Wiley Mountain Lodge is a century old Inn that welcomed north Georgia's 1st visitors off the Tallulah Falls Locomotive Trains at Wiley Station. Horse and buggy brought guests to the front steps of, what was then, Mountain Laurel Inn. Guests were greeted by the Inn's owner, Mrs Blanche Court, and the luggage boy took the leather suitcases up the winding stone steps to the broad front porch.
100 years later we have transformed Wiley Mountain Lodge into a cozy mountain retreat where you can quickly escape from the city to be surrounded by nature. The Lakemont style batten-board lodge is totally private, perfectly located and completely outfitted with all the details. We imagine that our pioneer ancestors would get a kick out of how fashionable Wiley looks today. When you walk through the screen doors you immediately have a sense of connection to the past that's hard to resist! Wiley feels honest and unpretentious. It evokes a simpler time with natural warmth, organic textures, tree top views and clean mountain air.
Wiley Mountain Lodge is located in the midst of the Appalachian mountain range, off 441 just South of Clayton Georgia. The Lodge Property backs up to the Chattahoochee National Forest. The lodge is minutes away from Lake Rabun Marina, Lakemont Village, vineyards, shops, restaurants, rafting, trails, waterfalls and Parks. Wiley Mountain Lodge is the perfect Home base to all that the North Georgia Mountains have to offer! Here you can get away from it all, keep it simple and enjoy the mountain life.
Because we celebrate the art of repurposing, Wiley provides a wonderful showcase for our ingenuity and use of the land. We are Georgia made, every pressed tin tile, cedar beam, quartz stone, squeaky pine board, wavy glass and soft quilt.
In a world where there is so much virtual, we invite you to come enjoy blatantly real & rustic. We call it Glamping!!
You will love Wiley if you were happiest exploring in the woods as a kid, turning over stones, playing in the mud and investigating every little creature. If you loved "Little house on the Prairie" , old flannel shirts and S'mores on a stick, we can't wait for you to enjoy Wiley Mountain Lodge!

Why Scotty chose Lakemont
We love the North Georgia Mountains!! Our family has always had a place on Lake Rabun and we love entertaining family and friends. Wiley Mountain Lodge has offered us more space for guest having events and gatherings with family and friends. It is a special Historic place that we can open up to others to enjoy the Lake and all that the North Georgia Mountains have to offer!

Our family had a great time at this restored home! We loved the hot tub and the ambiance surrounding the house. The attention to detail on the decorations were phenomenal. Many fun surrounding outdoor activities!
We love the Hot Tub area also! It is so nice getting up in the morning and having coffee surrounded by the trees and birds.
Thank you for appreciating the house and all of our decorations and design. It was a really fun house to renovate. Our passion is taking old homes with charm back to their original glory. This one was particularly fun because it came with so much history along with Charm. We love the screen porches attached to every room. When Wiley used to be an Inn in the early 1900's people came to the mountains because fresh air was considered some of the best treatment for people suffering from Tuberculosis. At the time, it was the number one cause of death.
People in the southern states wanted to enjoy the cooler summer nights on the screen porches. And, they became an especially popular place for children to sleep.
With the Frenzied pace of our modern lives it is nice to find a place where the world seems to float away as the cicada song sings you to sleep and takes you back to a simpler time.
After all, who can resist a private place where you can get back in touch with nature, take a mid-afternoon nap or unwind with a good book. And, if you are really lucky, you can enjoy a rain storm under the patter of the tin roof!
We were Glad to have you! Please come back again, soon.

