The property had everything we needed! It was exactly as pictured. We loved the location, the access to the pool and the quick walk to the beach. We will definitely stay in this location again.

The property was super clean, super quiet, a few steps away from the beach and located at a perfect spot close to grocery stores and other shopping/dining locations. The pool was so clean - probably the cleanest pool I’ve ever been in on vacation at the beach. Very impressed.

We had a good time. Very clean and very convenient. Would stay here again. The only bad thing I can say is if you don’t stay the whole week you have to pay extra for towels and linens, part of me gets it the other part is like really??? But seriously, great place would definitely stay again

Overall the property had a great location and also good amenities. My one suggestion would be that the HVAC be quieter, but it was a wonderful stay.

Well rested

Our unit was great! Loved the upper deck and gazebo access. Beautiful sunrises! I have to say (and I know this is the norm) but no tp, soap and paper towels made me feel very unwelcomed. Sorry but when you pay $$$ I don't think its unreasonable to expect at least 1 roll of each and some hand soap. Again it's industry standard but I find to be rude. Most people are traveling a long way and want to go to the bathroom asap! I don't agree with picking up the packet! Door code can be emailed and packet left in room or pu the next day. Adding time and miles to the trip unnecessarily makes no sense.

Amazing place and location, checkin a problem

Overall this place was amazing but the checkin process /welcoming has made me never want to stay here again. I was forced to drive 45 mins round trip PAST my VRBO in Nags Head to go north to Kitty Hawk to get the "keys" to the place. Get there and pick up my packet. No keys. Just a 6 digit code that YOU COULD HAVE EMAILED ME!! There were no trash bags in any of the trash cans. The liability paperwork i signed mentioned they would leave 1 roll of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels. There was literally a SINGLE paper towel left on the roll. One bathroom had no TP, the other a 3/4 used roll. So to those who stay here in the future. Bring trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex and definitely don't forget soap! You're expected to was the dishes with no soap on hand.

Great location. Awesome pool. Check in process - no communication from the property manager. Luckily I called 2 days before to verify what we needed to do in order to check in after waiting for an email or text with any kind of direction/guidance. ***PLEASE READ** WE FOUND A BLINK CAMERA MODULE INSIDE OF UNIT - BEHIND THE HOT WATER TANK AGAINST THE WALL! (obvious that it was being hidden). The module was ON with the blue light FLASHING. A USB was INSERTED INSIDE OF THE MODULE. After searching the entire unit inside and out we were unable to locate a camera (although we were sure it was inside of the “private” closet). After speaking to the property manager, she spoke to the property owner who admitted that there WAS a camera inside of the private closet but assured us that it had not been setup yet, however, nobody was willing to come prove this to us. Oddly enough, the property owner DID voice to the manager that she knew her camera module had been unplugged (how did she know the module had been unplugged if the camera wasn’t setup)? Please just be aware of this if you are staying in this unit.

Read the lease agreement...seriously

The property was pretty nice, clean, nice decor, mere steps from the beach. You have to bring toilet paper, towels, and basically everything else, though they do leave you cleaning supplies and a toilet bowl brush. Patty, the person who cleaned our unit prior to our arrival, did a great job and deserves a shout out. The customer service is abysmal. I didn't throughly read the lease agreement as I have a job/life and didn't have time to scour the lease ageeement for every detail. I asked them 2 days before I checked in what the code is to get in. The response was "everything will be there when you arrive". They failed to mention that I needed to drive to their office in Kitty Hawk to pick up a piece of paper with the code on it. I arrived at the property around 5ish. The office at this property is Windjammer, not Carolina shores. I called both numbers and left messages because the office was closed. I even reached out to vrbo so they could help me, but all they could do was reach out to the property manager (vrbo customer service is good, they seemed to care). Windjammer explained to me that they are not affiliated with Carolina shores, and they couldn't help me get in. Carolina shores returned my call more than 3 hours later. By that time, I was standing in the lobby of the Outer Banks Inn trying to check in because I didnt want my kids to have to sleep in a car overnight. The lady on the phone was dismissive and rude, just stated the instructions were in the lease agree

Nice place on the beach!

