The property includes two luxury villas – the hillside Castello di Pieve San Quirico, 11th-13th century Historic Mansion, built by emperor Frederick the II of Swabia (7 bedrooms Main House) and the nearby hilltop Tower Palace villa, 11th century Historic Mansion (8 bedrooms Guest House - fully renovated in 2023).

The Main House is a Castle encircling a courtyard with an octagonal tower and surrounding walls, with interiors that have been renovated and restored to the highest standard. The furnishings are stylish and refined, yet comfortable with cozy fireplaces and plush sofas and armchairs. In the fully equipped professional kitchen you’ll find stainless steel appliances and everything you will need for cooking for a crowd, or ask the property’s dedicated Concierge about cook services available at extra cost.

The Guest House is an 11th century watch Tower with attached palace that is just up the hill, 70 metres from the castle. In 2023 it has been fully renovated and restored to the highest standard and transformed in an eco-sustainable luxury vacation villa with 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and 1 guest bathroom. Available exclusively in combination with a rental of the Castle, the Tower villa can be added to your Castle rental for a total of up to 15 bedrooms (sleep 30), on Le Torri di Bagnara Estate.

Our castle-homes can be booked on a Self- Catering basis or as a “Villa Hotel”. All the services of a grand-hotel are available on request and our concierge team can customize vacation following clients’ desires and needs.

The Bagnara Estate is a 1500-acre (590 hectare), very private historic estate and nature reserve, with a working farm – a huge green heaven at our Guests full disposal that provides superb opportunities for walking and biking, mushrooms and truffle hunting, wildlife watching and photography, doing meditation and yoga, and much more.

Umbria is one of Italy’s most uspoilt and picturesque regions, also called “Italy’s green heart”. This enchanting area is nestled between Tuscany and the dramatic Sibillini mountains and is dotted by dozens of charming medieval towns and one of Italy’s largest lakes, the Trasimeno. You can reach Tuscany in 30 minute drive and the Adriatic coast in 90 min drive. Umbria offers all the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Tuscany, but without the crowds, and ticks all the boxes for those seeking an authentic, sustainable Italian escape.

The 5,000 sq.m manicured gardens which surround the Pieve castle were created by the famous Tuscan landscape designer Alberto Margheriti. They are embroidered with flowers (roses, santoline, perovskia, and thyme), pomegranate and cherry trees, with cratecus, laurel, rosemary and lavender bushes, oak and olive trees, that are continuously in flower. Numerous seating areas offer fabulous views over the hills and the Tiber valley.

Other features are the large panoramic infinity saltwater pool (120 sqm) with fantastic hillside views, the botanic gardens with aromatic plants and a vegetable garden with fresh vegetables to pick up and enjoy. The pool broad wooden loggia, surrounded by jasmines and roses, features a frigo, dining tables and chairs, elegant sofas in wicker and lighting and is the ideal place for a lazy lunch or romantic evening dining. There are 15 elegant sunbeds in wicker with fluffy cushions, 15 loungers, 15 pool umbrellas, shower, telephone; the whole garden around the pool features beautiful lighting.

Finally, table tennis, bocce ball court, billiards, mountain bikes and children playground will keep you entertained. There is even a beautiful church perfect for tying the knot should the fancy take you! The castle is licensed for on-site civil weddings.

Eco-Sustainability is part of daily life here: energy comes from our 140 kWh PV Solary Energy systems, we harvest rain water to irrigate the fields and our pool is cleaned with sea salt; we use environmentally friendly cleaning products and practice daily a careful differentiated collection of waste. We serve seasonal, traditional, fresh food locally grown in our farm and in other selected Umbrian farms and we focus on local cuisine. We are constantly working to improve the property with renewable energies, recycling, water treatment, organic fertilizer, and sustainable agriculture. Both the Pieve San Quirico castle (Main House), the Tower Palace villa (Guest House), and the Estate’s Offices power plants are connected to the property’s 140 kWhPV Solar Energy Systems, effectively making the entire property powered by renewable sources self-produced by the Bagnara Estate itself. The property also features water softener system and Legionella prevention system.
