Indulge yourself in the spectacular beauty of nature at Gosén! Spend an unforgettable day surrounded by mountains, wilderness and exotic birds. Hike through the amazing Bosque de la Hoja, or just relax, listen to the sounds of the nearby creek, and enjoy the sunset.
Main room is upstairs with king bed, other room is 10 meters away into the garden with queen bed.

Eduardo and Betty were FABULOUS! They could not have been nicer, more courteous hosts! The house was perfection and the home cooked meals were INCREDIBLE!The property itself is BREATHTAKING and very secure. It is behind a heavy electric gate, so we felt very safe!Eduardo communicates very efficiently and was so helpful in navigating our excursions… I hope some day to be able to have the privilege of staying at Gósen again and would give it 10 stars!!

Eduardo was amazing and the property exceptional. The gardens were beautiful. Eduardo was the best, explaining everything, having his wife cook us an amazing meal. Fruit at breakfast was fresh nd wonderful as was the juice. Top notch host here that we would recommend to everyone. We will certainly try to book again.

Probably the most beautiful property we have stayed at in all of our travels. Eduardo and Betty were the most gracious.welcoming and warm hostsThe property, meticulously maintained and manicured daily, is a marvel to living in and among Costa Rica’s rich forest while enjoying the fruits and vegetables grown on their land and drinking the coffee from their family plantation that backs up to the national park. And add in the trail down a five minute walk to the richest and most tranquil and private Brooke side rest area….simply breathtaking. We have have already booked a second three night stay

Gosen House in the hills above San Jose

The property was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and well run. The host family were very kind, inviting us to breakfast and sharing recommendations for restaurants in the area.Wish we had taken more time to lounge in the lovely backyard garden area. We enjoyed our stay, and recommend this property.

Gorgeous and Peaceful

Eduardo’s hospitality was superb. The property itself is a stunning blend of floral and edible trees and plants. The main bedroom offers fairy tale lodging in a beautiful and lush garden setting. Highly recommend.

We had the most amazing stay at the Gosen House! Eduardo and Betty are the best hosts ever. It felt like we were staying with family. Just the nicest people and we loved talking with them and learning all about the farm and Costa Rica.The place is so beautiful - flowers and fruit in abundance. We also saw lovely birds all over the property. And they had the most precious dogs which added even more fun to the visit! We ordered the dinner and breakfast and everything was absolutely delicious. Homemade and fresh fruit and juice from their garden. We took the coffee tour and it was so informative and fun. We enjoyed the experience of roasting some coffee beans at the end of the tour. It was so awesome to be able to buy some coffee to take home and know exactly where it came from and that it is made with love.Our stay was too short - we did not want to leave! But hope to visit again one day. Thank you so much Eduardo and Betty, for making our stay in Costa Rica an unforgettable one! The Campbells

Wonderful place to stay.

We found the place easily and Eduardo and Betty were amazing hosts. Betty is a very good cook. We were in a tropical storm so we decided to drive to the coast for a few days. But we enjoyed our vacation.

Friendly house and owners

The property was large and well manicured. There is a small coffee farm on site. We asked to participate in the harvesting and had a fun and learning experience. The home was spread out, but had all the amenities we needed for our 4 week stay. Highly recommend this location.

Beautiful property!

My husband, daughter and I wanted to stay in a house near San Jose, and this worked out really nicely. The property is just gorgeous with the flowers and greenery everywhere. Eduardo and Betty are so sweet. We paid extra for dinner and breakfast the first day which was a huge help until we could get to the grocery store.I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone elderly or with little kids—no railing on the stairs or paved paths. You need a car to stay here, for sure. And the bed in the main room was so hard we bought an air mattress to put on top of it. But otherwise, it was a wonderful stay!

It is a yes for me

Private, peaceful, beautiful. We traveled everywhere from this beautiful home and coming back always felt like home. Our host was amazing he know Costa Rica and you will need this cause there are no addresses for the GPS. You have to know the location. We had an amazing time and will be back only stay here when we come.

Best in Costa Rica

This place is amazing, and is in the middle of real coffee plantation. Very nice host and best place we stayed in Costa Rica. Will go there every time we are in San Jose or surrounding areas.

Great!

Eduardo and Betty are awesome hosts, friendly and caring. Make sure you ask them about their coffee and breakfast and try Betty’s homemade bread.

Wonderful hosts

Nice place with great views, beautiful flowers. Eduardo and his lovely wife were very gracious and helped us in so many ways. She is a wonderful cook, and he went out of his way to accommodate us. We made new friends and will be back.

Quiet getaway outside of Heredia

Fantastic stay with Eduardo and Betty, they are excellent hosts who went above and beyond. They make you feel right at home, we will miss them. The only 'con' would be that the house is so remote, not close to any sites we wanted to see, however, we had no issues getting Uber rides and Eduardo was also willing to offer ride service.

Lovely mountain getaway

Lovely mountain getaway with generous and caring hosts. Comfy bedroom w gorgeous view, access to gorgeous and working coffee farm - great coffee!! Car needed for easy mobility. Great access to national parks and numerous towns and San Jose. Second bedroom is separate from main accommodations, which we didn’t need so it was fine. Would stay again - gracias Edouardo and Betty!

Lovely place, lovelier hosts

We arrived in the middle of the night due to flight issues. We were graciously welcomed. The property is beautiful with comfortable and fun guest areas. The hosts were beyond welcoming, helped us practice our Spanish, taught us how coffee beans go from tree to roasting AND let us help! Sweet dogs and cuddly rabbits rounded out our visit. Get the food if you can, they go all out preparing meals too. Highly recommend this location. We would stay here again!

You should go ahead and request to book this property right now. It's hard to summarize how wonderful it is, but I’ll try.Eduardo and Betty have created a paradise within a paradise. The grounds are beautifully maintained, full of native plants and wildlife—we even saw a sloth in the garden on our last day. The main guest space is a glass enclosure surrounded by lush landscaping; it’s especially peaceful during rainstorms.Eduardo, a Costa Rica native, is incredibly knowledgeable about the area. If you arrive without a set plan, he’ll help you design an unforgettable experience tailored to your interests. We loved the coffee tour—our 6-year-old especially enjoyed roasting and grinding the beans. She also spent hours happily exploring the swings and gardens. Eduardo is both an artist and a gracious host; he even took beautifully framed photos of our family.Betty’s cooking is phenomenal—every meal was a highlight. We loved everything: chicken curry, paella, eggplant lasagna, gallo pinto, arepas, guanabana en leche, salchichón, and especially the fajitas. Our daughter’s favorite was Betty’s homemade Oreo ice cream—better than anything we could have bought.We already miss this place and will treasure the memories forever. Beautful space and amazing hosts

The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. We were very comfortable and the view from the main building is splendid.The hosts are amazing, warm and welcoming. We leraned about their small-scale coffee production and even got to help out, which was a lot of fun. It almost felt like a homestay experience the way they took the time to interact with us. My husband and two adult children also loved the experience and said it was one of the highlights from the entire trip.