The oceanfront accessibility was great for our family if we needed to run back to rental for anything while on the beach. The pool was a favorite with my son, he would have stayed in it all day if he could! This was our first visit back to the OBX since 2019 and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, would definitely recommend!

Left kicking and screaming--desperately wanted to stay longer!

This property is very nice; the location is rather ideal and the inside was very clean. We appreciated the cleanliness very much, especially since the units are aging. Our unit was perfectly decorated and well equipped, though I am glad we thought to bring starter paper products because none were provided or left behind from previous guests. It was somewhat confusing about our unit letter; our check-in form said Unit (N) but didn't match with the physical number of the address. So we ended up trying to get into unit N which was already occupied. We asked around a bit, and based on a review of the pictures online, we deduced that Unit W was where we were located. For this property, we appreciated the outside work to replace some of the weathered decking and hope that continues until all is updated for safety and appearance reasons. It was so nice to set out on four different deck options for our unit alone, which were all decorated nicely with very comfortable seating. Our main concern inside was a few of the doors sticking/hard to work, and the a/c unit was a little loud on the first floor. But temperature, appliances, tvs, storage, atmosphere and all else was very nice. The unit had thoughtful additions and very nice décor which was appreciated by all. The kitchen was well-equipped, as was the closet off the living room where some beach items, cleaning items and games and puzzles helped to support our stay.

Close to the Beach but AC is very loud

This property was the perfect size for our little family of three. And the beach access is incredible. It was very clean and well furnished. If you are sensitive to noise, the A/C should be a major concern. It is so loud on the first floor we could barely talk and it ran constantly. It was also disappointing that the hot tub was not in service during our stay but the pool was lovely. I mention the AC because I did not see it in any of the reviews. I also want to say that if you are not familiar with OBX rentals they omit things standard in many other rentals (toilet paper, hand soap, trash bags). I would encourage the rental agency or listing owner to provide a list.

Great Oceanfront Property

Met expectations

we booked 3 weeks prior to arrival, so there were limited options Oceanview. Location was good. Wish the unit had a washer and dryer. There was a laundry room in the complex, however needed quarters to run it. Overall a good experience.

Amazing Place

This was the perfect property for our family. We love being right on the beach for easy access! We also loved having access to the pool for cooling down & having a nice place to eat lunch every day!

Nice to get away

We enjoyed our stay at Living the Dream! It was exactly what we wanted this go ‘round: somewhere small for our family of 3 to social distance at the beach during the pandemic. The property had a wonderful view of the ocean from both bedrooms and was a short walk to the beach, a necessity with a small child. While we didn’t visit the pool but a few hours when it was empty Saturday afternoon, it was nicely maintained and had good tables with shade umbrellas. The interior of the unit was very clean, beach chic, smartly furnished, and had all the necessities. Because we were unable to do some of the typical beach things, we were reliant on indoor activities/entertainment more than I would usually like. WiFi was a bit spotty at times (unfortunately we both had to do some work) and the AC unit on the main level was loud, making some of our time less than relaxing. I wouldn’t say either thing hindered our overall enjoyment and I’d consider staying again, for the main things I care about (cleanliness, closeness to beach, cute and comfortable furnishings) were absolutely met!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I had a wonderful time at Living the Dream. The unit was big enough to comfortably handle my wife, 3 kids and myself. It is located right on the beach, with balconies off each bedroom. It is quite close to a shopping center so groceries are never far away. If you are a family on a budget, I’m not sure there is a better bargain in Nags Head. Well priced, great location, easy to do business with...not sure if you can ask for much more. The only suggestion I would have for the owner would be to update the appliances when their budget allows. Everything works fine but is aging. Feels nit-picky to say because the appliances had zero effect on our stay.My family and I absolutely LOVE the Outer Banks and Living the Dream will be one of our first choices when we visit again!! Thanks for the hospitality!!
