Great Mountain Vacation
We searched VRBO for a mountain house for a few weeks for our annual Christmas Vacation. This was a perfect find. The house has all the amenities that you need, great views and is close to many great sights. The home is on a golf course which provided some great walking trails for us in December. I am sure it would be different in season for golf. We used the hot tub and fire pit each day! The closest affordable grocery store is 25 minutes away so if you are arriving in the evening make sure you have groceries. There is a store near the house, but prices are double a normal grocery. The only complaint I have is the trash requirement. The convenience center is far away and there is a charge for left trash bags. I would recommend that the owners allow one bag on the check out. The convenience center is not open on Sunday so we had to pack up our stuff and include the trash bag for our journey home. Not very accommodating. Overall, we had a great stay and I would definitely recommend!
Perfect mountain retreat
Our stay at Serenity House was great! The setting is amazing and the house is very welcoming and well stocked with everything we wanted. The outdoor space is awesome (including the hot tub)!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving getaway at the Serenity House!
This was our first experience renting a home for a small vacation for the four(4) of us. The accommodations were extremely nice at the home, plenty of rooms and space with WIFI & TV as described. The back deck and view was absolutely beautiful, not to mention using the Hot Tub every day during Thanksgiving holiday week! We walked the golf course mornings which was refreshing. Travel to the Biltmore House took about 1hr, so allow plenty of time to get there (at least 30mins to get down the mountain to main roads). The last 10miles of our trip upon arrival were up the mountain range on very winding roads, so be prepared for slow travels during this portion of your trips in and out of the resort area. We enjoyed it because the Pisgah National Forest and Blue Ridge Parkway are absolutely breath-taking. We would definitely consider coming back when the weather is warmer!
Great trip. Awesome place and memories!
Exactly as described
This house was very spacious and included all the amenities you could need! My kids loved the hot tub and I loved the sound of the river in the background. Be aware that it is well over an hour drive to downtown Asheville and on very winding roads. That part wasn’t very enjoyable. There were 3 different waterfalls within 15 minutes and we visited two of them with much success. My only complaint is there were sooo many light switches in the house and a lot of the lightbulbs were burned out or didn’t work. I was constantly having to use the actual lamp switches after flipping on tons of wall switches with no success. The house could use a deep cleaning i.e. the mini blinds and corners of the rooms need cleaned up. But I would definitely stay here again. The house is huge! Best part is you don’t have to bring a thing. I’ve stayed in condos that make you bring your own toilet paper, not at this house! It’s almost too many amenities, if that’s possible! 3 nights wasn’t enough time to get full use of this house so if we come back it’ll be for longer!
Lovely house & area. Rained out!
House was excellent. Lots of room. Comfy beds, sofas and deck. Excellent place to chill out. Owners had it well equipped for our stay. Excellent linens provided. Fire pit is really nice. Access to the the river was a disappointment. Has to cross on one hole on golf course, which is a busy place. Golfers acted like we were trespassing. Had to go through hedge to get to river, but It was lovely to sit the first night and hear the river from the deck & firepit. Rest of week was too rainy and wet. Used hot tub first night and enjoyed it right before the rain started. Great location for access to Blue Ridge Parkway. Front of house faces a huge wall of Rhododendrons. Can only imagine how beautiful it must be in June when they are blooming. Don’t miss Roaring Fork Falls. Beautiful and easy to get to; nice walk to it. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making it so nice.
