Not what I was expecting

Is a beautiful house except that the pillows where dirty with mold, the swimming pool was always cold because is always in a shade so don’t expect to get a nice tan there you have to go the beach to get that, also they need a new blender and stove it doesn’t work properly. But other than that is a nice house just a little more work and a heated pool will be the perfect house. Is in a good location and lots of space and beautiful views.

Our Beautiful San Benito Casa

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful Home for 4 weeks and after the first 2 days there we knew we would come back to our new Mexican Casa, and we have already rebooked for numerous stays, The kitchen is fully stocked, with awesome pots and pans, lots of plates, glasses and cutlery,bowls and other kitchen accessories. the layout of the home is perfect, there is a sitting room to watch TV and movies when you first enter the home, there is also a gated back yard courtyard to sit in the late afternoons to barbecue and have cocktails when the Yucatan winds pick up, there is a very large downstairs full bathroom with a shower, a large beautiful dining room with seating for 6, the kitchen is a good size and lots of room for preparing meals, a full size fridge with large side freezer, microwave, coffee pot and blender, the outside by the pool is beautifully furnished with lots of sun chairs,to sit and watch the incredible view of the ocean, another dining table and a couch and chairs, there are also 2 chairs under the palapa on the other side of the pool,with more incredible views of the ocean, there is also an outside bar with power if you wish to make drinks there, We stayed in the upstairs bedroom facing the ocean, it is a very good size and has a full size bathroom with a large walk in shower,that is next to a sitting room, both the bedroom and sitting room have access with glass doors to a large deck overlooking the pool area, which is furnished with a table and lots of chairs, there are 2 other bedrooms on the upper floor,each with its own bathroom, but it was just the 2 of us, so we just used the 1 bedroom. This house is a home and not just a rental property, and of course like any home there will be things that come up, the love, pride and care is everywhere in this home, Miriam and her family were amazing to deal with and any things that did come up were resolved by all of us working together, and anything we needed or wanted they were quick to accommodate us as best they could, and they have become friends and our extended Mexican Family, if you are looking to stay at a home, rather then just a rental then you will love Casa Jomy as much as we do! First time visiting Progreso with family and we encountered too many issues with the house.

The house needs so many updates, from fixing the plumbing in the kitchen sink, toilets and showers to a more understanding and pleasant manager. Everyday we encountered problems in the house, we did not get to enjoy Christmas as we planned. We spent our time drying floors, pumping water for showers and dishes. I kindly sent the issues to the manager, Miriam, as the problems arise and the manager got tired of it to the point of being rude and unprofessional suggesting that we were over reacting from a drop of water from the sink could not accumulate lots of water on the floor. We were very patient and all we were requesting from her is to fix the problem but she was in denial that everything in the house is perfect. Even the refrigerator broke while we were in the house which she did replace. We were there for a week, and we did not have enough common supplies like toilet paper, dish soap, trash bags, and paper towels. The TV in the living room was also broken, so we couldn't use it at all, the one in the bedroom was working, but had no signal going into it, so we couldn't watch anything there either. My suggestion to new visitors is to plan ahead for everything we listed above and bring the supplies and ask lots of questions about the house to the manager before booking.

Hi Karla. Im sorry if you felt that way...our house recieve all the manteniance it needs, but sometimes it depends as how you use the things. Nevertheless, every time you told me something was going wrong, I tried to fix it as soon and as good as I could, I also went to give you an apologize in person, but as Mexican, you know that on december 25th nobody works and that day it was impossible for me to find someone to fix the toilet, also as you know, in Mexico we do not throw paper into a toilet because it breaks and it was what happened... About supplies as toilet paper or dishes soap, we give just for your arrival and then all my other guests used to buy their food and supplies as they need. Thank you for your review, once again, I give you my apologize and wish you a happy new year.

Great Beach house!

Miriam was very easy to contact and Juan, the care taker, was very responsive to any of our needs. The house was perfect for us abd the location is beautiful. We would definitely rent this property again.

A piece of paradise

Miriam is friendly and easy to communicate with. The house is in an excellent location in front of the beach, only 40 minute drive from Merida. My family and I were very comfortable in this wonderful house.
