About this property

Brantfield House is a large Victorian house set in mature gardens in a quiet location overlooking the village of Bowness and Lake Windermere. The apartment is on the first floor at the front of the house, with beautifully proportioned rooms offering spectacular views of the lake and surrounding fells.

The apartment is continually being updated. All rooms are well furnished, spacious, light and airy. The apartment sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. Each room has plentiful storage and the twin room has a TV, and PS3

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash basin. The kitchen has ample workspace and includes oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, washer and dishwasher. The large lounge /dining room was recently redecorated and is comfortably furnished with leather settees and dining table set in the bay window. There is a TV with Freeview, Netflix and DVD player There is a selection of dvds, books and games. The apartment has free wifi access. This room has a bay window allowing spectacular views of Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells.

The house is set in a quiet location but only a short walk to the heart of Bowness

Great spot in the Lake District!

We had a great stay in this apartment. You can walk down the hill to shops, pubs, and the lake. Inside is very comfortable with a great view. The host was great communicating via email after my VRBO app glitched out. Minor quibbles would be that the little hallway is almost comically squeaky, and it would be great to have a couple of fans to circulate the air a bit. Overall, highly recommended!

Am immaculately presented apartment with gorgeous views of Windermere

We really enjoyed our stay and could not fault the quality of the apartment. It's in a very peaceful location within walking distance of the Dales Trail. Please note that the road down to the town of Bowness is very steep and narrow but definitely walkable if you are reasonably fit.

A lovely memory maker

Wonderful!

This was our first visit to the Lake District and this flat was perfect! We enjoyed climbing to the top of the fell behind the house every morning to visit with the sheep and enjoy the 360 degree view. The views from the flat itself were spectacular, too! We watched the sun set over Windermere each evening. We also walked from this flat to the Windermere train station on the Dales Way and took the bus back. This flat is so comfortable, and the bus stop is just at the bottom of the hill. It's also an easy walk to the pier where the boats take off. We couldn't have found a better place!

Wonderful accommodations in Bowness

My sister and I stayed here for three nights in early March and loved it. It was a very comfortable and stylish flat with a great view. It was very close to town but as others have mentioned a short but steep climb up the hill. Christine answered all my questions promptly and was very pleasant in her interactions. I would highly recommend staying here.

Fantastic apartment, in an awesome location. Very much recommended

Had a great stay at the apartment with my wife and 3 year old son. It is spacious, clean, comfortable! The location is ideal for Bowness-on-Windermere and the views from the apartment are outstanding. The owners also made our stay over Christmas extra special with a tree and gifts. Would whole heartedly recommend this accomodation if you are planning on heading to the Lakes

Perfect for Us.

Wonderful view, great amenities, good supply of local tourist information, especially about local hiking. We were a family of four, three adults and one child and the apartment was a perfect fit. Good communication from the owner, all was as promised.

Fantastic!!

We had a great time at the flat, the views are unbelievable and not to be missed! It is the best placed flat around! It was very clean and tidy and made you feel at home straight away not to mention being very good value for money. Some good walks both up the hills and down by the lake and you are rewarded with a good selection of pubs after a days walking! i will definitly be recommending this to my friends and family and am already looking forward to my next visit! thanks very much!!!!!

don't miss this lovely apartment

We have spent a weekend and a week at this apartment. It is spacious, clean and decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The owners have thought of everything when they fitted it out and the lovely personal touches of hot water bottle,radio umbrella, books to read, brochures of local places to visit, computer games for kids means its like a ready made home you walk into. It is well situated with lovely views over the lake and is in a quiet area.

Fantastic apartment

We have stayed here over on numerous occasions and it is fabulous - the views are to die for and the location couldn't be better (except for the steep hill on the way home from the pub!) There is so much to do, the shops, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. The apartment itself is home from home, everything you could wish for, ideal for couples and families, the only problem is you have to leave at the end of your stay!

Out of this world

Mind blowing accommodation, couldn't stop looking at the incredible lake views. Spotless property, so quiet and tranquil, listening to nature and with a short 5 minute walk to the centre. Perfect weather made the stay even more incredible.

Beautiful apartment

We had a great stay at this beautiful apartment it had everything we needed, it was spotless and a fantastic view, we have been to this area a few times now and I would definitely stay here again as couldn’t fault it, we both loved it. Lots of dvds to choose from if you’re just wanting a relaxing movie night in, it was like a home from home we loved everything about it. The views are amazing and it’s so quiet and only a short walk down hill to the town with loads of pubs & restaurants. I would recommend to book this apartment if available. Hiking holiday Lake District

Really lovely spacious apartment. Great views. Extremely well appointed and tastefully decorated, , we lacked for nothing. Comfortable and quiet, but only a short distance from the lovely hustle and bustle of Bowness. Home away from home

Our first thought was, the photos do not do this apartment justice, as it exceeded expectation. The information provided regarding check in and check out was thorough and the apartment was clean, with lovely linen and towels. We did not tire from sitting at the table watching the scenery change and the kitchen was great for cooking. We also loved the location, being above the village away from the hustle and bustle, it was quiet and relaxing. We would definitely return for another stay and highly recommend to anyone wanting a true Windermere experience.
