The Coach House is situated on the A38 halfway between Gloucester and Tewkesbury, and about 5 miles west of Cheltenham. It provides an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds, The Forest of Dean, or even the Wye Valley and beyond to the Welsh hills.
The barn has been very tastefully converted to provide an open plan living room/dining area and kitchen, with a galleried bedroom above. There is a shower room with basin and WC. It provides very comfortable accommodation for a couple, though downstairs there is a sofa bed if required.
The Leigh is an ancient village in the Severn Vale, and although The Coach House is on the main road, just on the opposite side of the road is a walk through the village - a most peaceful experience. You will note some of the reviews mention traffic noise from the main road which can get busy especially during rush hour - please bear this in mind! The Swan is a pub/restaurant a mile away, and other pubs/restaurants nearby include The New Dawn Inn on the A38 towards Gloucester, and The Red Lion, situated on the banks of the River Severn.

A convenient base , overall a great place to stay. The property had everything, and the one and only issue was the heating needed to be turned up. This was dealt with by Chris the owner promptly.
A property for 1 or 2 nights but not longer as facilites are limited.
Owner on hand to deal with immediate problem of lack of cutlery , tea towels, washing up drainer. No tea pot, toast rack, and kitchen saucepans small and limited size. Fire alarm very sensitive, and the toast not even burnt! No kitchen window or extractor.
Microwave rusty/dirty and net curtains on front window could do with a wash.
No shelves or draws to put clothes in although the hanging space was adequate. No bed side tables, and only one bed side light which was broken.
The chairs to watch tv not comfortable, and low. The bed also low, and not for people with mobility /knee problems.
There was a leak in the roof but the owner repaired that immediately.
I thought it very odd that sheets were provided but not towels.

Oh dear - obviously a less than 100% satisfied visitor - many apologies!
We made every effort to address all of her requests and queries including those made prior to her arrival.
Please note - there was a tea-pot, next to the cafetiere on the kitchen window sill along with the storage jars (yes there is a kitchen window!!). The bedside light has been checked and works normally (visitor unable to locate the switch?).
Three tea towels and all the cutlery has been adequate for the previous guests but we were happy to buy more, supplement the cutlery and buy a drainage rack as requested.
The property is always professionally cleaned and inspected prior to guests' arrival.
This property was nicer than we expected-the photos don't do it justice. It's spacious and warm. We had enough kitchen kit to prepare simple meals. The bed was quite comfortable. Convenient parking. The only downside was the considerable road noise early morning but as we are early risers it didn't trouble us. We didn't meet the owner.
A cozy barn fitted with everything you need and enough space. The sleeping place upstairs is wonderful charming. Several good pubs are within a few minutes by cars. There is a lot of traffic at the mainroad which is in front of the barn but at night the traffic is significantly reduced. So we slept well . Thank you for the lovely accommodation and the nice contact.

Very cozy
A well appointed property, everything you need for a break. Road a little noisy around the morning rush hour and care needed when exiting but all in all, a very pleasant experience.

Charming cottage, good location
The house is a lovely little cottage on the road between Tewkesbury and Gloucester, which is a great location for day trips to the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean, Wye Valley and lots more. We spent every day out of the house in a different place and we loved it. The house itself is a tastefully furnished old coach house/stable done in a nice open plan style. It's small but surprisingly spacious and is the perfect size for a couple. The kitchen has got lots of utensils/pans etc and it's a pleasure to cook in. The shower is also excellent. There are a few minor issues like the sound of the road (quite loud), a too small tap on the kitchen sink and the fact it got quite hot at night (in August mind you) but hardly worth worrying about. Chris is a lovely host and was very welcoming. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Lovely little getaway
My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend and had the most wonderful time! The property has everything you will need; plenty of kitchen equipment, books/DVDs, TV/DVD player and a gorgeous living room for you to relax in.
Despite the proper as a whole not being very big, the interior felt incredibly spacious, as well as being really cosy in the evening. The shower is amazing - 10/10 for that!
It's really close to a multitude of places for days out - we chose a half hour drive to Slimbridge Wetlands Centre.
Couldn't be more pleased, would definitely recommend!

GOOD LOCATION
A very comfortable cottage (although the bed was not) and a good base for getting around. Please note that there is no pub or restaurant within half a mile as stated on the details. The nearest place was well over a mile and a bit too far to walk. Saying that we had a lovely week there and it is ideal if you like to get out and about.

Summer break
I stayed at the Coach house in July 2011 for 6 days with my husband and had a lovely time. The cottage is cute and nicely decorated and surprisingly quite as close to an A road. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of cutlery and utensils. The bathroom is great (only room without a photo so I was initially worried!). It is big with a great powerful shower and a spacious sink for my many toiletries!! The swinging seat in the living room area was very relaxing and a funky feature. TV/DVD player was great for a cosy evening in on the sofa. Some DVD's in the cottage or we also took some.
Gloucester and Cheltenham are close by with cinema, restaurants, shops (Gloucester has designer outlets and high street) supermarkets and places of interest. Many little villages all around and there are some great books in the cottage on local walks. We did a couple through some gorgeous little villages and had a fab time.
A lovely little cottage and a great holiday, definitely recommend.

Excellent Stay!
My boyfriend and I wanted a cottage for a few days away from London for New Years Eve.
We had a lovely time and thought the cottage was perfect, couldnt have been more pleased with it! It was lovely and warm and the layout was lovely.
Excellent location, we were able to drive into town to look around the shops, drive to the forest of dean and also to bicester village.
We had an amazing time and will definitely be recommending it to everyone we know for a weekend break!
