Superbly situated 1km from the local beach and 3km from the busy resort of Les Sables D'Olonne this house is ideal for a family holiday. Based is on a quiet, no through road, directly on a cycle path with a perimeter fence all round which makes it totally safe for children. The house itself consists of one double bedroom and two twin rooms. It boasts a kitchen, utility room with washing machine, living/dining room with TV, DVD, bathroom, 2 toilets and a patio complete with barbecue and table and chairs for al fresco dining. There is also a large double garage, with additional fridge and parking for 3 cars on the driveway.

Lovely cottage in central location

The cottage was clean and comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for weeks stay. We were impressed that the driveway was large enough to get the car in. The cottage is in a good location for the supermarkets, town centre and the beach. All a 5-10 minutes drive away. The only improvement we can think of is renewing the small BBQ which was a bit wobbely when we were using it. We are looking forward to another visit to the cottage in 2020. Thanks again for the use of you cottage Linda & Andy Paterson

Les Hirondelles

A quiet property backing onto "les salines" where you could walk out to from the house. The house was ideally located for a visit into Sables and day trips to the fantastic Atlantic beaches especially at Plage de Sauveterre. There are 3 large supermarkets within a 5 minute drive. The house is extremely comfortable and very well equipped. An improvement could be the installation of WiFi. We enjoyed our breakfast in the back courtyard every morning along with hundreds of shallows soaring overhead. Communication with the owner was easy and they provided a very comprehensive welcome itinerary....

Bien située. Calme. Reposante. Cependant je me permets quelques critiques: Terrasse trop éloignée de la cuisine. Cuisine trop ancienne et équipements mal entretenus. Casseroles piquées, bouilloire rouillée Couverts pas trÚs nets. Evier trop ancien et sale. Dans la salle de bains il manque des support pour affaires de toilette. Pas de tapis de bain. Colonne du lavabo non fixée.

La maison Ă©tait parfaitement propre Ă  notre arrivĂ©e ce qui est un trĂšs bon point. Le lieu quand Ă  lui est passable surtout avec le mauvais temps les activitĂ©s Ă©taient plus que rĂ©duites
 Le manque d’un lave lave vaisselle commence Ă  se faire sentir surtout lorsqu’il y Ă  5 occupants
 La maison Ă©tait trĂšs humide. Nous avons du Ă©courter notre sĂ©jour d’une semaine, vu que pour occuper les journĂ©es les idĂ©es Ă©taient Ă  cour. Je pense que lorsque le temps si prĂȘte et en choisissant une semaine plus tĂŽt que deux cela aurait Ă©tĂ© beaucoup mieux.

Maison tranquille

Nous avons passe 15 jours dans cette maison. Elle se situe dans un environnement tranquille et calme. Une terrasse sympa pour manger et un garage immense qui a permis aux enfants de s’amuser les jours de pluie. VĂ©los ou voitures obligatoires pour les courses ou la plage. De belles choses Ă  voir dans les environs. Le seul hic pour nous a Ă©tĂ© le manque d’internet, car tous les opĂ©rateurs ne sont pas bien captĂ©s au niveau de la maison, mĂȘme orange les mauvais jours a eu du mal Ă  passer. Une maison familiale pour des vacances tranquilles

Fantastic gĂźte in a great location

The house/gĂźte is clean, tidy and very spacious (especially as there were only two of us). The kitchen has all the facilities that you will need, the living room has plenty of space despite accommodating a large dining table, the bathroom is clean and has a shower that works! Also, there are two toilets which is very handy. There is lots of useful stuff dotted around the house. We used the windbreaks from the garage and also the BBQ equipment that is stored there, for a BBQ on the rear terrace (cleaning it afterwards and replacing the charcoal and fuel that we used). The location is tremendous. A few minutes to Les Sables by car, supermarkets a few minutes away in several directions and the cycle path (turn right out of the front door) to the fantastic beach, up through the pines, is lovely (about 1 km away). Note that bathing is not allowed on this beach and you will need to walk a couple of miles up the coast to La Plage des Granges where the rocky coastline breaks up a bit. It's a beautiful walk, but we drove there (about 15 minutes) most days. It's also dog-friendly, but don't let that put you off, it's very clean. A great house in a lovely area.

Gorgeous house in a glorious location.

This home has everything to make a holiday stress-free and relaxed. The road is effectively a cul-de-sac (so there is no through traffic) which leads to a wide choice of paths for walking and cycling along the canal and through the forest to the beach, with a couple of very impressive restaurants, cycle hire and canoe hire within a 10 minute stroll. Unlike some properties, it is not stranded kilometres from anywhere: Les Sables d'Olonne is just a few minutes away by car and there is plenty of entertainment within a short distance. The house is very easy to keep clean and decorated to a high standard.

A fantastic spot

Thanks Tim for sharing your wonderful holiday home with us. It was very comfortable with everything provided- a "home away from home". Excellently positioned with access to the cycle paths to the beach, Olonne and Les Sables, yet very quiet and peaceful. We look forward to staying again and would highly recommned to any other families

Lovely stay

We had a great time here. Very quiet road but only a few minutes drive from the beaches & huge hypermarket. Brand new bathroom fitted this year which has solved the leak. Will definitely revisit.

July 2009 holiday let

Ideal location in a quiet village near to Les Sable with plenty of parking and excellent nearby cycle and canoe rides. It is a good hours pleasant walk into the town and only 16euros return in a six seater taxi. The description of the property was accurate and it was fairly well maintained although we did find damp in two of the three bedrooms believed to be caused by the bathroom not being well sealed. It didn't spoil our holiday and we have informed the owners.
