Come and enjoy our cottage set in the Loire Valley just minutes from Sancerre and only 15 minutes from the A71 to Paris (2 hours away). With its oak beams, stone walls and private garden with fountain, our property is set on the grounds of a 17th century Tithe Barn Farm. Conveniently situated between Sancerre and Pouilly sur Loire vineyards it’s the perfect home base for wine tours! Also we are just 10 minutes from the sandy beaches of the Loire and its nature reserve. We will be happy to advise you on the sites and activities locally available.

Gem in the Loire Valley

This was our fourth and final rental on a two week trip in France. It was probably our favorite. Located in a small village, it was a short drive from there to some wonderful destinations. The countryside, towns and villages in that area are beautiful. The gite (rental) is separate from the hosts house, and is quiet, well appointed, and clean. There is ample parking on the property. The hosts were wonderful, great to talk to, but also thoughtful of our privacy. We wish them the best.

Charmerende landhus

Dejligt hus, som var køligt, hvilket var perfekt når man skulle sove. Fin lille forhave, hvor vi kunne spise alle vores måltider. Mathew er sød og imødekommende og meget behjælpelig med hvad, der var værd at se i området. Nem kommunikation på engelsk.

Zeer leuk huisje, mooie omgeving en gastvrije eigenaren

Het huisje is zeer mooi en verzorgd. In de omgeving zijn verschillende leuke plaatsjes om te bezoeken met bijvoorbeeld leuke marktjes. We werden zeer gastvrij ontvangen, met veel uitleg over de omgeving.

Joanna und Matthew sind sehr herzliche Gastgeber mit vielen Tipps um die Umgebung zu erkunden und dem nötigen Feingefühl die Privatsphäre zu achten. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder!

A little gem in the countryside

Great friendly and enthousiastic owners. Always ready to give information. The gîte was clean and features everything you need. Fantastic shower. Great place! Recommended for everyone looking for a quiet place in the countryside.

Landleben pur!

Sehr nette und herzliche Vermieter, die Gite schön eingerichtet und in einem guten Zustand. Der Außenbereich ist gut ausgestattet und bietet Privatsphäre, wunderschöne Landschaft mit interessanten Städten in der Nähe (la Charité, Bourges...) Die Landruhe nachts einige Male durch einen kläffenden Hund gestört, dafür kann ja aber niemand was;-)

Fantastic!

The owners are incredibly nice and hospitable. They can tell you all about the region and know the "hidden gems". The house is very comfortable and cool, even in a heatwave (!). The region (Sancerre, Bué) is excellent for cycling: quiet roads with beautiful views. This won't be the last time we stayed here! Highly recommended.

Ein gemütliches Haus

Matthew und Joanna sind sehr nette Vermieter, welche viel zu der Region. den möglichen Ausflügen und natürlich dem Sancerre erzählen können. Ein Ausflug mit Matthew zu seinem eigenen Weinlieferanten ist ein Erlebnis. Alles, die Region und die Unterkunft sind zu empfehlen. Und es ist wunderbar ruhig, ein Genuss für strapazierte Ohren :-)

Liebevoll und mit Stil eingerichtetes Ferienhäuschen

Ein sehr liebevoll, zurückhaltend eingerichtetes Ferienhäuschen, das den Charme des alten Gemäuers voll zur Wirkung bringt. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und uns über unsere freundlichen Gastgeber gefreut. Wenn wir mal wieder in der Gegend sind, kommen wir gerne wieder.

Lovely charming cottage in the Loire Valley

This is a lovely and charming cottage in the setting of the farms and vineyards of the Loire Valley. The cottage was beautifully restored with rustic beams, a nice kitchen, and a spiral staircase leading to the bedroom with two comfortable beds and skylights. We were greeted by ducks and chickens in the private front yard and presented a bottle of Sancerre by the owner. The property is ideally situated close to to the town of Sancerre and its vineyards and made it an easy day trip for visiting the chateaux of the Loire Valley. In addition, the owner provided us with access to two bicycles which we used for exploring the area. We had an absolutely fabulous time during our visit here and will definitely return in the near future.

So perfect !

Un charmant cottage,confortable et bien aménagé ainsi que complet. Un accueil complet, tant sur le village que sur la région.Mr et Mme Pouffier sont agréables et disponibles tout en faisant preuve d'une discrétion à l'égard leurs hôtes qui n'à d'égal que leur gentillesse. Nous le recommandons et y retournerons.

Feux (Sancerre area) property 739453

Probably the cleanest and most tastefully renovated space we have ever rented through Homeaway (and we do it at least once a year). Matthew and Joanne were great hosts. With two young children and another business to run, one of them was always available to us and shared info of restaurants and sites. Matthew took us to a vineyard where we bought Sancerre for a quarter the price we can get it in NY, and it was far superior. The town of Feux with only 300 residents, was centrally located for lots of things to see and do within driving distance. Only drawback was that four days wasn't long enough to do all we wanted and I'd recommend coming earlier in the fall than we did for warmer days. Also circular stairs separating bedroom and bathroom wouldn't work for anyone elderly or disabled, but was fine for us.

Authentic French Countryside

Getting to know the owners and their family was a highlight of my trip! Owners were warm and outstanding hosts, very helpful with local sightseeing and directions. The unit is brand new - very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for a countryside get-away, set in the middle of farming fields and quaint towns.

Delightful Cottage

This is a clean and inviting cottage in a small village near Sancerre. We found it to be an excellent base to visit Sancerre and other small villages nearby. The owners - Mathew and JoAnna - spoke excellent English and were very helpful for planning our excursions and finding everything we needed. The village has a small bakery and cafe, and we found supermarkets nearby to stock the tiny kitchen. We hope to return some year soon and would happily stay in the same cottage if it is available.
