Maya is a lovely and well appointed Hans Christian 43'. She has two state rooms that can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 kids. As Captain of the vessel I am required to stay on board with you and I can provide an evening cruise on the bay, a few hours before settling into the anchorage. Life aboard a ship like Maya is a fascinating journey and a whole lot of fun. Please call with any questions and I will be more than willing to accommodate your needs.
Typically I meet people at Morro Bay Landing around 5pm. Then we head out onto the bay for a harbor tour. Lots of interesting sights and sounds on the water. After harbor tour we find a safe place to anchor and settle in for the evening. If you want to get a dinghy ride to the sandspit for a walk on the beach, or get dropped off at the dock for a trip into town. Dinner aboard the boat can be fun as the boat is well appointed to cook anything you can imagine!
In the morning you can have breakfast onboard, enjoy a cup of coffee with the sunrise and then disembarking at 10am. For longer stays or for sailing adventures outside the harbor please call and we can discuss the details and costs.
The price includes: harbor tour, towels and bedding, ice, light snacks and beverages, coffee and gourmet breakfast.
The price does not include: dinner meal, wine or other spirits. It is recommended that you have dinner on shore or bring groceries for preparing dinner aboard the boat.
I love being on the water. So naturally my wife and I bought the boat to live aboard. We lived on Maya for a year until our first child arrived. Now I am chartering Maya and taking passengers out on daysails and overnight trips to San Simeon and Avila Beach. Staying for the night in Morro Bay is a great way to get a taste of the local culture and water front activities.
Terry Hooker purchased this boat in 2010
Sunrise on the bay and the sound of sea while settling in for the night!
My wife and I stayed on Maya for a night for our marriage anniversary. It was a true adventure. Our captain, Terry is an amazing person. He was very patient in explaining about the boat and teaching us how to sail.
Our Day started at around 11AM on a Saturday when Terry met us, helped us get our stuff to the boat. Told us about the boat, answered all the questions we had
We had a few drinks and relaxed a little bit before we took a Dingy to the secluded Sandspit. We had a picnic, with lunch prepared by the captain, and took a nice and long hike.
We headed back to the boat, enjoyed the beautiful sunset, had some drinks and headed to a nearby restaurant for dinner. When we got back, we sat down with Terry spoke a little bit about Yoga, Terry's travel adventures, the boat, what life is like being a sailor, some more tips about sailing. We went to bed around 11PM, had a nice sleep in one of the intimate bedrooms, woke up at around 7AM, enjoyed the sunrise and the tranquil waters, sailed a bit more, had a nice breakfast. The Strawberry Guava juice made by Terry was our favorite. Our adventure ended at around 10AM on Sunday. It was a little sad to say goodbye to leave Maya and our wonderful captain. But I am sure we will be go back smile emoticon I would love to go back and take a trip to the Channel Islands. I recommend getting a taste of Maya to anyone I know. #oneunforgettabletrip #mayaadventures
