Ocean Sands Resort with a nice Oceanfront Balcony

These are 1 bedroom 1 bath timeshare units with full kitchens and everything you need. The resort is oceanfront on VA Beach. The resort is ranked 12 out of 115 in VAB. This unit sleeps up to 4 people and is conveniently located at 23rd and Atlantic in the heart of Virginia Beach. Great place to ride bikes or rollerblade. Unit has a full kitchen stocked with pots pans and dishes so no need to eat out. flat screens in the living room and bedroom, really comfortable beds, nice bathrooms.

The boardwalk, restaurants, bars, night life, roller coasters and rides, mini golf, arcades, and the ocean front and beaches are all right downstairs/close by. Great place for kids and adults.

The city of VA Beach pays bands and street acts to perform on every other street corner every night between 17th and 30th Street. Free concerts at the several pavilions up and down the boardwalk. Great place to ride bikes or rollerblade. Parking included. Indoor pool and hot tub. Arcade games, gym, activities, grocery delivery from Harris Teeter. 45 minutes from Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg.

booked 2 months in advance, only to be told by facility while I was checking in that they no longer honor the hostā€™s reservations as it is a time share and itā€™s against policy. I called up the host and was told I would see a refund and get a call back. Neither had happened.

BEWARE - Do not book through this owner

The property of Ocean Sands is fine. Nice place. Iā€™ve stayed here before. Unfortunately, this trip I booked through VRBO and owner of the unit Peter. After driving several hours I get there only to find that the resort no longer recognize reservations made through Peter and is fully booked. I wonā€™t get into the reasons but Ocean Sands is NOT at fault. At first Peter is angry when I call to relate Iā€™m stranded with no place to stay and was apologetic. After calling around, Peter is unable to obtain us lodging. Ocean Sands also called around to try and find availability. Peter did refund our money but our planned for weekend getaway was ruined. This whole incident was avoidable by the owner Peter. Beware before you book through this owner.

Relaxation

This was the perfect spot to relax and hardly have to leave for food or drink with an on site restaurant. No breakfast but it is just across the street and excellent food!

Older resort on the boardwalk

This is resort that has been sold as timeshares. It is showing it's age. The place is kept clean. There was no reservation made at the resort for our stay. The owner didn't let the property know we where coming. We had printed out the email sent out by the owner and where able to check in using that. In the description of the rental it says smoking is okay on the balcony that is not the case.the bed was not very comfortable. We will look for some place else next time we go to Virginia Beach

Check In Nightmare

The owner of the property did not do their job and notify the resort that we were coming. We waited 45 minutes to check in. Called Property owner twice (voice mailbox full) and texted him four times. We never got a reply. Daniel, who worked the front desk, finally got authorization from the GM to put us in a unit. Daniel was great. My wife was not happy and neither was I. If you rent property there from Owner, Peter, Beware.

Labor Day trip

Everything was good and as expected. The mattress on the queen bed and pull out need replaced badly. Probably the worst Iā€™ve ever slept on anywhere. The floors were dirty. Had to keep shoes on the whole time. Otherwise, all was well! I would rebook if the mattresses are replaced.

Absolutely perfect for us!

The place was exactly what we needed and perfectly placed on the "strip". We had a very nice stay and we really recommend it. *If you count on the hide-a-bed, make sure its for a little kid. Matress is very uncomfy

Communication was terrible. Had to be moved to non ocean front, not even beach front, to a completely different facility because of over booking. (Booked 8 months prior) Was supposed to be credited $150 for that and all the trouble and have yet to see it.

Great location

The building is older, but our unit was very clean and comfortable. The building has a nice pool and free laundry. The location was top tier, with a balcony looking out on the boardwalk and beach.

Nice off-season stay at the beach

Unit is small, but clean and efficient. Enjoyed the pool; great beach and boardwalk, of course. Good restaurants versus near by, but many are not open in February. Staff at the resort were friendly and helpful. (For some reason our single 8-day vrbo booking was 3 separate reservations in their system, which took some extra effort.) Overall, just what we were looking for.

Misleading listing and Poor communication

I booked and travelled to this Oceanfront property from out of town. After showing up to check in to the property, the office manager tells me that there are no rooms left in their building for the night. Confused, I come to find out that the host had left me a message 1 hour before I arrived mentioning that I had been moved to a sister property 5 minutes down the road due to "water damage". After arriving to the sister property and talking to the office manager there, I find out that I was given a "marina view" room with no balcony. This second property was lacking the amenities that were one of the few reasons I booked the listing initially. During the entire evening, I called the host multiple times and received no return communication. Office management from the first property mentioned that this host has miscommunicated with them in the past. Thankfully, I was able to I work with Vrbo support to get different accommodations for the remainder of my trip.

Excellent Stay

The staff was very helpful and polite, the room was clean and cozy. The jets in the tub didn't work but everything else was perfect!!!! We will be staying there again.
