete with hammocks!
Shared time indoors at Casa Torre will be spent in a super-sized great room with beautifully defined areas for living, dining, and kitchen -- and floor-to-ceiling views of the outdoor living areas and ocean beyond. The presentation-style kitchen includes upscale appliances, handmade copper sink, antique chopping island, and slab granite counters that extend to spacious serving, socializing, and bar areas. The dining area features authentic Mexican dining and serving furnishings, and a few steps below, the large living area offers tropical furnishings and Mexican decor. There’s whole-house air conditioning and water purification. Wifi is also provided.

About Linda Downing
Your hosts are from Colorado, but live nearly year-round in Punta del Burro -- next door. Retired design firm partners, they have built 3 additional homes in Punta del Burro -- as well as basically reconstructing their own home.
Why Linda Downing chose Bahía de Banderas
Casa Torre's owners discovered Punta del Burro in the late 1990's -- after they had already purchased a small home on the beach in La Cruz. Mexico had been their family's gathering place for holidays since the mid 1980's, and now, even though the "children" were adults, all wanted to continue to come to Mexico TOGETHER -- with their young families! We were lucky enough to discover Punta del Burro while we were trying to decide what to do about our too-small home. A real challenge in those days, because the dirt road into the neighborhood changed its course and/or became impassable with every major rain! And then, as today, there was nothing at the highway identifying where that road might lead! It was basically access to a beautiful beach, a great surf break -- and a few homes scattered along and above the beach. We were also lucky to find a modest 8-year-old home on that beach that had scared everyone else away -- because of it's "design challenges." It was mostly unattractive, and it's small 1-bedroom living area sat on top of a maze of storage and utility rooms. Outdoor living area was nearly non-existent. But the challenges were solutions to our growing family's desire to gather as often as possible in Mexico -- and we just happened to notice that the house was on one of the most remarkable lots in the neighborhood! Amazing views, private access to the beach, and the ability to build a "new house" under the old -- even closer to the beach! It wasn't long after we settled in and built and sold a house on the upper street that we decided to purchase the property next door -- which is where Casa Torre now sits! We built 2 additional homes on the upper street before Casa Torre. We also own the adjacent vacant lot
What makes this House unique
Very few vacation locations offer the unique benefits of Punta del Burro and Casa Torre. You are literally "away from it all" on a gorgeous beach -- but not so far to be inconvenient or to suffer any discomforts. The neighborhood is small and lovely, with a gated entry and 24-hour security. The beach is long and walkable -- and Casa Torre "owns" its own piece of it with private access and a shaded pergola. Casa Torre is luxurious -- yet casually furnished for comfort and convenience. Its walls and niches are adorned with colorful art and artifacts. Its kitchen is a place to gather and cook and drink and celebrate your wise choice of rentals -- or you can move your celebration outdoors to the large social palapa or outdoor dining room!

Simply the Best
We've stayed in other homes in the area and Casa Torre can't be outdone for overall value! Over-the-top location and exclusive access to the beach, amenities for cooking, and living spaces indoors and out. Extraordinary comfort, furnishing, fixtures and charm. Stayed with two other couples and easy to be on your own in this space. Cooking and the grill made meals interactive and lingering into the evening unforgettable with friends, all before a beach fire prepped daily for you by friendly background staff. Extra rental of car for local excursions and affordable chef-on-demand made this vacation one of the best ever. Linda and Bruce where excellent hosts, have excellent local knowledge, and where unseen but easily available. Beach toys made getting in the ocean an easy and fun alternative if floating in the cool blue pool with an umbrella drink wasn't enough. If you surf, use one of the shorter tri-fins if the SUPS aren't your style. Can't go wrong.
We stayed at Casa Torre and the Teen Suite of Casa Linda this past spring break. We were thrilled with the home and Linda's care to make sure our stay was perfect. She answered my endless questions prior to arrival.
Our group of 10 (two families with teenagers) styed for 8 days in their extremely comfotable home. Along with easy, on the beach, access, we made use of their surf, boogie and SUP boards. Our entire group enjoyed the beach games, beautiful gardens and fabulous TV for watching the Final Four. Linda recommended a chef which made our trip that much more luxurious. We enjoyed ceviche on the gorgeous terrance as well as on the beach in their shaded lounge area.
The surf break is a 3 min walk down the beach suitable for beginner to advanced surfers. After surfing, we floated on rafts in the pool conveniently located where the action is.The temperature was just right!
The bedrooms are lovely: new towels and sheets and very comfortable beds. Linda's decorations are beautiful and she even supplies sunhats in each room.
We made use of the airport pick-up and Bruce could not have been nicer and more timely. He was a great tour guide on the trip to Casa Torre.
We would go back and recommend Casa Torre to all. Enjoy!

