About jeff

I have lived in Alaska for 21 years, spending most of my time kayaking, fishing, hunting, backcountry boarding and hiking. I created Granite Point Mountain Lodge and the Pepper Creek Cabin as an elegant base camp from which travelers and locals alike can come and explore the rugged beauty of this increadinle area, and share in my love of Alaskas wilderness.

jeff purchased this cabin in 2013

Highly Recommend Staying Here

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Pepper Creek Cabin in August 2017 as a family of 4, 2 adults and two boys. Had fun playing on the beach, kayaking, fishing, and exploring. The cabin is great, heater nice, bring lights as it is a bit dark in the cabin. It rained while we were there so our stuff never really dried. It's a little bit of work, but so worth it to stay here. The views are spectacular and the location provides a true Alaskan experience.

Truly Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing, relaxing trip. From kyacking around thumb cove and humpy cove to taking in the amazing sights from the cabin to blueberry picking in the endless mountainside of blueberries. We had the best time and can't wait to go back!

Splendid serenity

  • 5 of 5

Truly an amazing location with a simple yet beautiful cabin. We spent a couple weeks in Alaska and other than our time camping at wonder lake we most enjoyed our time here! Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer, as we had a busy itinerary to keep. The tidal pools that form along the beach have abundant sea life that entertained us for hours and left us feeling like kids again. The world is a big place but this little place will always be at the top of my list for a great getaway!

It was a great location. Had a great time kayaking, even though it rained the entire time! Easy paddle to thumb cove and humpy cove. Cabin was cute and clean. It was dark though, would recommend bringing extra flashlights and towels. Would recommend bringing binoculars--there is plenty of wildlife to see!

The beach was beautiful. We kayaked to the near by beach cove and went for a hike along the glacier feed river. Fished and enjoyed a campfire each night.

25 year anniversary

This place was incredible. Of all the places we have been this is one of the places we will list way up on the top of our list. We really loved it. The cabin was extremely comfortable. This was our first trip here so we were prepared for very simple meals but we could have done anything. We caught our supper every night from the kayaks. Very peaceful and we loved the simplicity of it. The craftsmanship of the cabin was amazing. Very private and a wonderful place to rejuvenate and realize what is important in life.
