Stay aboard a Beautiful Sailboat

Bedrooms 2
Space 400 sq. ft.
Property type boat

About the property

2 staterooms aboard a beautiful Sailboat

Maya is a lovely and well appointed Hans Christian 43'. She has two state rooms that can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 kids. As Captain of the vessel I am required to stay on board with you and I can provide an evening cruise on the bay, a few hours before settling into the anchorage. Life aboard a ship like Maya is a fascinating journey and a whole lot of fun. Please call with any questions and I will be more than willing to accommodate your needs.

Typically I meet people at Morro Bay Landing around 5pm. Then we head out onto the bay for a harbor tour. Lots of interesting sights and sounds on the water. After harbor tour we find a safe place to anchor and settle in for the evening. If you want to get a dinghy ride to the sandspit for a walk on the beach, or get dropped off at the dock for a trip into town. Dinner aboard the boat can be fun as the boat is well appointed to cook anything you can imagine!

In the morning you can have breakfast onboard, enjoy a cup of coffee with the sunrise and then disembarking at 10am. For longer stays or for sailing adventures outside the harbor please call and we can discuss the details and costs.

The price includes: harbor tour, towels and bedding, ice, light snacks and beverages, coffee and gourmet breakfast.

The price does not include: dinner meal, wine or other spirits. It is recommended that you have dinner on shore or bring groceries for preparing dinner aboard the boat.

About Terry Hooker

I love being on the water. So naturally my wife and I bought the boat to live aboard. We lived on Maya for a year until our first child arrived. Now I am chartering Maya and taking passengers out on daysails and overnight trips to San Simeon and Avila Beach. Staying for the night in Morro Bay is a great way to get a taste of the local culture and water front activities.

Terry Hooker purchased this boat in 2010

Why Terry Hooker chose Morro Bay

A totally unique experience!

What makes this boat unique

Sunrise on the bay and the sound of sea while settling in for the night!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Captain Terry and the Maya Sailing Adventures was an experience my family and I will never forget. We went on an overnight sailing trip with Captain Terry and he was AMAZING!!!. He was so accommodating, thoughtful and made us feel right at home. The Maya is a beautiful boat with plenty of room, clean and just so beautifully maintained. We watched whales as they swam by us very, VERY to us, we fished and had an overall excellent experience. Join Captain Terry and Maya for your next sailing adventure, you’ll be glad you did.

A lovely getaway!

We drove up from LA to Morro Bay to celebrate my birthday weekend. We had an absolutely amazing time on the boat. We could not have asked for a better Captin. Terry was very hospitable, accommodating and extremely knowledgeable on all related to the boat and environment we were inhabiting. He was a true pleasure to spend time with. The boat was in beautiful condition, comfortable, clean and well organized. We sailed around the bay, cooked dinner, and drank wine under the lit stars as I blew out my birthday candles. Our only wish was that we had the time to book a longer trip. Spending a couple nights sailing with Terry sounds like a dream. Next time ..we will definitely be back!

Thank you Thank you!

A must do adventure!

My wife and I stayed on Maya for a night for our marriage anniversary. It was a true adventure. Our captain, Terry is an amazing person. He was very patient in explaining about the boat and teaching us how to sail.

Our Day started at around 11AM on a Saturday when Terry met us, helped us get our stuff to the boat. Told us about the boat, answered all the questions we had

We had a few drinks and relaxed a little bit before we took a Dingy to the secluded Sandspit. We had a picnic, with lunch prepared by the captain, and took a nice and long hike.

We headed back to the boat, enjoyed the beautiful sunset, had some drinks and headed to a nearby restaurant for dinner. When we got back, we sat down with Terry spoke a little bit about Yoga, Terry's travel adventures, the boat, what life is like being a sailor, some more tips about sailing. We went to bed around 11PM, had a nice sleep in one of the intimate bedrooms, woke up at around 7AM, enjoyed the sunrise and the tranquil waters, sailed a bit more, had a nice breakfast. The Strawberry Guava juice made by Terry was our favorite. Our adventure ended at around 10AM on Sunday. It was a little sad to say goodbye to leave Maya and our wonderful captain. But I am sure we will be go back smile emoticon I would love to go back and take a trip to the Channel Islands. I recommend getting a taste of Maya to anyone I know. #oneunforgettabletrip #mayaadventures
