Guestbook comments from the manager

This was a fantastically renovated and updated condo at the Hawaiian Princess, well equipped with everything you need for a short or lengthy stay. We stayed for 2 weeks and just loved the location in the condo building. The 9th floor is a great blend of views of the valley and the ocean. If you have not stayed at the Hawaiian Princess, this is a premiere quiet location which provides as close to a private beach as you can imagine. Great scenery. Turtles, a monk seal, and whales breaching in the horizon were almost a daily occurrence during our stay.

Thank you Melissa

This property has a everything needed for an enjoyable stay- from all the kitchen gadgets, to plenty of linens, and all beach accessories needed. The best part is being able to sit on the balcony and watch the sunset while whales swim by right in front. It’s an added bonus to be able to take the elevator down and walk right on the beach. The beach in front of the condo is a long stretch of white sand perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The security staff are very friendly and accommodating. The owner was able to help us out with some airport logistics which we really appreciated. We will definitely be back.

Nice and clean, cheerfully decorated, and the view from the lanai balcony is so enchanting, always something to watch day and night. The front desk lady was quick to provide us with the parking pass for the security lot, The lockbox gave us the key to get in, We had a very enjoyable vacation.

a problem i had was with VRBO , the app would not download on a chromebook, 2 android tablets and an android phone. so i had to contact the owner by email, but she was gracious and informative. good place to stay.

It Truly is a Beautiful Beachfront Condo

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this condo and had a thoroughly wonderful time. The condo is very nice and has everything you need. It is on the west side of the island so it is more remote so if you are wanting a place away the crowds, this is a perfect place. The view from the condo is amazing and the sounds of the waves are incredible. Every night you have a front row seat to an amazing sunset. We ate at some of the local restaurants and shopped at the local stores. Everyone was very nice. The beach is amazingly beautiful, private and it is never crowded. Some days are very calm and you can snorkel the reefs that are just off of the shore and other days it can be quite rough, but if you like to play in the waves it is a blast.

A couple of times we took the short 20 minute drive to Ko Olina where there are several resorts and restaurants including the Disney Vacation club. We also took another day to drive around the island. So many beautiful spots and beaches on Oahu, but honestly none any prettier than the beach this condo is on. If you are looking to get away from it all and have a quiet, relaxing vacation, you will love this condo.

Some other reviews mentioned concerns about the homeless. There are some homeless people living on a few of the beaches on the west side but nothing close to the beach the condo is on and we did not feel intimidated or unsafe at all.

The owner, Melissa, was very helpful in answering any questions we had. I honestly can’t believe we had a beachfront condo in Hawaii for $140/night. The week just went way to fast.

No AC, no dryer

  • 1 of 5

We had no AC. There where tons of fans when we went into the condo. Not a good sign. Complained and was suppose to see some compensation, but didn't. Dryer didn't work. Whole west side of island needs to be cleaned up. Lots of homeless living on beach. Burned out cars all over. Very few restaurants close by.

Owner's Response: Hi Robert, We are sorry that you felt the condo did not meet your needs. We have owned this unit for over 15 years and all of our renters have been very happy so far. We also go there a couple of times a year. The air conditioners in Hawaii are sometimes not the best as they use a swamp cooling system which can be not as effective as the main land and hence why we use both AC and fans and most people like the fresh air which is why we have the louvers on the front door. The combo of the lovers and sliding door give you the fresh ocean air but, we did have the air checked and it was working. Also, the dryer was working so not sure what happened there. When we heard you were not happy we agreed to pay for another unit for you to stay in and you declined so we figured that it must have been okay. The west side of the island is definitely a lot more primitive but there are not homeless living on the beach the state of Hawaii does a great job in finding them specific locations to live in and any tropical islands can tend to get their share of homelessness due to the weather. Most travelers that choose our condo for their visit to Oahu is to get away from the typical touristy places like Waikiki and to experience a more local and colorful environment. Yes, we may not have the 4 and 5 star restaurants but there are some great local places to eat that we have listed in our guest book, also the KoOlina Resort has a lot of additional fine dining and that is only about 20 minutes away. Again, sorry you were disappointed but for your next trip you might want to consider Waikiki. Mahalo, Steve & Melissa

Loved the beach

  • 5 of 5

Just stayed here for 5 nights. A previous review said it was in a seedy part of town, it sort of is. But this spot is safe, we never felt intimidated. The condo is great, bed is comfortable, the kitchen is all stocked, the big screen t.v. Is a bonus, but it is the view that is worth a million dollars. The view was amazing, sitting on the balcony and using the owners binoculours to watch turtles, whales and dolphins, just spectacular. And the beach is fabulous, it's huge and never busy. Some days the waves are overpowering, and some days were calm, the water is crystal blue, the beach is just so picture postcard perfect. There is no automatic ice maker, you will have to make your own ice. We did our grocery shopping at Tamuras, they had everything we needed. There are no 'fancy' restaurants in this area, a lot of fast food though. We met a family that had been going there for 36 years and love it, that should say something about its reputation. We only did one tour while we stayed here and that was Pearl Harbour, it was a great tour, humbling. If you are going to cook every day and don't mind it, this is the perfect condo for you.

Happy Traveler!!!

  • 5 of 5

Just spent the most amazing 10 days at this wonderful condo! The view is outstanding. The condo was clean and the King size bed was so comfortable. I truly felt like I was at home. The owner was so easy to work with and I can say that I will be coming back again. My husband and I can't stop talking about the monk seal, turtles and the 30 plus dolphins we enjoyed seeing from our balcony view. We tried snorkeling for the first time and we loved it. I would highly recommend this condo. I am one happy traveler! 🐠🐋🐳
