The Calypso Guest House offers our guests an authentic Yukon experience. Located north of Whitehorse in the forests of Ibex Valley and surrounded by mountains and stunning views, the Guest House is a beautiful and comfortable log home that is the perfect retreat for your Yukon adventures. It is close enough to Whitehorse for easy access to the Yukon arts, culture, dining, shopping, and recreation facilities, yet far enough to enjoy the spectacular northern lights (27 km).
We offer free wireless (Wi-Fi) internet. For your convenience, we offer complimentary breakfast staples for the first two days of your stay. The fridge and pantry will come supplied with cold and hot breakfast staples for guests to prepare.
The guest house has its own private back deck, propane BBQ, fire pit, and hot tub. The main floor includes a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, full bathroom, large master bedroom (queen bed), and open concept dining and living room. The second floor includes two bedrooms (one with two double beds and one with two twin beds) and a den with sofa bed, Smart television, and movie collection. A twin folding bed is also available. The basement includes a ¾ bathroom, washer/dryer, and storage for your outdoor equipment. For those travelling with children, we also offer shared access to the main house playground.
The guest house is tastefully decorated with a northern decor and furnished with quality furnishings and modern appliances. All bedrooms are furnished with custom built log beds, side tables, dressers and spacious closets. The dining table can seat 12 guests and is ideal for family gatherings or workshops.
The Guest House shares a sunroom connected to the main house where your hosts reside but otherwise is an entirely separate home. Your hosts, Al and Carolyne, will welcome you and answer any questions you may have about the area and facilities and then leave you to enjoy the Guest House and peaceful surroundings.
