A true period home extremely well equipped

The house appeared a bit rustic from the outside but upon entering it revealed itself as a wonderful depiction of 50’s, 60’s life with great updates. Everything was provided and then some. You have just entered a familiar spot with a warm invitation. The entertainment element was very rewarding.

Excellent Stay

This property is perfect. Been vacationing in the Berkshires twice a year for the past ten years and have rented multiple homes. This one is at the top of our list. Clean, roomy, and had everything we needed. I'd highly recommend it.

Feels like a home

We loved the atmosphere of this place, clearly feeling the deep sense of home that comes through via the art work, the music, the pictures and stories of family members. The screened porch was lovely for meals.

WOW - such a beautiful house - great location, impeccably clean, well stocked, cozy with great family vibes!

This was by far the best rental we have ever had the pleasure of experiencing! Loaded with vintage items, a GREAT vinyl record library that we fully enjoyed, lots of family items (artwork, photos) all around the house gave us a sense of a very loving family hosting us for the weekend. The house is nestled in a wooded area with pretty trees all around. We used the upper level deck and the lower level screened porch for coffee, cocktails, etc. The kitchen has a unique older stove that was fun to use (it worked beautifully). The card table in the living room came in handy for some marathon poker games listening to the great music selection. Easy , short drives to surrounding towns for shopping and dinner. Definitely recommend this house for a quiet and cozy get away. Many thanks to the family for sharing their treasures with their guests.

Perfect cozy Berkshires spot

We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely house. There was plenty of room for the whole family, lot's of great toys and games, and gorgeous scenery from every window. We even saw a bobcat! The weather was very cold and wet while we were visiting but the house stayed warm in this cozy house.

Wonderful and cozy winter stay

This is a fantastic house nestled in th Berkshires with easy access to hiking and snow sports at Butternut, with a grocery store in Lee within 15 minutes. The house is very well equipped with everything you need for daily living. The beds are comfortable and the towels are plush. The house warms up quickly and stays warm even in deep winter. A couple of things to watch out for include no T-Mobile cellular reception right at the house (but there is WiFi at the house) and steep and somewhat uneven stairs from the main floor up to the bedrooms (can be challenging for small children or mobility impaired). Best of all, the owners share small pieces of their family history in the memorabilia displayed throughout the house and it's a real treat to learn about the family's connection to jazz music in America. We had a wonderful stay here and will plan to return on our next trip to the Berkshires.

Cozy winter location

We had a cozy stay at the Monterey house. House had all the supplies needed. Beds were comfortable. Stairs are steep so need to be careful on them. Would stay here again!

House of Love

The house was clean and comfortable. You can tell the owners make lots of memories there, and we did too! The screened-in porch and outdoor seating area were lovely. Lots of toys and games for kiddos. Thanks!

Lovely home in the Berkshires

The home has a very comfortable layout for a family , with a large kitchen-dining area, spacious family room with game area, reading alcove with window seats, and seating area around the fireplace. Location is a short walk to Lake Garfield, a quick drive to several hikes, and also to restaurants, shops, and museums in Great Barrington, Lee. and Stockbridge.

Great house!

This house was perfect for our party of five. The right amount of space and creature comforts, comfortable beds. Loved all the games and the decor. My only feedback would be to replace the shower head in the master bath, if possible. Thank you!

Relaxing stay in the berkshires

The house was charming and comfortable. We enjoyed the charm of the older house, though I think updating the stove and oven is a good idea. We spent a lot of time in the family room area enjoying board games. There was A lovely, spacious screened in porch which we enjoyed, though it would benefit from lighting so you can enjoy it at night. The location was perfect for exploring small surrounding towns and hiking trails. We also saw 2 bears during our weekend there in the front and back yards. Overall a great stay for adults.

Lovely summer getaway

This large home is adjacent to lovely wooded land, under a star-filled sky, and just a short walk away from wonderful, swimmable Lake Garfield. It's a fine spot for a getaway. I loved the big screened porch, where I could start my day with a cup of coffee and the sound of birds. The open deck above was perfect for star-gazing, and yes, I did see several "shooting stars." The home has all the amenities for easy living. A dishwasher, washing machine, drier, microwave and all the kitchen necessities. There are two kayaks and a paddle board for exploring the lake. Monterey is a quiet, attractive town in the heart of the Berkshires. Once Covid-19 is under control, and the Boston Symphony and local theatre and dance can return to the area, it will be a prime summer destination, even more than it is now. We enjoyed our stay at this property very much.

Respite in the woods

We had a lovely weekend at this nicely furnished, clean and cozy house. The beds were super comfortable, and the location is pretty convenient to nearby towns. We would definitely stay there again!

Family vacation

The house is exactly as described and then some. We enjoyed our days and evenings on the screened in porch, the beach was a short walk away (no dogs allowed which was sad), but still it was beautiful. We loved the character and the decor of the house. The gardens/landscape is beautiful! Only down side is it is tick season!! Our dog came in with a tick or 2 every time we took him out- and some on ourselves, but tis the season. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home!!
