About Joan Champion
I am an artist turned Real Estate agent, a wife, mom, and Grandma. My husband and I moved to E. Tn. from Marietta, Ga. over 23 years ago to help out with my aging parents. The move was supposed to be temporary but here we are 23 years later. My favorite pastimes are horseback riding and working in my flower beds. I also enjoy cooking and reading.
Joan Champion purchased this Chalet in 1996
Why Joan Champion chose Tellico Plains
This property has been in my family for over a hundred years. My parents, Grandparents and Great-Grandparents were born and raised in these mountains. I love them too. This is a very special property. Cherokee National Forest is our backyard and there are lots of creeks and ponds close by. It is a nature lover's paradise.
What makes this Chalet unique
I love that we have access to the National Forest, a fish pond, pastures and beautiful flowers and birds.

We Fell In Love - Good For the Soul
Late post- this year we spent our Thanksgiving with family in a whole “new” place!! It was a last minute trip, and definitely one of ALL of our favorites ❤️ after searching last min, we ended up in the small town of Tellico Pines TN where it’s soooooo Quiet, not busy or touristy, and the scenery is forever etched in our minds and on our hearts ❤️ We Knew instantly we would be back!! Our host was the sweetest little lady who also captured each of our hearts in different ways. She wasn’t “with” us through out our stay, but she was “there” in many ways. I will be forever grateful to her for sharing Jesus with us, her home that she loves so much and the town that we loved and will return to. “God leads people here that need to be here, and y’all were meant to come” she said. So thankful for that!!
Great place to stay, Joan was wonderful!
So accommodating and friendly. Location was perfect for daily rides and plenty of room to park. Thanks so much for the great hospitality.
We had an amazing time here. Everything was just as it stated online and much more. Joan is such a sweetheart. Moon pie (Joan's fur baby) was such a friendly girl! We will definently be staying here our next visit to Tellico Plains.
Thank you, I was blessed to have you in my home.
Loved staying in this beautiful home. Joan was a sweetheart. Only reason I gave 4 stars for accuracy of listing was that there was no satellite tv, only dvds/videos.
Sorry, when I put listing in we had Satellite TV and it quit working probably because of trees so I had it taken out. I just forgot to edit listing , will try to get that done asap.
Lots of outdoor activities. If you don't like nature stay home. We have nice hiking trails, waterfalls, fishing in our pond or the famous Tellico River. Motorcycle riding is very popular, bikers come from all over the world to ride the famous "Tail of the Dragon". Coker Creek was discovered when gold was found in our area and recreational gold mining is still popular. Our light pollution is very low so this is a great place for star gazers.
