Overall Amazing Experience

  • 5 of 5

The true essence of "roughing it in Alaska". We didn't just want to "see Alaska" we wanted to "do Alaska" and this place fulfilled that dream. It is just a few steps above the beach, a toilet just a few steps from the front door, and enough kayaks for everyone at your doorstep. The cabin itself had all the dishes, propane oven/stove, bedding and 1 towel that we were so grateful for after we got a little wet while kayaking. We watched sea otters, eagles, and whales and caught quite a few fish. Jeff was an amazing host in his offers to bring us anything we might need in his trips down during the day. We would visit with other people staying at the lodge and fox den cabin at the top of the cliff and sat around the fire all evening sharing stories. Plenty of things to explore around the cabin and bay. Highly recommend it!!

Awesome family getaway

  • 4 of 5

My husband and 2 girls (11 and 13)spent two nights here. Although drizzly we still has a great time. We kayaked 4 separate times, played on the beach, saw lots of wildlife and had great electronic-free family time. No electricity in the cabin, so bring lanterns (a few are provided). Cabin can get dark even in summer because it is nestled in the trees. Comfy beds and great amenities for cooking. Jeff was a great host.

Fun family get away

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Pepper Creek Cabin. We saw lots of wildlife just sitting on the beach. Having kayaks available to use was a very nice bonus and allowed us to explore the near by coves and caves and of course do lots of fishing.

The perfect getaway for honeymooners!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in the pepper creek cabin for 3 nights on our honeymoon and could not have been more pleased. Where else do you get to be completely off the grid with views of the ocean, mountains, a beach bon fire, and waterfalls all from one chair?! This place had magnificent views for scenery and wildlife; watched humpback whales, sea lions, and bald eagles coming and going from the bay. Jeff came each day to check in on another cabin he is building and was very helpful and kind, always asking if there was anything we needed but he was never intrusive.

The accommodations were exactly as described; no electricity or running water, there is an outhouse, a creek to bathe in if absolutely necessary, and a propane stove.

One thing we would recommend that we found very useful is bringing out your own gallons of water for drinking. Creek water can be used for cooking. The other item we would highly recommend is an additional high powered lantern. There are lanterns and a stash of new batteries at the cabin but because of how it is tucked away, it is very limited natural light even at the brightest times of day.

We hope to return some day!!

Exellent Stay, Great hosts, Adventurous spirit required

  • 5 of 5

This place was seriously awesome. Private beach, beautiful view, delicious fresh water stream, very nice cabin. Small, but cozy, and all of the necessities required for cooking, and living off the grid for a bit. Not for those looking for posh or luxury appointments, and some trail navigation, and steep terrain negotiation is required, but if you're up for it the reward is worth it.

A fabulous getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a large group that was easily accommodated at Granite Point Lodge. Jeff was really helpful and easy to work with prior to our arrival. The place is beautiful and we all had a great time! The location is superb, sitting on a lovely beach that is a great location for kayaking and beach combing for everybody in the group. Both cabins and the main house are super cute and have everything you need. The view is spectacular, and I really enjoyed meandering up the creek that sits right by the cabin, My family will definitely try to stay here again!
