We had such a nice time up in lake George over Columbus day weekend. The house was in such a great location with beautiful views of the lake. This would be a great place to swim in the summertime with the easy walk into the lake and all of the water crafts available too! My kids loved playing the board games at the house and also liked the pool table. Melissa was so sweet and welcoming. She was very helpful and seems like she really enjoys meeting her guests. Thank you Melissa for sharing your home with us!

Excellent location on the lake. Very big house for a large family. Melissa was a great host. Great living room and dining room area for everyone to hang out in. Plenty of parking also. Itā€™s a little bit of a hike down to the dock but a lot of houses are like that on the lake depending where you stay. Overall a great property.

Nice, clean, could use some updates.

My family group is very clean. Owner was friendly, professional, but was very insistent and rigid on how to recycle, even advising that she would inspect the recycling area. Linens were provided. However, we had to provide our own towels. For the steep price, I had not expected to bring my own bath towels and bath rugs.

Great Location for Skiing at Gore Mountain

House was lovely - with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms to make it comfortable for extended family. My wife and I went with our 3 kids, and 2 other couples - everyone had plenty of space.

The property was exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. Perfect location, beautiful lake access, very comfortable home, and Melissa the host was the most thoughtful/best communicator of any host from whom we have rented. Staying at Melissa Vitoā€™s house on Lake George was a fantastic experience! From the beginning, Melissa was incredibly forthcoming, providing detailed information about everything weā€™d need to arrive, settle in, and depart without any hassle. The layout of the house was ideal, with spacious, comfortable areas to relax and gather. It was also completely furnished with all the essentialsā€”and more! Everything we could have needed was thoughtfully provided, making our stay easy and enjoyable. We couldnā€™t have asked for a better home away from home and look forward to returning.

Heaven on earth...

This booking was by far the easiest and best choice I have made for a getaway. The owner Melissa communicates well and is available should you need anything. We did not because the home is perfectly appointed with everything you will need (I mean everything down to spare sugar/salt/pepper). Bring your family/friends/food/dog/kids and enjoy this private large gorgeous lake house. It is exactly what it should be to fit the Lake George themed cabin atmosphere. If you are expected modern and stucco maybe this is not for you. We loved the wood beams/walls/classic traditional dinning room table for everyone to share a meal from the clean newer three burner Weber grill right off of the porch. We enjoyed the playing billiards on the clean table with a lake view through the large glass window. My daughter played on the swing set and loved the private little "doll house" nestled in the woods right near the kitchen to keep an eye on the kids. The lake house / dock is oversized and two levels. Space to suntan, eat, fish, park your boat and not feel tight at all. The water is crystal clear and you have completely unobstructed views of the lake off the dock. The photo's we took look like a postcard. All I ask is you respect the property, lake and home so it can be as perfect as it was for our visit last week!!! We will be back 110%

Its a large, 5 br. It still has a cabin feel. Very nice and well maintained. Beautiful, easy to get to location. Near both Lake George village and Bolton Landing.

Wonderful stay

We had a group of 6 women relatives. We enjoyed the property and it's amenities.It was quiet and peaceful. Melissa was very responsive and knows her property well. Very nice respite.

Wonderful child- and pet-friendly lake house

This is a GEM at Lake George. Beautiful, private, and family friendly. We appreciated the ample living space, the bottom levels were perfect for a busy toddler to explore, and everything was easily child proofed with owner-provided baby gates and high storage spaces. We felt welcome and easily accommodated with both our child and our dog, and appreciated the ownerā€™s communication throughout the process. The views from the boathouse and the deck above are spectacular. Highly recommend.

Quick Trip To Lake George

Our stay was wonderful! My 3 kids and I stayed 3 nights in October. Apart from playing mini golf for a few hours, we were at the house the entire time. Plenty for the kids to explore and enjoy! This home has all the feel of staying with family. Everything was clean, unique, and worked well. The lake is crystal clear, the boathouse had everything we needed. There was even a hiking trail across the street. Melissa was a fantastic host. She was sincerely considerate and very responsive. Weā€™ll be back!

Great property, great location, great time! My family and I went for a few days and specifically was looking for something clean with access to the lake. My brother and stepdad managed to catch 49 fish during our 3 night stay! Fantastic time.

