An idyllic getaway for you and another couple, a girls retreat or fun for a young family. This beautiful home sits on .95 acres. It is the site of the former Baby Island Manor, built in the 1920's and privately owned until it was destroyed in a severe windstorm in 2001. The property was vacant until Baby Island Manor II was constructed in 2011. The home is all one level, with easy access and beautiful surroundings. Lots of woods to explore and a short walk to the beach. The neighborhood is quiet and private. Do you like to beachcomb? Collect sea glass? Maybe dig for clams? Great kayaking, or just sit on the dock and listen to the seals on Baby Island. Our beach offers all this and more. Plus miles and miles of public beaches on South Whidbey.
We have a family of deer that produce new fawns each year and this year was a twin year again (see photos). Lots of eagles and hummingbirds.
The house is beautifully appointed with a gourmet kitchen including granite countertops, beautiful woodwork throughout. They say pictures are worth a thousand words and we hope you'll check out the photos and ask any questions you may have. There is a master bedroom with a comfy queen bed and private door to the bathroom. The bedroom also has a 32 inch flat screen HD TV. The second bedroom has two new twins. We also have a queen inflatable mattress if you have more than two kids!
The living room has brand new comfy reclining couch and love seat, another reclining chair that look out over the dahlia garden, trees and view of the water. The dinning room has six chairs plus two bar stools at the kitchen island. There is also a 46 inch HD TV with Xfinity cable and free WiFi. There's a bookcase full of books, games , puzzles and more games in the cedar chest.

About Larry & Gayle Childs
Gayle has been coming here since the early 1950"s, since her parents were career military and they would return here each summer for their annual leave. When we met in 1969 and married in 1970 we have spent most of every vacation and summer here. It has always been a place of solitude, peace, and serenity. There is no place we have been that offers such a feeling of wonder and wholeness.
Larry & Gayle Childs purchased this House in 2010
Why Larry & Gayle Childs chose Island County
Gayle's grandparents built a summer cabin here in the late 1920's. It was next door to the current Baby Island Manor II. We always talked and dreamed of having the acre next door for our family, children, and grandchildren. In 2010 the opportunity presented itself, and we couldn't be happier with our decision to purchase it.
What makes this House unique
Baby Island Manor II is a dream come true for us. Not only is it a beautiful acre of land, but it's presence is amazing. We have been so blessed to have Larry's mom live here for two years, but NOW we are so blessed to have you share this place - our little piece of paradise.

Sweet, Quiet Little Home with Peekaboo Ocean View
This is a great little place. It's clean, well equipped and very comfortable. There's a nice view through the trees to the water beyond. It was about a 15 minute drive from Langley and very close to the beautiful Saratoga Woods. The two bedrooms worked well for my daughter and me, but the common living area was plenty large to easily accommodate more people. It's really a delightful place to enjoy a peaceful, quiet getaway!
A wonderful quiet home with all the necessary amenities. Gracious hosts. We had a fabulous stay.
Peaceful and lovely fall weekend
House was perfect for my wife, me, and our toddler. The large living room with its giant picture window is quite comfortable and looking over the lawn and the bed of dahlias past the trees to the water was downright refreshing. We felt very welcome in the house and appreciated the full kitchen. It is a pleasant walk to the nearby beach; a mixture of sand, rocks, and shells by a picturesque pier. We would have enjoyed the house had it rained every day, but we had some unexpectedly good weather which set us to exploring Whidbey. Very pleased and would recommend.
Quiet and beautiful
Well maintained property. Gracious host. If only they accepted dogs!
Glad you enjoyed your stay. We have had guests with dogs - our listing says no dogs because of the busy road in front of the house.
Great family getaway!
Spent the weekend with our two young boys and the house worked out perfectly. The deer walking through the front yard were an exciting event in the evening for both of them to watch after some long days of visiting the various parks on Whidbey. House was more than adequately stocked with pots, pans, etc to cook meals and had plenty of space outside for the boys to play. The place was clean, quiet and provided a perfect place for our family's weekend retreat and the boys really appreciated the cookies that Gayle provided as a little welcome treat! Definitely will recommend the Baby Island Manor II to family and friends looking for a place to stay on Whidbey!
So happy to hear your comments. We look forward to welcoming you, and any of your friends & family who might enjoy "Our little slice of Paradise."
Great comfortable get away!
We stayed 3 nights at Larry and Gayle's comfortable Baby Manor II on Whidbey Island. This was a wonderful house situated with a view of the bay. We were greeted each day by a family of four deer that grazed calmly in the front and back yards; they were a delight to watch! We also saw many forms of sea life and birds when we were out crabbing on our boat, which Larry was so kind to let us park in the long driveway adjoining the home. Crabbing however, has not been good anywhere we've been so far this year, but that's no fault of our wonderful hosts! In anticipation of us getting lots of crab, Larry had loaned us his Crab Cooker and pot as well as some crab cracking tools and cute crab napkins! Very considerate. The beds were very comfortable; the kitchen had everything that we could possibly need and the place was completely spotless!
We can highly recommend this as wonderful place to stay, and we intend to come back soon. JoEllen Howard
