Good rental for families.
Property was clean and supplied with everything we needed. Outdoor games, kayaks, Jon boat, fishing gear and ping pong table were great additions.
Great family house.
Great for large families. Very spacious. My family and I had a great time even with the lake being low.
There is a lot of space and great back yard. The layout is very awkward; you need 3 separate keys to get into all the spaces. There is no interior connections. But as long as you don't have small kids staying separate from adults, it's workable. The bathrooms were very clean, but the kitchen likely isn't used much because we washed many of the dishes before using them. But there was adequate soap and cleaning supplies. The owner/manager was great about advising us where to go tubing and even loaned us supplies for our trip. Overall we had a great time.
We all had a GREAT TIME!
This property was exactly what we were looking for and we will be visiting again in the future!
I rented this house for a weekend with 10 of my girlfriends. It was perfect for our stay, with plenty of space and a nice outdoor area! Terry was great and very communicative! Would recommend!
Thank you, Michelle!!
There is a public boat ramp underneath IH-35 where you can launch your boat or water craft. This part of the Guadalupe River is called Lake Dunlap where the water is deep and wide enough to enjoy boating recreation. From this rental's backyard, you will see boats and jet skies go by. You can bring your own boat and park it in the boat slip located in the back yard. This rental is located at one of the widest sections of the river and the water level stays the same year round. Perfect for swimming or just sitting back in an inflatable drinking your favorite beverage and soaking up the Texas sun. Lake Dunlap has record size bass and catfish. There is plenty of waterfront lighting for those who prefer to fish at night. There is an outdoor fire-pit, a gas grill with one end for charcoal. During the day, stay and swim at the house or drive into town to float the Comal or "upper" Guadalupe. Spend a day at Schlitterbahn, Sea World or Fiesta Texas. Visit historic Gruene, listen to live music, shop at the nearby outlet malls, eat out at one of the many restaurants, or stay home and enjoy the river and sunset from the privacy of your own backyard. The options are endless. People come from all over Texas every year to spend their summer vacation in New Braunfels, which is why New Braunfels is known as the "vacation capital of Texas."
About Terri Hannasch
I enjoy renting and making sure everyone has a good time on their vacation. I try to keep my prices reasonable as I am sensitive to the fact that while the cost of living keeps going up, our salaries have not. Ive been renting since 2010. I feel very fortunate to live on the river and to be able to rent my home in "the vacation capital of Texas". Renting has helped me not lose my home and cover the ridiculous property taxes. Since I started renting in 2010, it seems everyone, including outside investors, started doing the same. So people have a lot of homes and locations to chose from. I am appreciative when families and friends chose mine to spend their vacation and I try to make sure everything is perfect.
Terri Hannasch purchased this House in 1995
Why Terri Hannasch chose New Braunfels
I always wanted to live on the river in New Braunfels. I would drive the streets in New Braunfels exploring the ones that led to the water looking for older homes and 'fix-me-uppers"'. Back then the homes were mostly 'cabins' and this area was considered "country." We bought this house when it was a just a small cabin in 1995 and then we had the biggest flood event in New Braunfel's history in 1998. It was called a 500 yr flood. All the old cabins and old boat houses were either washed away or not worth rebuilding. Most of the homes you see today were rebuilt after the 98 flood. I love its location and few people realize this part of the Guadalupe river exists where it opens up wide for boating and fishing. It is only 7 miles from downtown, Gruene, River Road, and the Comal. Thank you for viewing and where ever you chose to stay, have a great time floating the rivers and enjoying New Braunfels!