Beautiful lake location in a cute house

Melissa the host is a great communicator and wants to make sure your stay is wonderful. The house itself is cute, small well equipped kitchen opening to a dining/ living room area with a gas stove that was great to warm up on the cool autumn nights. The bedroom layout offered privacy and would be great if multiple families traveled. 3 were connected w on suite bathrooms, while 2 shared a hallway bath. 2 bedrooms while being private have the option of opening a door between them, 1 had 2 twins one was I believe a full or queen which is perfect if you're traveling with young children. The yard is private and there is a downhill walk to the lake. The boathouse with rooftop deck have the most beautiful lake views! We enjoyed having our coffee every morning on the deck! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, location was just 10 min from Bolton Landing and Lake George Village.. but removed from the crowds and peaceful.

Lovely stay despite the bad weather

Even though the weather was cold and rainy, my family enjoyed gathering in Melissaā€˜s cozy home. The easy access to the lake made it possible to do some fishing and boating in between the raindrops. Melissa was very communicative and responsive to any of our questions or needs. It was a lovely week.

Weekend Family Getaway

Melissa is a wonderful host and a great communicator. Everything is organized and there are clear instructions for most things everywhere, which I really enjoyed. The multiple bathrooms are a plus - it was nice to not have to share (8 adults, 2 children). The property is beautiful and my ideal picture of a perfect, relaxing Adirondack getaway. I would like to stay here again sometime.

Great winter escape

Was everything we expected. Planning on some ice fishing but wasn't any ice.So we cast out for a bit with regular poles no bites but still had a blast with everyone. Good location for shopping in the area.would return again.

Beautiful Holiday Retreat

We had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays at Lake House on Lake George. The home was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Vacation Retreat with a Breathe Taking View :)

This was not my first time in Lake George, But this was my first time renting a house rather than a hotel lodge. This was the best decision I made. Melissa, the owner was very sweet and professional from the moment the house was booked. Her Communication and personality made my experience even better. Thank you. The house is very special. It has a warm and welcoming feel from the start. 5 rooms, 4 bathrooms , great open concept first floor. We had a lot of room to be with the family or stay our distance. The backyard is my favorite point of the house. It has the best Breathe taking view of pilot knob. The wooden Dock has two floors. Top floor has wooden chairs and lounges to sit and enjoy the views with friends and family. The bottom deck provided access to kayaks and a tube to go into the lake. Itā€™s hard to grasp my description in words. You have to go and experience this to see and feel how amazing this is. Overall this Lake house is Great place to be with nature. Relax indoor / outdoors. Travel around the town. Stay indoors and read a book, watch movies , cook and eat. Itā€™s meant for anyone and everyone. The House was clean and has characters. There are hand written notes throughout house to inform us on what switches turns in what, direction on how to operate certain item :) this just shows that Melissa knows her house very well and can help you anytime. this was truly a great experience to my family and me. I would suggest this Lake House Rental to everyone!!!! loved it!!!

This was not my first time in Lake George, But this was my first time renting a house rather than a hotel lodge. This was the best decision I made. Melissa, the owner was very sweet and professional from the moment the house was booked. Her communication and personality made my experience even better. Thank you.
The house is very special. It has a warm and welcoming feel from the start. Five bedrooms rooms, four bathrooms , great open-concept first floor. We had a lot of room to be with the family or stay our distance. The backyard is my favorite point of the house. It has the best breathtaking views of the lake and of Pilot Knob Mountain. The wooden dock has two floors. Top floor has wooden chairs and lounges to sit and enjoy the views with friends and family. The bottom deck provided access to kayaks and a tube to go into the lake.
Itā€™s hard to grasp my description in words. You have to go and experience this to see and feel how amazing this is. Overall this lake house is a great place to be with nature. Relax indoors or outdoors. Travel around the town. Stay indoors and read a book, watch movies , cook and eat. Itā€™s meant for anyone and everyone. The house was clean and has character. There are hand written notes throughout house to inform us on what switches turn on what, directions on how to operate certain items :) This just shows that Melissa knows her house very well and can help you anytime. This was truly a great experience to my family and me. I would suggest this Lake House rental to everyone!!!! Loved it!!!

The article, by MSN writer Maria Bou Ink, cites a ranking from A-Z Animals which names Lake George as the cleanest lake in the United States. It makes note of the fact that Lake George is fed by mountain streams, and resides largely on protected forest land, with little manmade activity outside of the village. The article also praises the lake for being attractive to vacationers.

ā€œConsidering that numerous beautiful lakes from Colorado, Oregon, and Montana were also listed, Lake George has the highest score,ā€ the article states. ā€œAll in all, it is a fantastic location for tourists to enjoy their favorite water activities, and on a hot summer day, it is a lovely body of water that is surrounded by plenty of interesting local sights.ā€
