Very Nice Cabin for the Area

  • 4 of 5

We just wanted to get away for the week-end. We weren't looking for a honeymoon suite, but we weren't looking for a fishing cabin either. This fit the ticket, and from what I've seen, this is the nicest cabin you'll find in the area. If we ever look to get away to Realfoot again, this is the cabin we'll be looking for.

Not a prime vacation stay for couples

  • 1 of 5

The property description gave the impression of having use of the whole

Property. We had one room and the communal area was locked. There was nothing in the kitchen. Not even a spoon to measure our coffee. Not having anything to cover the big window made us uncomfortable. At night anyone could walk up and see into our room. We rigged up a sheet with coat hangers for privacy. The sheets smelled

Musty. Just a little extra, like a complimentary bar of soap would have made the difference. The owner obviously makes money off The lodge from group hunting and fishing . We as a couple would have liked some kitchen supplies to cook the fish that we may have caught and just as an option to eating out. The lake is beautiful but lodging in the area is rustic. The owner seemed nice on the phone and responded to our questions promptly. If you come when the lily pads are out look for somewhere else to fish and launch a boat because they are thick around the dock.

Great place!

Allen was a great host, super responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. The view from the room was beautiful. The nearby restaurant was wonderful. I highly recommend and plan on returning.

Better than expected. Cozy comfort. Beautiful lakefront view with screened in balcony, and dock.

Very lovely accommodations. Only drawback is small bathroom and tight shower space. Two way window provides great view of lake and privacy, too. Nice family restaurant within easy walking distance.

Beautiful inside and out, but needs supplies

  • 3 of 5

Well, it is considered a "hunting" cabin so I guess the owners are used to hunters and fishers that don't require much. But, there was absolutely no cookware other than two wine glasses, limited silverware, and a spatula. We had to inform the owner that there were no steak knives and the neighbor brought some over. We had to cook everything in aluminum foil, which we had brought ourselves. There were also no outdoor lights for the lower deck accessible, so we weren't able to enjoy the dock after it got dark. Bring a lantern. There was however an abundant supply of towels and bed linens, and another neighbor came by to check on us, which was nice. The view of the lake is beautiful, and the cabin itself is quite nice and homey. You can fish right off the dock! Owner definitely needs to supply more of the "everyday" things though.
