Luxurious Oceanfront Estate on Vallarta's South Shore, Pool, Jacuzzi, Chef, Maid

We were very disappointed Shawn did not have a more enjoyable stay. We have over 100 5-star ratings over the past 3 years. She literally started calling with an hour of being in the house and complained more than all the guest we have ever had combined. We felt her complaining was simply an effort to get a discount on her stay. About the Wifi. My wife and I are both on call for our jobs 24-7. It is essential our homes have reliable high speed internet. Neither of us have ever had any issue with the internet service or we would switch to another provider. The only caveat to this is that the house has 4 levels. It is about 40-50 feet down to the ocean. The internet works great on the main level but is not going to work down stairs next to the ocean. Casa Mis Rocas has a great deal of wildlife that come in all shapes and sizes. Yes, there are land crabs that occasionally take a wrong turn and fall into the pool. Since land crabs can't swim, we simply scoop them up with the pool net to escort them to a more desirable location. The ants she mentions are leaf cutter ants which don't bite anything except, you guessed it.... leaves. The don't bite and they don't like conflict. We do provide several types of insect repellents for our guests to avoid being bitten by the indigenous gnats. Other than that, I have never seen a mosquito or anything else that could bother our guests. Regarding holes in the walls. We did have to partially remove two 6" X 6" areas in the walls so could upgrade the AC units. They could not be filled immediately because we needed to make sure the new units didn't leak. One was in a closet the other 12 feet above the main floor. I am not sure what Shawn's issue was because it did not interfere with her stay in the least. Last, the dishwasher did have a small leak. The leak was repaired by 9 am the next day. It did not flood the house our cause any damage.

I do wish Dave would have called. The area was hit by 2 hurricanes within weeks of each other. Repairs have been made and the house is back to normal. Dave

We've been renting Mis Rocas and other properties for 5 years and have accumulated over 200 5-Star reviews on this and other bnb sites. If you take the time to read Khalisha's review, we hope you will be willing to look at other, more main stream and trustworthy reviews. Her claims surfaced after the rental ended and she began aggressively demanding a full refund. Interesting enough, she also demanded a full refund from a local tourist agency whom she set up an ATV mountain tour. She went to their offices yelling at them demanding her money back because she overslept and didnt show up for the prepaid reservation. I am uncertain why she thinks oversleeping is a valid excuse for a refund. After it became apparent she was trying to blackmail us to get a refund we decided to look into her past and found out she has a history of fraud, forgery and conspiracy to commit fraud. We thought VRBO was screening guess with a criminal history but learned they did not. All that being said, let me address her accusations. 1. First, regarding her attempt to play the race card. My wife and I live in the US, so we had no idea what her ethnicity was until she left this comment in her review. Second, my wife is of mixed race so her comments about being treated poorly because she is African-American are absurd and probably a pretty clear reflection of her true character. Her comment is untrue and intentionally inflamatory. 2. Yes, we have hot water heaters and they work perfectly. I hate cold water so if they weren't working, I’d fix them if for nothing else my own comfort. Her comment is untrue. 3. Yes, the pool and hot tub are heated. If you want the pool heated, simply tell the house manager the day before because it takes up to 8 hours to warm up. If you don’t ask we may incorrectly assume you are not going to swim. Her comment is untrue. 4. The Wi-Fi and the internet connections in Mexico are not as robust as it in US. It can be spotty especially during bad weather but 90% of the time it works great, however, if it’s not working, there are places that usually have great Wi-Fi, including Starbucks and the Botanical Gardens. If our Wi-Fi is not working and you have to go to either place, we would be happy to buy you a drink... on us. 5. Regarding live-in staff. We've had the same group of amazing employees for 6 years. We have 2-husband and wife teams. Jorge and his wife have been together for over 30 years and Ramiro and his wife have been together for 6 years and have two small children. None of our employees live or stay at the house for 2 basic reasons. First, we usually rent out every room. Second, they have their own lives, houses, and children they need to go home to. Her comment is untrue. 6. Bugs… we do live in a tropical forest on the ocean. There are moths, ants, whales, sea turtles, crabs etc everywhere. Eight of the 9 bedrooms have sliding doors that open so you can view the water and enjoy the fresh air. The downside of this is, if you leave the lights on in the room and the doors open at night….you might expect a few Moths and June bugs to join you in your room. If this concerns you then simply shut the outside doors when you leave. This would probably be true of any place on earth except maybe Antarctica. Her comment is untrue. Last commentary: We don’t like unhappy guests and we all bend over backwards to make sure everyone has a great time.
