About Allison and Mark Walsh
We are a couple who reside in New Dundee Ontario who grew up and went to school in Toronto, Ontario. Our 2 children are now grown and independent. We look forward to sharing our home with you.
Allison and Mark Walsh purchased this Cottage in 2012
Why Allison and Mark Walsh chose Lot 41
Our family of 4, born and raised in Ontario, took a family vacation to Prince Edward Island in 2003 and that is when we fell in love with the island way of life. We have visited every summer since, until finally purchasing our summer cottage in 2012. The warm summer sands, the incredible views, access to live theatre and world class golfing are some of the main attractions which drew us there year after year. While our 2 children are grown up now, they still manage to visit their childhood summer destination every year. Be careful, you too might lose your heart to PEI, just like we did.
What makes this Cottage unique
We fell in love with our home primarily because of its excellent location close to beaches, Greenwich National Park, St. Peter's Bay and the main towns of Souris and Montague with their many amenities. We have made our home a warm inviting place for family, friends and our guests who return to us year after year.

We found the house full of character and equipped with everything needed for a great stay. The location worked well for us as we wanted to spend time in the immediate area at Greenwich Nat Park, Basin Head Beach and stopping at lighthouses along the East Points Coastal Dr. We spent another day visiting the Anne sights, witnessing a beautiful sunset at Cavendish Beach, and having the best dinner of our three week Atlantic Maritimes trip at The Blue Mussel Cafe in North Rustico, a very scenic little fishing village. You might also want to find some time to chat with John, the property manager. He was able to share shipwreck stories and interesting local history.
Roomy and we'll kept. The manager responded promptly to the few issues we had in wasp nest under the porch and a broken hose on the barbecue.
So sorry, Terry, that wasps decided to reside under the front stairs during your stay but I agree, our property manager is very prompt and is always ready to solve any problem. He also fixed the barbecue hose. Thanks for bringing that to our attention.
Greenwich Gables felt like home.
We loved everything about Greenwich Gables. It is clean, cozy, charming and so thoroughly outfitted with everything we needed for a week-long, pleasurable stay. It is close to our favourite places on the Island: Greenwich National Park, Basin Head beach, Charlottetown, Georgetown and St. Peter's (for fresh seafood at the fish market). It is also very close to Cable Head beach which was a new discovery for us. Great place for morning walks with the dog, refreshing afternoon swims and lovely sunset viewing in the evening. A wonderful spot to stay.
A beautiful house in a great location, super well equipped and comfortable.
Allison and Mark's place was perfect for our two week stay in PEI. Other than the mosquitos we had absolutely no complaints, and would stay there again. Thank you for making this place available so that families like ours could have a memorable vacation.
Great vacation spot
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greenwich Gables. The owners have made every effort to ensure their guests have a wonderful stay. We toured the island during the day and relaxed in very pleasant and comfortable surroundings in the evening.
Lovely house, wonderful service, perfect location!
Prince Edward Island is a beautiful place, and Greenwich Gables is located in one of the most stunning parts of the Island. The house is just minutes away from the spectacular PEI National Park-Greenwich Unit in one direction and a quiet, family-friendly beach in the other. Rental includes use of the house bikes and a free park pass, which is very convenient. I wish we could have gone to the park and the beach every day.
PEI is surprisingly big, so we had to do a lot of driving--but Greenwich Gables is a good, central hub for day trips. At the end of the day, we'd come home tired and happy, cook a quick meal, and relax in the cozy sitting area. The inside of the house is nicely furnished and uncluttered--very tasteful yet unfussy. Upstairs, the layout of the den is a little odd (the doors and the open pullout bed conflict), but the beds are all comfortable. Downstairs, the kitchen is gorgeous and seems to be newly renovated. Coffee, spices, and even a bottle of wine were there when we arrived. I only wish there had been a dish rack for drying dishes. Wi-fi worked decently for such a remote location, but we did have some problems when trying to work over the slow connection. The lesson for us: Don't work on vacation!
Allison, the owner, was the perfect host--gracious, responsive, and responsible. She and Emily, the property manager, sent detailed and helpful emails before check-in. During the stay, Allison answered my questions about biking directions, etc., promptly and enthusiastically. After the stay, when I realized I forgot my laundry in the dryer, she and Emily made sure it got back to me.
Our stay on Prince Edward Island was one of our best vacations ever. Everyone in my family (my husband, my two sons, and I) loved the Island--and Greenwich Gables!
Thank you for your kind words. Just thought I'd mention that we have noticed the slower than usual internet connection and have taken steps to correct this. We have purchased a signal boosting system, which has boosted signal strength and speeded up the connection as a result.
Thanks for pointing this out.
We have also purchased a dish dryer rack. An oversight on my part.