Better than we ever dreamed!
What a wonderful time we had at Wiley Mtn Lodge. Honey and Papa with their five wonderful grands, ranging in age from 15-9, got along perfectly, even with just one bath. Parents joined us for meals and we all enjoyed family time together on the wonderful porch. Papa especially enjoyed sharing memories he had of staying in the lodge when he was a small boy. Can't wait to go back. Sooner rather than later we hope. Larry & Susan
Just Right, as Goldilocks said...
From the moment we arrived to the perfectly lit lodge nestled on the side of Wiley Mountain we felt peace. Jason and Scotty did an wonderful job maintaining nostalgic character of the 1800's yet making their Wiley Mountain Lodge a comfortable and cozy retreat for today's travelers. We drove approximately 9 hours to get here and spend time with our family and they made it well worth the trip right down to the Christmas tree and the chopped wood for us to burn in the 2 fireplaces. We enjoyed hiking the mountain, visiting tallulah gorge , the nearby lakes, and little town of Clayton during the day and preparing dinner either outside on the green egg lit by overhead lighting in trees or in the well equipt kitchen. Our older children surprisingly looked forward to eating in the dining room overlooking the lovely drive. Scotty had nicely set the table for 6 which was perfect for us and there was extra seating for more if necessary. The ambiance was incredible. Love the sleeping porches and soft comfy bedding, animal skin stools, and antler lighting. There was so much to see and do. We never turned on the tv which was there to watch movies just in case we were not entertained enough by the rough hewn details, interesting books, scenery, and family time. We played games by the fire at night and if you would like there were fluffy robes and a hot tub to relax in. There were plenty of places to sleep. I don't want to give it all away. You will see how Jason and Scotty put their heart and soul into this place and I cannot thank them enough for sharing it with us. Your adventurous family, a couple, or even a small wedding Party would not be disappointed. Like a fairytale come true!
Perfect place to unplug without being too far off the beaten path
The description of this property is spot-on. The owners were very responsive during the booking process. They also called to make sure we found the place and that all was in order. Very easy to work with. We had zero issues with the house and would recommend it to anyone who wants a rustic secluded place which can handle plenty of guests without being too far away from town.
The first word that comes to mind about this place is "authentic". The construction and decor is definitely from a simpler time. It is totally comfortable and well-appointed. We had 6 adults and 2 children and could hosted twice that number. There are so many cool places to gather in this home. Front porch is expansive, hot tub area is well-lit and comfortable and the outdoor cooking setup (complete with a Green Egg) was fantastic as well. The house in situated high on a steep hillside that makes you feel like you are up in the tree branches. Every day we discovered more interesting details around the house - how many vacation rentals have a taxidermied bobcat? It's obvious that an enormous amount of time has gone into creating the vibe this place has.
So as relaxed and quiet as this place is, it is only minutes away from grocery stores, gas, etc. Plus, all the wonder of the North Georgia mountians is close by. We did kid friendly stuff during the day - tubing, exploring Sliding Rock (frigid even in late July), and walking at Tallullah Gorge. We cooked in the evenings and enjoyed the front porch. On the last day we wished we had another couple of days to explore. Definitely want to come back again.
Are you kidding? This is an awesome place...:)
What a find! Completely period perfect place tucked away just so. Seriously, this takes you back to a different time and era with just enough "new world" convenience. It could not be more pleasant.
The owners are so completely easy to deal with and very responsive. They have it decorated with a period vibe and it is a place to become unhurried and quiet. If you are in need of some serious unplug time, this is for you!
Beautiful, Quiet, Well Appointed Quaint Cabin
The place is hard to find unless you are good at reading the map accompanying the web site but once found the lodge is a jewel. It is very comfortably furnished four bedroom cabin with more interesting old, local antiques and furniture than a person can take in, in just a few days. It is like living in your great grandmother's house, but with a refrigerator instead of an icebox and with a microwave and Keurig coffeemaker. There is so much to see and do that you will not miss your IPad or phone.
We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Wiley Mountain Lodge! Especially, that you were able to 'disconnect" and not miss wifi!!
Glad you were able to appreciate the Rustic charm of the lodge mixed with the modern conveniences. And, that you found so much to do in the area.
Thanks so much for visiting and come back again anytime!!
Cheers! Jason and Scotty
There are so many great places to visit close to Wiley Mountain Lodge. One of our Favorite places is Tallulah Gorge with its gorgeous views, waterfalls, hiking and rock sliding. And, for the more adventurous there is rock climbing and kayaking at the Gorge. Our other jewel is Lake Rabun called the "Lake Como of Georgia" where you can enjoy lake fun during the Spring, summer and Fall
