About Jeff and Linda Williams

We live in Alaska and came to vacation in Loreto in 2014. We quickly fell in love with the small town and friendly atmosphere and decided to buy this property as retirement home to escape the cold and long Alaska winters.

Jeff and Linda Williams purchased this villa in 2015

Why Jeff and Linda Williams chose Loreto

This property was successfully operated as a Bed and Breakfast and outdoor Wedding location for over15 years. The previous owners sold it to us with its original furnishings and authentic décor. The home is so spacious and relaxing - perfect for two couples to each have their own private areas or for a mulit-generational family. In addition to the two suites that were formerly the rooms used for the B&B, we have added a 3rd bedroom with 1 single bed and 1 queen bed. There is also 2 roll-away bed that can be set up in one of the master suites for a younger children. For young adults or older children there is a sleeping loft with 2 4" futons. We have a !4 foot swim spa that can be heated or cooled also doubles as a 10 person hot tub.

What makes this villa unique

We bought this home because of the easy walk down the beach to reach town and the authentic feel of living in town rather than a resort community. Our private upper decks make you feel like your are completely secluded, yet when you step outside of our gate you are in a friendly neighborhood (many neighbors speak English) and part of the local community. The best part is the Beach is right there.

Jeff and his wife Linda, are wonderful people! they made us feel so welcome, and were great about helping us navigate around town and finding things we needed. Jorge whom was recommended by Jeff took us fishing and snorkeling, and we had a fantastic time! Caught so much fish, we had plenty for our 10 days plus we gave some to Jorge, he filleted all of it for us and wow so delicious and fresh..We are already planning our next visit.

Great House - very spacious

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house. Plenty of room for everyone. We are two couples who travel together frequently and really enjoyed having ample space to ourselves. Leti and David were fabulous and met us when we arrived. The cool tub was a great way to unwind. The views were amazing. Super simple to walk to the beach. Town is also walkable, but we were actually thankful to have a car so we could drive to dinner and back as well as to some of the outlying areas. Definitely not required though. A trip to Coronado island is a MUST. Jorge visited us on the first day and set us up to take us there and it was a super trip. Just make sure to communicate very clearly with him. He misunderstood that our husbands wanted to go fishing and came to the house at 7am and when he didn’t answe he banged on the downstairs window to wake us up. The house felt safe and everyone in town is extremely friendly. Orlando’s is a must - amazing breakfast and dinner. The coffee shop next to cafe Ole does amazing art on their coffee and the coffee at Sea Coffee was tasty. There are a couple of grocery stores and we found Ley to be the most reasonable. The owners were very responsive and friendly. They have kayaks and bikes and coolers and beach gear in the garage that came in handy and they have full washers and dryers. It was a great trip and this house is definitely top Notch. I recommend without hesitation.

You will definitely want to stay here!!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented other houses in Mexico and this one by far has been the best. The house has all modern amenities but still has the authentic Mexican look and feel. Leticia, the housekeeper, was very friendly and accommodating. My father and husband used Jorge to go fishing and had a great time. Jorge's English was limited, but he gave them a fair price and had newer fishing gear. They caught many fish and we had a local restaurant, Mi Loreto, cook them for us. The food was amazing!! On the ocean side of the house is a grove of trees that were full of birds. We are not official "Bird Watchers" but thoroughly enjoyed watching a family of quail. The hot/cool tub was amazing. We visited in June and spent most of the hot afternoons cooling off in the giant tub. The beds and air conditioners in the bedrooms were top notch. We all got wonderful sleep and woke up to the most beautiful sun rises. With other VRBOs we have always had a hard time getting our deposit refund, even though we have never damaged anything, but the owners of the house were honest and quick to refund our deposit. The house overall was wonderful and we will stay here again and again. Thank you so much Jeff and Linda Williams.

Wonderful place to stay in Loreto!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year staying at this property, and plan on going back again next year. The owners live nearby and were available for help in recommending grocery stores, hikes, fishing guides and much more. We watched whales rolling and slapping their tails every day. You can easily walk in to town, and there are bikes in very good condition available as well. Loreto is a fairly quiet, laid back town but can be quite active and vibrant at times depending on different festivals and events going on.

Our new favorite place!

  • 5 of 5

My wife, myself, my two sisters and one life-friend stayed here for two weeks. We have been all over Mexico and wanted to try a non-touristy place, on the water, as a change. First off, we fell in love with Loreto right off the bat, as you feel so at home here! When we got to the house Jeff greeted us, and made us feel like family! The size of the house was more than roomy for all five of us and accommodated us perfectly, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. We were all very impressed with how comfortable the beds were! (something you don't get everywhere) As the days went on I had conversations with my family about how staying here felt so at home, almost like one of our own homes. We used the kitchen a lot and found it to be well stocked. We did two fishing trips with Jorge (recommended by Jeff) and caught a lot of fish on both trips! We had fresh fish almost every night! We also gave a lot of fish to Jorge to give to families. We did a lot of snorkeling using Jorge and his family. We primarily came to the Sea of Cortes for the snorkeling, as other places we have traveled, we have had visibility or rough water issues. Not here! This house has a huge garage attached with all the accessories you will need. Kayaks, bicycles, snorkeling gear, life vests and a great fish cleaning station ( Jorge is a master at filleting, no bones in any of our fillets). Letichia the house cleaner was as sweet as she was thorough in her cleaning! Jorge's daughter, Heidi, is a Massage Therapist who came to the house and did massages for us, very relaxing!! The views from this house are great especially the sunrises over the Sea of Cortes, and at times can include horses grazing in a field. This house is an authentic but very comfortable property! Although we rented a car (because we like to be mobile) you don't need one. The Deli, the "Gringo Market" and all the restaurants that Jeff and Linda recommended, were all great!! We did a lot on this trip and found that fishing and snorkeling was half the cost of Cabo and others. We were told that Loreto would be like Cabo was years ago before overpopulated and that is so true! Jeff and Linda were at our beckon call the whole time. A simple text to them for anything got a quick response! Same with Leticia! This is truly a great place in a great town with great people and plenty of affordable things to do!! We will be back and I speak for my whole family who shared this great experience!! Thank You sooo much Jeff and Linda!!!

A Birdwatchers paradise, you can identify several species of birds without leaving the patio. Great snorkeling and scuba areas close by, and we have personal recommendations for fish charters and tour captains. We highly recommend the 19 mile drive inland to see the small town of San Javier and its mission built in 1699. Tour books made us wary of this site because of its curvy road, but we were pleasantly surprised that it is just a slow road, not curves with a cliff below. The 19 mile trek can be easily driven in 40 minutes.
