An all-wooden chalet surrounded by pine trees with south facing balcony and terrace situated in the heart of Borovets, the oldest ski and mountain resort in Bulgaria.

- 3 min walk to the shops and amenities
- The nearest gondala is a 4 min walk away
- Very well insulated and comfortable in all weathers
- The master bedroom upstairs opens to the balcony, with a view of the mountain
- Open plan living with lounge area, kitchenette and dining table
- Chalet fitted with sauna
- Linen and towels are provided and the chalet is cleaned daily
- The chalet has WIFI , cable TV, and DVD player

The resort: The chalet is in the beautiful ski and summer resort of Borovets, in the Rila mountains. The chalet is in a quiet location away from the main street, close to a stream. The resort is popular with families and groups of friends. It is great value and is a very friendly resort. The amenities in the hotels, such as swimming, games, gym are available to use. The town of Samokov is 10 mins away by taxi/bus, and Sofia, the capital, with its extensive shopping and sightseeing, is only an 80 minute drive away.

Resort activities: Swimming, bowling, gyms, shooting range, solarium, Jacuzzi and massage are available at the large hotels. There is also horse-riding, tobogganing, ski-doos, sleigh rides, & cleared walks in winter.

Summer holidays: Borovets is peaceful and relaxing in summer. The mountains are carpeted with wild flowers, and there are numerous beautiful walks. Spectacular views, can be had from Moussala, the Balkan peninsula's highest peak (2,925m). The Gondola is open for access to the high walks. Guides are available for short walks and overnight treks, also for hunting and fishing, and off road drives through the mountains for a wilder view of nature. Horse-riding, mountain-biking, and tennis can be found in the resort and Lake Iskar 20km away.

There are numerous restaurants with a wide range of international cuisine at exceptionally good value, and many friendly bars. The apres ski has something for everyone. For those who like a late night there are nightclubs and discos which are very lively.

Wonderful property and fabulous value for money.Great location near to gondola ski lift.Easy communication with owner who was very helpful.WiFi is a bit hit and miss despite options to connect to various networks so just be aware perhaps we were unlucky.As it is a wooden cabin to be expected there was quite a few cobwebs!Could do with a bbq and outside furniture to improve facilities as we stayed in the summer.Highly recommend.

Entsprach nur teilweise den Erwartungen

Grundsätzlich schöne Häuser, aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Haus würde eine Renovierung vertragen. Außen platzt die Farbe ab, durch dien Aufgang zur Terrasse wuchert, das Unkraut und im Inneren sind die Armaturen beziehungsweise Toilette und Waschbecken undicht, so dass unten Flüssigkeit austritt. Auch die Terrassentür in der zweiten Etage ließ sich am Ende nicht mehr öffnen und war verklemmt.

Cosy chalet close to the slopes

This chalet was perfect for our group of friends. It is 5 minutes walk from everything in town. The sauna was nice after a busy day skiing, and it was nice to have the lounge/kitchen area to relax in. Rooms upstairs were spacious, beds were comfortable and host was very responsive to any questions. Would love to stay again!

Schöne Hütte, wundrrschöne Umgebung, kleine Problemchen

Wir hatten eine schöne Familienzeit über Silvester und die Hütte ist dafür sehr geeignet und gemütlich. Allerdings gab es ein paar kleine Problemchen, worüber wir uns etwas geärgert haben: der Fernseher hatte überhaupt keinen Empfang, DVD-Player und Musikanlagen haben nicht funktioniert. Die Sauna war etwas ungepflegt. Es war ziemlich dreckig und die letzten Gäste hatten dreckiges Geschirr hinterlassen, was nicht besonders angenehm war. Alles das haben wir gemeldet und wir hoffen, dass die Probleme behoben werden. Dann wird das die perfekte Ferienwohnung werden! Wir würden gerne nochmal hin!

Au calme !

Petit châlet au coeur de Borovets. Confort basique mais vraiment au calme. Un peu petit pour 6, on a sorti la table et les chaises pour manger dehors, ça a fait de la place en plus. Service de ménage inclus pendant le séjour, les lits ont été fait une fois et les poubelles vidées tous les jours. Parfait pour les familles qui partent en montagne toute la journée.

Great location & a great price

Having been to Borovets for skiing twice before, I decided to book a chalet rather than a hotel package deal. For value for money & location Chalet Rachel was perfect. Only 5 minutes walk to the bottom of the slopes (opposite Hotel Rila) with plenty of bars, restaurants & shops on the way.

Great for a week on the slopes

Chalet Rachel was ideal for us. We wanted somewhere to relax after a day on the slopes with friends and the chalet gave us the perfect base for this. Close enough to walk to the slopes and restaurants shops and bars. We found the chalet cozy and comfy enough. Will definitely consider staying again!

Extremely worm with good location

Extremely warm house we stayed in beginning of February with negative temperatures outside. We had our room window open through out the stay for fresh air and only one heater in the bottom was left on to dry gloves and we all was in shorts and t shirts. Location is good and releticely close to shops and lifts. Sauna isn't big but it's a great feature after day of skiing. Overall best value for money I had in borovets in last 6 years going there every year.

My family and I loved our ski trip to include our stay at the chalet. The chalet was very clean and provided a warm cozy place to relax after a full day on the slopes. We look forward to staying at the chalet on our future ski getaways.

First time in Borovets

The lodge was perfect for us clean, cosy, warm boys loved it and so did we. Great value for money. Best to get taxi into next village where there is a bigger supermarket and stock up for the week as local ones are expensive. If you are wanting to self cater there are limited preparation space so bear this in mind. We did breakfast and lunch there which was ok and ate out in the evening. The lodge is tucked away and the slopes are up hill but it’s great on the way back down at the end of the day. We would definitely recommend this lodge. And thank the owners for making our first skiing holiday a great one.

Borovets Chalet

The location of the chalet was really good. It was very close to the gondolas. The chalet has everything you would need. Only slight tip would be to have an info pack inside the chalet. We didn’t realise there was a shovel under the bed and found other ways to shovel the path during our stay. We also experienced 3 power cuts when we were there. It was very dark. It was resolved relatively quickly but some matches / lighter and candles would have been really helpful. The only other thing we experienced was stray dogs barking outside during the night which I am told is quite common. There was also a larger resident dog opposite the chalet in a fenced in area. The owner of the dog would bring his dog to the chalet every morning to let it wee and poo outside which was a little strange. I don’t know if this was a territorial thing but wasn’t great as my son couldn’t play in the snow outside the chalet. Would recommend this place as it is good value, great location and helpful owners.

Very nice cabin, with all the ammenities, and daily cleaning.

Very nice cabin, with all the ammenities, and daily cleaning. Everything is at walking distance - shopping, hiking, gondolla. The cabin is in a crouded complex of cabins, at the backyard of a large hotel. Ammenties were supplied, but no food at all - not even salt and sugar.
