Loewenburg - family and group retreat with a difference

LOEWENBURG :Exotic Retreat for groups, families and events. The entrance to this house says it all; 2 giant marble lions weighing 10 tonnes each guard the front door. Each room has its own private out door space and the modern features have to be seen to be truly appreciated. Loewenburg also has amazing views out over the ocean, and an exquisite private garden out the back. So what are you waiting for. Forget a boring hotel and come hang out with the lions......

This is our second property designed for larger groups and we have created something very different in it. we have themed each room based upon different parts of the world and reflect my travels through the globe. The African spears and shield in the lounge room are from the massai in Kenya and all the pictures displayed in the house were photographed myself on my travels. if you like one and want to know more about where it was taken i am more than happy to tell you the story behind it. This house with its many balconies and private spaces is great for large family get aways. Everyone can have their own space but still come together. it is truly something special and different and i hope you enjoy the experience of staying in it as much as we did in creating it.

We messaged the property manager about one hour out of our arrival to the property to ask for the code; we finally received the code upon our arrival, however we had been booked in to the wrong property. Once we got past the awkwardness of asking the current tenants to vacate as we had it booked (they had been approved for a late departure), and waited for the cleaners to arrive to clean the property, it was evident the property has significantly lacked the ongoing maintenance it requires. Mould in the fridge, rust on the BBQ (rendering it useless), poor light fixtures (sitting in dark at night time), 1/5 stoves on cook top working, fish pool in disrepair.. list goes on. Additionally, there was no hot tub as advertised in the photos. Incredibly disappointed with our stay and would absolutely not recommend it to anyone.

Disappointing and embarrassing stay

We should have read the reviews on air bnb prior to booking. Our expectations were certainly not met. We had guests arriving from interstate and we were hoping to show them around and have a relaxing time. However, we spent the first hour of our stay cleaning up the house to an acceptable standard. Pros: -location was accessible to shops, beaches and other attractions. -the house was large enough to accommodate a larger group. Cons: - Overall cleanliness of the house. The couch and floors were sticky and dirty. The kitchen benchtop and stove were oily. A dead fly and crumbs in the fridge. Used dental floss on the floor upstairs in the games area. This is very disappointing considering you pay a cleaning fee as part of your rental. -The door to the main bedroom upstairs would not close -No spa as depicted in the photos and description -The dryer and washing machine were full of laundry from the previous stay -Flooring in the downstairs area was broken and gaps in the flooring -Unable to turn the light on over the main dining area, we had to eat in darkness - The pond was filthy and missing fencing - The house is not suitable for elderly or infants due to stairs and missing railings in some parts - The house requires overall general maintenance to be fit for rental - Communication with the owner/property manager was virtually non-existent. Even after 3 phone calls and voicemails and messages left, there was no reply until the night before our stay. I would avoid booking this property and look at other properties in the area.

Why they chose this property

This property has been a labour of love over 4 years. It has gone through phases of renovation to reach this point now. It represents freedom and difference in a world where conformity in accommodation is the norm. I hope you appreciate the unique features and take the time to look at the photography of the many places in the world that have influenced this beautifultake a moment and eclectic Manor.

What makes this property unique

I thinkg the armour plated door and 20 tonnes of marble at the front entrance speak pretty loudly that this property in some thing special . However here are a few hidden jems -- the front pond has silver perch bream in them - take a moment to throw them some bread in the early morning and watch them devour it. There are many fruits and herbs out the back. with in reason you are welcome to use what you wish of them. All the photos are from my many travels through asia, Africa, and the middle east.
