    Wonderful slice of paradise

    Another wonderful stay at such a gorgeous little bach. You can feel the love and life in this place. It may not be fancy but it is everything we needed for a relaxing stay in such an incredible location.

    Cosy little cottage near the lake

    We had a lovely stay at this beautiful old cottage that is clearly loved. The kids made themselves at home and had a fantastic time exploring the house and surrounds too.

    Slice of paradise

    Astelia cottage felt like a home away from home. Very tidy warm and cosy and very peaceful. Great location to some very beautiful lakes awesome hikes for the light hearted and the brave and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.

    Relaxing and very comfortable stay

    We enjoyed the tranquility and serenity of this venue. It's within easy walk of short local walks and longer ones. Our 19 month grandson visited for a day and he happily and easily managed the nearby walks with so much for him to explore. Lovely, homely place to stay with welcoming information from the owners.

    Great Traditional Bach Experience

    Ideal location, walkable distance on nice tracks to the lake, shops and school playground. Nice old bach, still very functional. Great for a young family.

    Family weekend catch up

    Authentic kiwi bach with lots of atmosphere. Clean and tidy and enough room for five guests. Wood fire available for winter months. Easy walking distance to the lake front and Alpine Lodge for coffee and food. Situated in the native bush with plenty of amazing bird life.

    Classic Kiwi bach with everything we needed for 2 night stay. Couldn’t find an info folder which would have been handy. Right next to Black Valley walkway. Recommend taking boat to Lakehead Hut jetty & walking the track back to Kerr Bay (3 hours)

    Kiwi experience

    Our stay at Astelia Cottage was wonderful. It is a typical Kiwi Bach, we felt quite comfortable and enjoyed the quirkyness of the building. Great shower and comfortable beds. Just one thing to note to owners, kettle is not working, not a problem boiled water on the stove : )
