2 bedroom apartment in a quiet family friendly stairwell. About 25 minutes walk to city center or 2 minutes walk to bus stop. Free parking in front of building.
Main bedroom has a 160x200 cm bed and spare bedroom has a sofa bed 145x200 cm. Common bathroom inside apartment. Kitchen has everything needed for cooking. Washer and dryer located in basement.
TV with Netflix. Sofa in living room can be used as a third bed.
Check-in can be flexible if other guests are not checking-out same day. Luggage storage not possible.

This was a perfect location to stay. It has ample parking for free all around the building, while still being within walking distance of downtown Reykjavik. There is a sandwich shop just 3 minutes away, and a grocery store about a 7 minute drive away. If you're like me and you want to drive around Iceland, and then come home and cook your own meals, this place couldn't be better. It was the ideal home base. The kitchen is shockingly well stocked. They have every utensil and accessory you could think have, plus salt and pepper and oil. I grabbed a few extra things at the grocery store thinking I'd need them and was pleasantly surprised at how much there was in the kitchen. This was a huge plus for me. The building is quiet, and the area is very friendly. The apartment was spotless and clean, and there were plenty of towels in the bathroom. I stayed here by myself, but this could easily and comfortably fit a full family without anyone getting in the way of each other. Even little bonuses that I didn't use like a proper guitar and a nice collection of books made this place really feel like home for my stay. I don't like hotels or hotel vibes, and this was really just a home away from home. As another review said, it really just feels like you're missing all of your clothes. It's just that home-y. I will be coming back to Iceland and this will absolutely be the first place that I look for to stay at again. I couldn't have been happier here.

I could live here

Lots of time VRBOs feel a little sterile. This one felt like all it was missing was the rest of my clothes. Very well appointed, including two bedside tables with lamps! Nice and clean.

Wonderful home base for our stay in Reykjavik

We loved this location for it's proximity both to the city center and the ring road for day trips to the north and south, it was clean, comfortable and a wonderful space to come back to and rest/relax each day!

Perfect Family Home Base

If your dates are available, do not hesitate to book this flat. Excellent location-- central, safe, and quiet neighborhood. There is abundant parking, a small grocery, and a bakery within walking distance for quick runs. My husband and I, along with our 2 teenage kids had a very comfortable stay. The flat is clean, well-maintained, tastefully decorated, and more spacious than the pictures. Storage spaces keep your stuff organized. Everything you need to prepare and enjoy meals onsite or pack for trips is provided. Steinar is great to work with and his instructions for everything from check-in, to use of amenities, and checkout are spot on! Thanks, Steinar for your great attention to detail in making sure your renters have a wonderful home base to truly enjoy Iceland!

The property was clean and well kept; I'd happily stay there again! I thought the location would be too far from the city center but I was wrong. The property is close to a bus stop (both directions), which was helpful in getting around Reykjavik. The shopping mall is also a short walk from the property. A Bonus grocery store is in the mall. Parking was available and plentiful, which was great for the duration of my stay in which I had a rented vehicle.

Hlidar Apartment

Hello Travelers My spouse and I enjoyed our week long stay at this apartment in a quiet neighborhood. All the amenities were available to make our stay as comfortable as home. There was easy access to the bus system (about a 3-5 minute walk). Steinar's directions and communications were excellent! We recommend the bakery near the edge of the neighborhood for nice pastry, sandwiches and coffee. We would definitely come back to this apartment for another stay in Iceland! Steinar is a true super host!

Relaxing stay

Steinar is a responsive and helpful host. His place is as advertised, with fully furnished kitchen (even a rice cooker for the rice lovers). It’s a convenient location for public transportation (which follows its schedule reasonably well), as well as for use as a base with a rental car. (We spent two days on public transportation and four with a rental car getting out further). Being in Steinar’s apartment is relaxing and there are various entertainment options, so after one long day out we spent much of the next day just relaxing in the apartment.

perfect stay

We were on a short trip to Iceland over long weekend. A family of four stayed with comfort: very quite neighborhood, walked everywhere, grocery near by, a park, countless playgrounds, walked to bus terminal for our Golden circle excursion. Well equipped kitchen, spacious living room, dining area - books, games for kids. We could not ask for a better stay.

Hidden Gem

We staying over the New Year 2022 for three nights on our way home from Europe. This place is perfect - plenty of space for two adult and our almost teenage son with a nice kitchen fully stocked with dishes and utensils. Washer/dryer combo unit is available in the basement. Ample free parking right outside, a easy 5 minute walk to a small convenience store, yummy bakery, and pharmacy; easy 10 minute walk to the Kringlan mall with two large grocery stores, coffee stand, liquor store, and covid testing site for travel home. Also in walking distance (within 30 minutes) is the Perlan museum with trails surrounding, a geothermal beach, the zoo and botanical gardens, and old town. We had an unexpected extension to our stay when my husband tested positive right before our flight home. Steinar was wonderful to communicate with and we managed to extend our stay another week (luckily it wasn't booked). Discovered grocery delivery and the place proved more than adequate for three people in isolation/quarantine. We even saw the northern lights off the balcony one night! It's a pretty industrial looking building (typical for the area) but the unit is really nice and well decorated and the area has a very family-friendly vibe. We can say that we have never experienced a New Year celebration that comes close - the fireworks displays were overwhelming! Only possible downsides - the unit is on the top (4th) floor and there is no elevator/lift (didn't prove an issue for us). Also the hot water is obviously right out of the ground and has a sulfur smell (once again, not an issue but we noticed). We will stay here again!

Clean modern apartment in downtown location

My family stayed in this apartment for the last two nights of our trip and it was really wonderful experience. My kids think it's the best place to stay during our trip. The apartment is modern style interior and kept very clean with all your needs there. There are two bedrooms each with a queen or full size bed. Location is great near everything and there is free community parking downstairs. The owner sent clear instruction two days before our arrival. Our staying here couldn't be better!

Excellent apartment close to the city

We spend 6 nights 7 days in Iceland and this apartment was a home away from home, it is close to a market, bakery (yummy), and the center in 5-10 minutes. Very close to the COVID 19 testing clinic what makes it a plus when arranging to come back home. The apartment comes fully furniture, great taste, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook and made nice dishes for your family. The owner communicates fast. Highly recommended.

Light, bright, and airy

Steinar's apartment was lovely, clean and well maintained. We loved that it was walkable to everything and that we had the convenience of the #55 bus to the airport. We would absolutely stay again!

A better than expected experience

Looking through the listing we knew it would be nice, but once we got there it was MUCH better than the listing makes it look. 2 full private rooms, one master, one larger style guest room. Tons of storage, could stay here for weeks! We got downtown in ~9 and could even get downtown and home with just scooters! Lovely base camp for your trip to Iceland, great host communication too.

A perfect place in Reykjavik

My friend and I stayed for a week and found this property lovely! Travel from there was super convenient and it was in a family friendly neighborhood. We found the grocery store and cooked often and loved our apartment. Super clean and well appointed!
