We renovated our home with French Provencal touches and kept the classic San Francisco architecture, including vaulted ceilings, arches and detailed moulding. Sleeps six comfortably (One King, one Queen, + two single beds pushed together - King with a crack!) and has 2 1/2 bathrooms. Wake up to a tremendous view of the Outer Sunset and Pacific Ocean. At night, curl up by gas fire, and relax in one of two large living rooms (upstairs and downstairs). This home comes with easy all day free street parking.
The architecture includes an inner courtyard, with French doors which open to natural light. This is a great area for relaxing during the day. The backyard has a grill, a deck and a an intimate gas fireplace, for enjoying the sunset, and an enclosed, "Spring Free" trampoline for ultimate safety.
There is one large television with streaming channels from Netflix, Hulu, and lots of other channels, as well as a PS3, and Wii console, with some children's games.
Our home is not conducive for small children due to a deck with no railing and stairs without safety gate.
Updated kitchen includes microwave, espresso machine, Vitamix blender, and gas stove/oven.
PARKING: ample, FREE street parking, no hourly restrictions. Some street cleaning occurs on 1st and 3rd Friday of the month, between 12pm and 2pm. This schedule is on our side of the street only. Please observe signs posted on the opposite side and other streets. You can leave your car parked all day on the street while you explore the City.
NOTE: We have two indoor/outdoor cats. However, there is no odor of animals, based on what friends tell us. We ask that you feed them the provided food 2x/day for both sets of animals. The cats come in and out during the day, and are brought in at night. Required care also includes changing the litter box periodically. Thanks!
This is the first season we are renting with VRBO. We take our children to be with their grandparents every summer in Pennsylvania and rent our home during this time. We have lived in San Francisco for over twenty years and hope you catch the same magic of this city, which keeps us here today!
We are on the west side of the city about 10 minutes from the beach which you can see from our house. We are 7 blocks from Golden Gate park and a 10 min car ride to the Golden Gate Bridge and Twin Peaks. If you plan to rent a car, we have super easy all day parking which is rare in the city!
We were a group of 6 adults and had a wonderful time during our stay at this lovely home. They house is beautiful and has everything you would want from a place while staying in San Francisco. The views are gorgeous! It was very nice to have a back porch with such an amazing view of the city! Like previous posters said, the cats are no problem at all! They actually added an extra element of fun to our stay. We are animal lovers so it's always nice to interact with some sweet felines! In addition to that, Alex and Amy are a delight to work with. They responded very quickly to any emails we sent and were very accommodating. We had two vehicles and were able to park one in the driveway and found parking on the street for the other. There was a Starbucks and grocery store conveniently close and downtown is about a 10 to 15 minute drive away. We felt very safe and secure at the house. It's on a quiet street - so a nice retreat from the hectic downtown area. My husband and I loved the basement space of the house. It felt like our own private living area. It was also nice to have access to a computer and Netflix as well. I can't really think of anything this house didn't provide. The only issue we had was that they ask us to wash all sheets and towels before we checked out. That was hard to do with a 11:00 am checkout but they accommodated us and said to just do what we could before we checked out. Also, there are a good amount of stairs to the front door and going down into the basement/TV/living room area, so would not recommend to those that have mobility issues. Highly recommend!!!
Amy and Alex are wonderful; as is their home. They were both very attentive in making sure everything met our needs when we arrived. Our needs were not only met, but exceeded. Their home was just as advertised. The views are spectacular. Every morning I sat in the master bedroom, at the table and relaxed, gazing out the window. The grocery store is within walking distance and we walked almost daily to purchase snacks, wine, lunch meat for a picnic, etc. The backyard & deck area is divine. Our daughter really enjoyed the trampoline! Have I mentioned the location? It was perfect. Oh and I almost forgot to comment about my findings!! I found one of the hidden staircases within the neighborhood. I was thrilled!! The cats we're no trouble at all. We had a car and parking was a non-issue. We were on the go the entire time we were in San Fransisco and it was nice to have a safe, secure , and quiet neighborhood to return to in the late evening hour. We enjoyed our stay and if ever we are in San Fransisco again, we are hopeful we are able to secure their wonderful home again.
We enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful and you can see the ocean from the bedroom windows and back deck. We had a car and were able to park in the driveway of the house so never had to worry about street parking. Very close to a large grocery store and restaurants. When we wanted to go downtown we walked or drove to a muni station and rode the train into town. The house is very close to Golden Gate park and the Ocean but not close enough to walk. I was alittle worried about the cats but they were no problem and very friendly. We would stay again - especially with our two teenagers. It was nice that everyone had a room to themselves. I would not recommend this rental to anyone with mobility challenges because of the stairs to the front door and to the first floor of the house.
Wonderful house that is comfortable and well appointed. The views from the upstairs bedrooms and the deck are spectacular. The neighborhood is quite. We did not have a car but there was plenty of parking on the street. The house is convenient to the munibus a 10 minute walk. There is a Safeway grocery store 6 blocks away. The cats are great and their care easy. Amy was very accommodating and answered all our questions promptly. We would all stay there again a wonderful and comfortable retreat after a long day sightseeing. For transportation we purchased a multiple day munipass that will pay for itself if you want to ride the cablecars at $7 a ride. You can purchase at Walgreens and other locations. You need exact change for bus fare most bus drivers were very helpful with bus routes. With no car we took a 6 hour tour with Dylan's that took us to Muir woods and all the great overlooks. Did not miss having a car.
