About the property

This cabin is a hidden paradise that sits on the bend of the river in GlenHaven, CO which is 7 miles from Estes Park. If you are looking for a getaway that is free from t.v. and phone; this is the place for you! It is an A-Frame cabin that brings the simple things to enjoy of the roaring river, fresh air, a quaint little general store with fresh cinnamon rolls (season limited April-October only) and peace and quiet. There are several hiking trails near the cabin in addition to Rocky Mountain National Park. Shopping, dining, hiking, snowshoeing and fishing are all within approximately 10 miles of this simple and loved cabin.

This cabin sleeps 4 comfortably. In the loft upstairs (has steep stairs) is the main bedroom with a queen bed. On the main floor is a small bedroom with 2 single beds.

This property is not handicap accessible and not recommended or elderly limitations or for any group looking for a site to party. It is in a quiet area that has other cabins in- in which some reside in year round. We request our property be respected as well as the noise level of other cabins in the area. It is meant for quiet relaxation of individual's, couples and families. We do not allow pets at this time.

Lovely getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed for five days in this cabin in early spring. We have three young children-18 months, 5, and 7. They really enjoyed the hammock and swing chair overlooking the river out back. The community of cabin dwellers in the area were all exceedingly friendly and welcoming. The cabin itself was beautiful and well appointed with everything we needed. We were glad to finds few extra board games for evening family entertainment. We absolutely loved having the wood burning stove for warmth at night as well as some indoor marshmallow roasting.

The master bedroom loft (accessible only by steep stairway, so be aware that it could be an issue if you have limited mobility) was comfortable and we loved the view out the huge front windows. It was nice to be without any electronics for a week.

The road to town and RMNP is.very steep and has some tight switchbacks, but it's not far to town or the park, so we were able to make easy daily outings to the park and a run to the grocery store wasn't too much of a trek. We highly recommend Cinnamon's for fantastic cinnamon buns.

I can't recommend this place enough. In fact, we are already planning to return next year.

Relaxing and beautiful place!

  • 4 of 5

This property was so beautiful and relaxing! For a family of 6, it met our needs. It would have been nice to have a washer and dryer, but it wasn't too much trouble going into to town to take care of laundry. We did see a bear a few houses down, but he was scared off easily. We really like the country feel of this house with Estes Park less than 10 minutes away. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone needing quiet and relaxation!

Beautiful setting with bubbling stream right out the door! Cabin was clean.. Not fancy but comfy!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect getaway in the mountains! So close to RMNP and all it has to offer! Gem Lake trailhead is nearby! A moderate to difficult trail, but Lumpy Ridge scenery is worth it! Mind warnings of unexpected weather and be prepared for anything.. Hiked from 70's and sunny to hail at the top!The elk herds coming down from the high country ready for the fall rut is an experience! Had the most adventurous, exciting horseback ride up and down a mountain at Cowpoke Corral just South of Estes Park! I have a horse and still am amazed that horses can do that!!! After a day of hiking and fun, it was so nice to come back to our cozy cabin and the bubbling stream! No internet, phone service or TV is very relaxing! Will be back to these beautiful mountains from Rockford,Illinois!

Exceeded Expectations

  • 5 of 5

Hidden Paradise is a very appropriate name for this well cared for cabin. It had all the details to make it easy to just kick back and relax (dozens of books and board games line the shelves). We stayed with our two small boys (ages 1&5) and found it easy to keep them in the room downstairs (there was even a pack & play for us to use!). They loved romping around the yard, swinging on the chair in back, and relaxing on the hammock with Poppa. Kitchen was well appointed and stocked with essentials making it a breeze to cook at home after a long day of hiking. The grill in back is showing it's age (starter no longer works), but it worked just fine for burgers, dogs, chicken (propane was supplied :-D). The close proximity to the stream provides complete quiet and serenity from the world around. Be sure to take care of any cell related activities before reaching the switchbacks into Glen Haven as there is no cell service from here on in (it was nice to disconnect for a week!). Overall a fantastic stay. Thank you Beth & Jeff for sharing your little hideaway.
