My party of six drove up for a ski weekend and rented this lovely cabin. Beware all future renters, if there is snow on the ground, ensure that your car is up to the task of driving on slick roads, the neighborhood this cabin is in has some serious hills, and stay icy long after the main roads have thawed. Also make sure you arrive with plenty of daylight, again if there has been moderate to heavy snowfall, as the plows cover the driveways completely. I was notified the driveway would be shoveled prior to our arrival, but to make sufficient space for an SUV and a sedan in the driveway required about 2 hours of additional labor (snow shovel was provided). Also, the directions to turn the water on are a little misleading. There is a green pole marking the location of the water, and the water valve itself is labeled in gold, neither of which was mentioned in the book, took a call to the owner to discover this. There is a wrench provided to turn on the water, but unlike the directions provided, the valve is actually lefty loosey, righty tighty, contrary to the book. Ok, those hiccups are addressed. As to the cabin, the pictures do not do it justice. It is beautiful inside and immaculately clean, with all bedding and dishware provided, it is the quintessential weekend getaway cabin! The rental ad on this website mentions that there is a hot tub, but after we booked we were notified that it is down for the season for maintenance, so be aware of that prior to booking. The fireplace was beautiful, and there is plenty of provided firewood. The house heater kept the house nice and toasty. On the second day, we noticed the hot water was no hotter than lukewarm. We figured because it was so cold outside no problem. However, when we returned from a long day of skiing (around 7pm), we found that the water heater had shut off, and any water was ice cold. We followed the directions on the booklet and on the heater itself to no avail, and since it was so late at night there was no way it would be fixed by morning. Directions to cleanup were straightforward, of note there isn't specific directions for trash dump on the book provided, just google big bear trash drop off and you'll find it (On Garmin Dr.) Overall, I enjoyed our stay, again the cabin was beautiful, and if they get the hot water heater and hot tub fixed it would be 5 stars! P.S. Remember, if it has snowed, get ready to shovel!
