Large recently remodeled ski-in ski-out end unit condo with modern kitchen and new carpet and tile floors. Enjoy amazing views of the mountains and Crested Butte from the west-facing, large balcony accessible from the living room and two bedrooms. The first floor has living room, dining area, kitchen, master bedroom (with private bath), and 2 bedrooms with hall bath. The second floor has a loft area with a queen bed and twin bunk, private bedroom, and large bathroom with closet. In all, there are 2 king beds, 3 queen beds, and 1 twin bed. There is a one flight set of stairs from the parking lot to the office and two flights of covered stairs from the 1st to the 3rd floor where the condo is located. The view from the condo is worth climbing the stairs.
At the end of the day, make a fire with wood provided by the condo in the beautiful stone fireplace in the living room.
The fully equipped kitchen is complete with stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher, plus a microwave; coffee maker; toaster; large crock pot; pans and skillets of all sizes; and more than enough plates, glasses, and silverware for a large group. There is a pantry large enough to store the food for the entire group and is stocked with some spices and other necessities.
Books and games are available in the living room, and the loft area has an XBox 360 with games and a table with chairs--a perfect area for kids. There are 4 HDTVs--living room and 3 downstairs bedrooms, cable, iPod Dock/music player, stereo, VCR, & WiFi.
There is new locally-built outdoor furniture on the deck to be able to enjoy the views from outside with a cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening.
San Moritz Condos has a free shuttle service during ski season that will take you anywhere in Mt. Crested Butte or Crested Butte from 8 a.m. till midnight. There is also a free bus all year that runs frequently between Mt. Crested Butte and Crested Butte. There is a sauna and hot tub (hot tub is open only during the ski season) in the building, with sign up sheets for the hot tub so it is private. Weber Charcoal grills are available for guest use in the common area.
Ski-in ski-out is a major plus--you can take a break during the day, come in, relax, have a bite to eat and then go out for the rest of the day. The run down to the condo is one of the best on the mountain with beautiful views. For beginning skiiers who may not be comfortable on this slope, the free shuttle will take them to the base in just a few minutes. After the lifts close in the afternoon, some of the best sledding is on the hill next to the condo.
Besides downhill skiing in the winter, there is cross country skiing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, snow shoeing, and many other winter activities.
In the summer there is plenty to do at the base: take the lift to the top and hike or bike down, there are also activities for the kids--rock climbing wall, trampoline with bungies, and mini golf. Other activities in the area--wildflower festival, hiking, fishing, mountain climbing, horseback riding, mountain biking, white water rafting on the Taylor, and many many miles of mountain roads to explore, plus numerous other activities.

About Gail Hardin
I live in Virginia about 50 miles outside of Washington, DC, and have lived in Virginia my whole life except two years due to a military assignment in Texas when my husband was in the Air Force.
Gail Hardin purchased this Condo in 1995
Why Gail Hardin chose Mount Crested Butte
Having taking family ski vacations every winter to a different western ski resort, we landed in Mt. Crested Butte and fell in love with the area, and in love with the condo because of the location and it was large enough to accommodate the whole family comfortably.
What makes this Condo unique
Crested Butte is one of the places that feels like home even when we first went there. It is a special community unlike other ski resorts--one reason Budweiser picked it for their "Whatever USA" event.

Cozy and well equipped
The third floor location makes unloading kind of a lung buster but the trade off is a private feeling setting (end unit!) and great views. The kitchen has everything you need. Skiers will love the ski-in ski-out and the shuttle service makes evenings out easy and safe for a few extra beverages.
We would absolutely rent this place again!
Great location, dog friendly property
It's hard to find places that are dog friendly and this one was. We brought two dogs with us and they loved it as much as we did. There was a great sledding hill right outside of the condo which was great fun and the slopes were a simple ski down to the West Wall lift, then ski back in. The kitchen and bedrooms were clean, neat, and spacious and there was plenty of room in the dining and living room for 9 people to lounge about.
Great place for large group of people.
Everything as listed. Plenty of sleeping space and open areas for gathering. Ski-in/out was awesome! Convenient and fun.
This condo was just right and Gail, the owner, was great to work with.
This slope-side condo at the base of Crested Butte was a wonderful place to stay. The view over the CB valley was stunning. We easily walked/skied over to the lift in the morning and could watch skiers from the back windows. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well-equipped, and living space was great for visiting in the morning or playing cards in the evening. The three large bathrooms were great for our group, and the loft was fun for the kids (had WI). The blue moon was beautiful from the upstairs sky light.
Great, spacious condo in Crested Butte
We were there over summertime and had great views from the front porch. Very spacious and ideal for a group of friends in town for a wedding or ski trip. Would definitely stay there again
Best view in Colorado
This property has an amazing view from the front deck, looking back through the mountains at sunset. There are multiple bedrooms with lots of options for kids and adults. Above average kitchen equipment. And the owner was very friendly and helpful. CAUTION: to reach the front door of this unit, there are almost four full flights of stairs, and the property does not have an elevator. It can be an arduous climb if you are not acclimated to the elevation or are not in excellent shape.
