3 Br 2.5 Ba Located On 38 Acres Near Wineries And Dahlonega
The Swag House is nestled in a “swag” between the hills just 5 miles north of the historical town of Dahlonega, Georgia. It is the perfect location to get away from the busy life while visiting the north Georgia mountain attractions. The Swag House is located on 38 private acres with the Chattahoochee National Forest boundary just a few feet from the back door.
The Swag House is convenient to attractions and activities enjoyed by guests of all ages. Four of Georgia’s best wineries are within 10 miles. It lies between Amicalola Falls State Park and Unicoi State Park. The Appalachian Trail crossings of Woody Gap and Neal’s Gap are only a few minutes drive from the Swag House. The Dahlonega area is known for the first gold rush in America and has a state historical “Gold Museum”, as well as two historical mines that offer tours. The “Alpine-like” village of Helen is also only a 30 minute drive away.
The Swag House was established as a family home of a local forester and his family in the early 1990’s. The home is surrounded by a small meadow with a larger mountain meadow to the south. Otherwise, typical Blue Ridge Mountain forests surround the Swag House. It is common to see whitetail deer, wild turkey and other wildlife surrounding the House and on the gravel drive into the Swag House property.
The property surrounding the home provides opportunities for "off-trail" hiking in the National Forest, as well as leisurely walks along the gravel drive.
The Swag House contains 3 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths and comfortably sleeps 6. Contact the owner to accommodate additional guests. The 3 bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a king bed and has an associated master bath with separate shower and marble tub. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom that has a tub/shower combination. The second bedroom has a full size bed and the third bedroom has a queen bed. The House has a fully-equipped modern kitchen, wide screen televisions via satellite, provided WiFi internet service, and other comforts/amenities. There is a large deck and comfortable front porch for relaxing after a day of site-seeing. The large den is the focal point of the home and includes a working fireplace opposite a wall of windows that provides wonderful views of "Three Sisters Mountains" from late Fall to mid-Spring. The "library" room contains books for all ages and an antique upright piano for plinking.
The "mudroom" contains the washer/dryer for the use of guests. Linens are provided, as well as an initial supply of paper products.
We welcome your enjoyment of the Swag House during your stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia.

Amazing Get Away
We enjoyed this beautiful home in the woods. The home was very clean, in excellent condition and everything was exactly as described. We highly recommend The Swag House to anyone who is enjoying Dahlonega.
Every window has a stunningly beautiful view in this lovely home. Lots and lots of space for everyone to spread out - and we all agreed the beds were VERY comfortable.
We want to live there!
Every home we have owned was chosen with the property being the first and most important consideration. We have to be immersed in nature, have room for our dogs to run, and the modern comforts of a quality home. We could live at the Swag House, and we did for a weekend. It was perfect! The local area was wonderful as well. I'm sure we will return there as it really feels like home, away from home.
My family stayed for a long weekend to go to a wedding at Wolf Mountain Vineyards. Not only was this a beautiful house, it was so close to the vineyard that we became a meeting place for extended family. There was plenty of space for all of us. The only downside is the long driveway.
Perfect house for a girls weekend!
We had a great time at the Swag House. The house was adorable and had plenty of space for everyone to stay. I will definitely be staying here if I visit Dahlonega again!
Such a wonderful mountain home!
A large group of my college friends and I stayed at the Swag House for a weekend and had a wonderful time! The kitchen is large and perfect for cooking and baking, while the living room and family room are perfect for board game nights and visiting with old friends. We grilled out on the large back deck and danced the night away with the surround sound speakers that are all throughout the house. We went hiking in the trails that surround the house and had a bonfire one night. We will definitely make the Swag House an annual get together spot! GO DAWGS!
The Swag House is within 10 miles of four north Georgia wineries, so a winery tour is a must. Our property is in the perfect location for visiting Georgia's mountain State Parks and other outdoor recreation, including Amicalola Falls State Park, Unicoi State Park, the Appalachian Trail, and others. The historical towns of Dahlonega and Helen are close. Pan for gold just down the road (2 miles) in one of two gold mine sites of the 1828 gold rush in Dahlonega.