Just returned from one of the best vacations ever! We have stayed in Punto Del Burro many times over the years at different properties and this house was by far the best we have ever stayed in! The house is beautiful, well appointed, extremely well maintained and very comfortable for families. We have college aged children and everyone had their own space when they wanted it. The beach is incredibly beautiful and private with great swimming and surfing. The pool was very inviting as well. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient and Linda and Bruce were very accommodating. They did everything they could to make our stay memorable and we all returned to LA with wonderful memories and tremendous desire to go back as soon as possible!
AMAZING BEYOND WORDS
I cannot say enough about this vacation rental and Bruce and Linda's accommodating and helpful style. From the infinity pool and patio to the well appointed kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms, the house is clean and beautifully designed (by Bruce) and decorated (by Linda). From the moment we stepped into this amazing property until the day we reluctantly left we were happy as clams and wanted for nothing. We were on a family vacation with ages 14 to 79 and every single one of us will never forget how special this property and our stay there was. There was something for everyone to enjoy. The location is close to the town of Punta de Mita and Sayulita and we made daily runs there for a little adventure before we dropped back in each day to the comfort of the Punta del Burro compound. The beach in front of the house is perfect and we spent a lot of time collecting shells, boogie boarding, surfing and swimming or just relaxing in the hammocks. Our wonderful house keeper Cheena and her grounds keeping husband Tony making sure everything was tidy each day was an added and included bonus. We also arranged through Pablo, the wonderful house manager, to have Rosia cook meals for us on many of the days we were there and I highly recommend that at least for a few meals as it freed up our time for more adventure and less shopping and chopping. Anyone that wants to drop out into a magical, tropical, beautiful space will not be disappointed. I cannot think of one negative about this place. I was pinching myself every day we were here, it felt like a dream. It's going to take me a long time to come down off this high. We didn't want to leave and we cannot wait to go back.

We stayed in this beautiful beach house for four nights. We expected it to be nice from the pictures but it was even better than we expected. This is house is brand new. Four good sized bedrooms all with their own large bath rooms. From the minute you drive through the private guarded gate yu can tell this is a special neighborhood. The house is 20 steps above the sand, just enough to give you a great view up and down the beach. The surfing was great right out in front of the house and their is a very good point/reef break, Burros, just a 5 minute walk down the beach. The house is laid out so well and there are numerous sitting areas where even if you went with four couples you could have plenty of space and privacy to yourself. I don't know if they are always there but each day of our stay included maid service and a groundskeeper that would rake the sand of your footprints from the before. There was a list of instructions in the house that explained how to work the air conditioners, etc. Lot's of great breakfast/lunch and dinner restaurants very close by. We will definitely be back.
We loved this beautiful house on the beach overlooking Banderas Bay! The location is incredible-stairs lead to what feels like a private beach with palm trees, hammocks and very few people. The house itself is large and has a lot of nice outdoor spaces including a beautiful garden courtyard-entry and plenty of outdoor seating and dining areas. While this was an adult only trip, the house is perfect for families. We will definitely be back with the kids!
Your private casa in Punta del Burro is perfectly located for exploring the beautiful, fun, and surprising places and adventures of Riviera Nayarit -- or just hanging out in your own pool, palapa, or beach pergola! Punta Mita, Sayulita, and La Cruz are minutes away; Puerto Vallarta is 40 minutes. Anclote Beach at Punta Mita has a great restaurant collection -- also surf and paddle board gear and lessons. Nearby Punta Mita Resort golf courses are outstanding -- and the newer Littibu golf course is beautiful and surprisingly affordable. Sayulita and its quirky charm and popular beach are only a few minutes farther away. Lunch on the beach at Don Pedro's is as good as it gets. For a surprising adventure, drive a bit further up the coast and check out a polo match in San Pancho! Driving from Punta del Burro towards Vallarta, La Cruz is home to beautiful Marina Nayarit, its popular Sunday Market, and more good restaurants. Only minutes beyond La Cruz -- on the main highway to Vallarta -- Bucerias has a fun tianguis market, art galleries, and more great places to eat! Puerto Vallarta, about an hour's drive to Centro, is a beautiful city with walkable streets and an art-studded pedestrian Malencon stretching from Centro to Old Town. It passes the main plaza, where you can "detour" to Vallarta's lovely Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral. Cuale Island is another possible detour, a shaded and enchanting stroll. Too many galleries to visit in one day -- but you can hit many of them on Wednesday's Art Walk evenings. A favorite shopping -- and eating -- street is Basilio Badillo, extending from the Federal Highway intersection to the Los Muertos end of the Malencon. Driving south from Vallarta, day trip possibilities include El Nogalito, Los Arcos, Mismaloya Beach, Boca de Tomatlan, the zoo, Chico's Paradise, and Vallarta's amazing Botanical Gardens. All worth a visit -- but not possible in one day! We often combine one of them with a trip to the Gardens.
